I grew up by the ocean, and this is terrifying to me. The lack of awareness in the mother, or even the person filming it, is disturbing, and I’m just glad they were all ok. Especially that kiddo!!!! Don’t mess with the ocean!!!

They were clearly getting home during a high tide and managed to get home safe before the tide came in any further and you’re trying to claim the mothers negligent for… keeping her daughter safe?

The lady (might not even be the kids mom) couldn't pick up a gallon of milk let alone a kid of that size. Skinny arms and no meat on her frame.
I think if she had picked her up, she would lose her balance. It's a string wave. It happened very fast. She had no time to pick her up.

In this video, what is the "lesson" you are referring to that she "should have learned" according to you?
And would that lesson have been taught to her more effevtively had she been screaming and crying instead?
She seemed fully aware of the possible dangers seeing as she hurried to safety the moment she noticed another wave was coming.
But, once she realized that she was safe and everything was okay, she enjoyed the moment and laughed it off.
I don't see a problem with that.
In fact, screaming and crying would have most likely impaired her judgement and her ability to analyze the sitiation and make that quick rational decision.

Omg.. this gave me so much anxiety!! Why wouldn’t she pick up her child? I don’t think she understands how lucky she is that the wave didn’t take her child.
She would lose her centre of gravity if she picked her up. Why she let go of her hand tho is a mystery.
The mom (I assume, could also just be a relative) looks like she weighs 100lbs wet, vs the the kid who looks like she's close to 50lbs or even over. If the woman has picked the child up they both would've been bowled over. Instead the child kept herself up and centered.

@@camilleizeshe wasn’t holding her hand the 2nd wave. There was no protection at all…my baby wouldn’t have been slammed into the wall to begin with. Mother was only worried bout her flip flops. It’s like she thought she could predict those waves and didn’t anticipate the large size. You can never anticipate the size of a wave, they have a mind of their own. Most ppl would’v waited or at least attempted to reach to pick up the child.
