      First off things like the hole punch would be much faster to just build one then to go to the store. I build tools every day to avoid the time it would take to go to the store.

    If you don't have basic hand tools and can't buy them, but you do have an angle grinder, a power drill, a welder and a pile of rusty steel, you can make your own tools. Makes perfect sense to me! The title is a bit misleading, though. Just one two-letter word, "My", added to the front of the title would have made it more accurate.

      But hey, if you enjoyed making them, then great for you! In the future just don't claim they are smart diy inventions if they are just homemade versions of commonly available inexpensive tools. Obviously you are going to get some negative feedback when people are mislead. 🙄

    I agree with most of the comments, if you have a complete metal shop with a welder and the skills to use them then yeah you can make just about anything. It would be better if he showed you how to make these things from objects around the home or garage with the minimum of tools.

    What’s up with all the negative comments? Sour grapes? Give the guy a break, he’s a skilled craftsman and is making some cool stuff. So what if you can buy the stuff at the hardware store? It’s more fun and educational making it yourself.

    Yes of course, we all have a smithy and a hardware store "at home", of course.

    I like the inventiveness and the make what you need that is missing these days where every one is just buy it I grew up on building sites and I remember the tools knocked up on the spot out of scraps that my father used for years you should make plans available

    Try inventing things that cant be bought at the dollar store.
    You have the talent.

    Amazing ideas, clever thinking my friend

  • @truckertriesfarming9792
    @truckertriesfarming9792 4 года назад +8

    This is all very clever. These are not inventions, however. This is recreating crude versions of pre-existing stuff. And, even though I already have the welder and grinder (Which, come on... that is NOT part of the average tool set. Every guy has a hammer; not every guy owns a welder or grinder), by the time I go buy the metal stock needed to make these things, and spend the time and energy; plus, let's not forget that welders are not free to run, and grinder wheels cost money... these tools can be bought for less money.
    The only way that this makes sense, is if the dictator of the socialist utopia, in which you reside, has issued you welders, grinders, and an unlimited supply of metal stock... but won't provide you access to basic hand tools.
