I was born in Casteldaccia, but the Messina province has always been my favorite, the mountains, the sea, the islands, and it's green all year round. I would love to live in Capo D'Orlando.
We just visited Rometta 7-8 April. Amazing people. My Wife met about 25 of her distant cousins and the Mayor rolled out the red carpet for us. A very special place with the freshest air. Thank you to the Saija Saia Saja and Merlino families for the warmest of welcomes. We can’t wait to return. The number one restaurant in Rometta was delicious.
So beautiful is Sicilia ❤ every turn a picture, every turn Sicilia captured our hearts 💕 my dear Husband was at home every time we returned. I wish it was so today 😢 thank you for the emotion you return to me 🙏😢🥰❤
Great video. I just loved trying to find Phil’s ancestral home of his grand parents. What a lovely journey for this couple to walk in the steps of his grandparents. It gave me goosebumps ❤. Thankyou for sharing.
Thank you for this wonderful video. Scicily is such a beautiful place to be. I have to say that listening to Ave Maria brought tears 😢 and memories back to me. Much love ❤️ 😊
My Dad is from Rometta, there are two parts to Rometta, the Mountain part you went to and the beach part all one Commune, plus other little municipalities as well. . We were there 2 years ago. Check out Monte Dinamare. There is a cute little church at the very top and it overlooks the strait of Messina and Messina itself.
If you get a chance visit a small town called Graniti which is also in the province of Messina up in the mountains. Not too far from Giardini Naxos. Artists from around the world have decorated this town with many beautiful murals located around the city. People come from all over to take a walking tour of the town to admire all murals. Graniti is a small town with a population of around 1400. Enjoy!
OMG! My great grandmother is a Rizzo from Rometta. We have been there a couple times and our Italian documents will be filed there. We are in the translation phase for our documents to have our Italian citizenship recognized. Complicated 3 1/2 yr 1948 case but we can see the finish line. Can we email you offline? We have to be related to the gentleman you interviewed but did not catch his name. We’ve communicated previously several times. We were to be at the NYE celebration in Taormina but my docs had me cancel. So we have a credit for this coming NYE at the hotel.
Another great town in the Nebrodi Mountains in Sicily Mistretta ruclips.net/video/STISllbyuLo/видео.htmlsi=sgom4k97eddrnGFK
Grazie mille!💝
Buona Domenica!
Phil Grosso is my first cousin. I love this video. I hope to one day make the same pilgrimage to my grandmother and grandfather's birthplace.

My maiden name is Rizzo and I’d had a hard time finding where my great grandfather was from in Sicily.
I'm thinking of going to Milazzo end October/early November. Anything happening with you guys around that time?
We have our October Tour but nothing in November !
