I love playing older games with Mods. Helps to breath new life into games I have enjoyed playing in the past. Hope you also enjoy the "epicness" this mod brings to Empire Total War. The Darthmod launcher settings I used for this playthrough are: 2 turns per year (only option with the 40 Unit Saves version), 1.5 x artillery, grenades enabled, research rate normal, no forts (can not build any new forts), and large deployment zone.

Empire: Total War is a turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. The fifth installment in the Total War series, the game was released in 2009. The game, focuses on the early modern period of the 18th century.
Players choose an 18th-century faction and set out to achieve domination over the known world through military force, diplomacy, espionage and economics. The interface and play are similar to earlier Total War titles: although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real-time. Empire: Total War is the first game in the series to allow naval battles to be conducted in real-time.

The United provinces have colonies in the Indian and American theaters. You could put together a few armies to secure the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth some overseas territories
