- Superyacht LANA is one of the largest superyachts ever built and designed by Benetti. Launched in June 2020, it's an awesome yacht that ticks so many boxes. Not only is it long and spacious at a whopping 351ft (107m) , it also has a very sleek and simple profile. Everything about this yacht oozes perfection. We were privileged to be welcomed on board in Malta for four days to complete a full photo and film shoot. For some reason I'm watching yacht videos. And I'm broke. But after twenty or so videos this has to be the best one. I found bigger more expensive but this is the most beautiful by far.

I am really impressed this is one of the nicest yachts i've ever seen its a touch on the white side in terms of interior decorating but I'd be hard pressed to come up with a ship i like much more!

There are better yachts
The annul running cost is $10 to $20 million that’s gas, fees for docking or storage if you put it away for several months, paint work, insurance, maintenance etc. that would come up every year or through out the year. Like suddenly your engine is no longer under warranty and you have to replace an engine or two. Sudden things come up all the time and people aren’t prepared for it. The price for this yacht LANA is $200 million. I’d budget $25 million a year for this, only because it’s always best to budget higher and save money, then not budget high enough and the yacht can’t be fixed. There are yachts that are more expensive and some that are less expensive, but this is a nice yacht, but if you’re just looking for a yacht to travel around to different vacation destinations you could buy a $10 million yacht to do that. That typically has 8 to 10 crew and about 5 to 6 cabins to sleep 10 to 12 guests. Yachts range from $1 million up to $600 million and like anything else the more you spend typically the bigger the yacht with more amenities. This yacht charters for $2 million a week.

This new trend that just started in the yachting world, they started creating support vessels for the luxury yachts that you could buy to make your yachting experience that much better. These typically cost about $20+ million or more depending how big and the gadgets you have on board. Support vessels carry all the toys that a regular yachts that’s only 50m wouldn’t be able to carry, like helicopters, submarine, tenders, scuba gear, extra food, extra gas etc. it’s actually a great way to get more stuff available to do activities with, if you couldn’t afford $200 million for your yacht. Also that would mean instead of $25 million for the running cost, it would be $5 million a year for the two yachts. Damen yachting is doing some great work with support vessels. You could check out the support vessel and think what else do I need and a lot of yacht owners are going that way. A support vessel does not look pretty on the outside, but they can make the interior very high class.

Another great option is buying a used cruise ship for a $2 million and up depending on what you want. You run into the problem with stuff like old cruise ships could need to much money to fix it up to meet to today’s nautical standards. New electronics, rebuilt engines, etc. to make it up to par. Now I’m not sure what the running cost for a used cruise ship, but they have a 55m for $5 million. All the images they posted make the cruise ship in great shape, but you could go look it over and find out it’s a dud. You’re going to want to hire someone that’s an actual expert in yacht, yacht purchasing, yacht costs, because you don’t want to buy something you could afford to keep the upkeep on and from what I’ve read and watched on RUclips, it’s all money out the door. No value in owning a yacht. You cannot resell for more money. Not like a house or land. It’s more like an expensive car and in the long run that Ferrari or Lamborghini is going to cost you more in upkeep, then you’ll be able to resell it for in 5 years. So if you’re going to buy any bought or yacht, keep that in mind. There are experts out there that can help.

I am all for the free market but we don’t have that, we have crony-capitalism. The fact people are becoming this rich and an astonishing rate is kind of disgusting. No matter what anyone’s says, when people become this rich, it causes societies to fracture.
Yeah easy to think that but also think about the 1000’s of very skilled people and suppliers who love what they do and who spent years enjoying creating a beautiful yacht and getting paid for it. All thanks to one person. The people who create these yachts are very passionate and often pass their skills down many generations.
