  • I got through a second reading of Ulysses in under three weeks and finished it on Bloomsday, 2024. I have thoughts about it. Is the novel worth the trouble it takes to read it? "...yes I said yes..."!

I agree with you that Ulysses contains the world within in. Reminds me of something similar Borges said about Moby Dick or possibly Don Quixote, that they are endless. I like how you humanized the book and characters, with Death being an unnamed character in the book. It's a radical book, making everything that came after feel redundant. I don't recommend the book to readers unless they have a deep interest in reading it that goes beyond simple curiosity. Like you said, "attitude" is everything here otherwise don't bother.

Thanks for a great overview, I’ve attempted it, gave up, but you make it very compelling to try again!

Great video - very helpful. I think I will make my first attempt at reading this book in the near future.
