The Bastion has made me realise that the driver is a hell of a lot more important than the gunner simply because they're responsible for positioning, avoiding danger and for not getting the Bastion stuck.
It doesn't matter if you hop into the turret immediately, your doing nothing if your driver cant work with you.
I've tried driving it a few times and my god I am aweful at it lol.
I definitely gotta work on my environmental awareness while in that thing
Friendly tip: if you hold CTRL + left or right, you can get the tank to rotate in place without having to awkwardly back up and stuff.
Or they could have just given us a real tank with a turret that can spin 360 degrees.

When I joined the Helldivers we didn’t have any fancy schmancy tanks. We had peacemakers, two peacemakers and an auto cannon for the whole squad, and we had to share the auto cannon. Buck up boy, you’re one very lucky Helldiver.

Important liberating tip: bring a warp pack with it if you are the driver, when it detonates you will likely be facing enemies upfront and the exit animation is too long to tactically retreat compared to every other seat, get out and spam to warp behind the about to detonate tank to die for liberty another day!

It's a Tank Destroyer, meaning it should be behind the infantry and in the back lines, sniping heavies, not close enough to enemies to get blown up like that.

I like it, but I think it really needs neutral steering for it to shine. On rocky maps or even city maps you get stuck trying to turn because the tank drives like a really long car, and not well.. a tank. Armor and guns feel fine, just needs neutral steering.
Thing absolutely hates turning uphill too
If you have the game settings set right (where the game automatically sets forward to drive and back to reverse), it can in fact neutral steer. Don’t remember the setting offhand, I’ll have to come back & edit this comment.
I've had no problems with neutral steering. I just hold left, no forward command or anything, and it turns right then and there.

It has it ,it just seems like on PC it takes forever between when you hit the button and when it actually starts to turn.

Fixer dog, armored with REP-80 (another gift from HD1). Repairing vehicles and healing teammates
Hopefully a FOB secondary objective.
Seize it from enemy control and you get full reloads and repairs to vehicles when you drive into the repair bay. Also a strategem that acts as a second supply drop, seperate from the Super Destroyer Supply Drop. (Think the Artillery cannon but for supplies)

but let's be real, it only being medium armor is just mostly for gameplay reasoning. If it has heavy pen, the majority of enemies would not be able to damage/punish players at all...in a game-design point of view, that's a terrible idea, the fact it has a fuck ton of health is what matters the most.

That's probably just the Automaton getting killed close to the camera, as it sounds like one of their death sounds.

No idea why you would play this game solo, randos are chill, helpful and consistently know what they are doing even on Difficulty 10. Game was designed for the ground up for co-op play.

as the designated driver, I'd like to have something more to do than just drive. even if there's no chance of a hull mounted stalwart or something, some smoke launchers would be a nice addition. Plus the controller needs an option to tag when driving. There's no real point to the change gear buttons, I'd rather be able tot ag targets. It's a superb addition to the game though. Only other thing... first person view! let me drive from inside. let the gunner be in the turret loading and firing.
I feel you with point on tagging things. It feels so annoying having to leave the tank to Mark targets of high value or which are nearby for your gunner. I would rather have some sort of Scanner tool , so you are able to provide your Team/ Gunner with Intel , without ruining the Flow of you driving , especially when you have to reposition yourself from a large group of hostile forces. Otherwise the tank is mostly balanced for me.
You may get a horn in an update.

What would it be coaxial to? It's called a coaxial hmg because it shares an axis with the main gun.
A gun would be nice though, it's kinda annoying having to disembark whenever I wanna defend my tank.

If you pick the LMG and main gunner, there's a button in the settings you can designate to swap to eithet of the two seats beside you, thus basically reenacting a top hatch machine gun that tanks tend to have, looks cool too. Just watch the recoil since you can't crouch

The mech can stomp, press the melee key or whatever,
Also the mechs do damage stuff by waking into them, I know as that has killed me a few times.

yeah smaller enemies like scavengers or voteless you can just walk over with the walkers. But the stomp attack does a lot of damage and can one hit a lot of medium sized enemies. The only problem is that it's a bit hard to aim and has a long animation.@Fyre19

As a history nerd, I was gonna be like, "this technically isn't a tank, it's a tank destroyer, because it doesn't have a turret."
But, the description does, infact, call it a tank destroyer.

With how it functions, the Bastion is a tank, more specifically a casemate tank.
Tank destroyer is just a role. Most tank destroyers were casemates, but not all, due to casemates being more stable and better at supporting higher calibers.
But the Bastion in how its used and its function is more so a casemate tank. It’s sole function isn’t to hunt down armoured targets but to provide fire support like a tank against infantry and armour alike, like in Helldivers 1 and what we see in this trailer.

I was halfway joking. I know there's Cold War era main battle tanks without a turret, but most of my knowledge comes from WWII.
Plus, with the rear-mounted gun and the fact this thing can't withstand concentrated small arms fire, I would still argue it fits better into a tank destroyer role.
That "watch your flank" is refrence to how they spawn enemies right behind you.

I have a major question, will we have Vehicle Customizations added later on (What I mean by that is can we turn it from what it is now to a railgun tank or add mounted guns to the gunner spots and more) same thing goes for Mechs and other vehicles too?

Yall need to add a zoom for the gunner. We get a Tank Destroyer yet cant use it for its intended role. Sniping and holding down positions. Us not able to zoom and the terrain makes the Bastion struggle. We are using a Tank Destroyer in Tank situations. Tanks and Tank Destroyers are not the same. They were made to excel in their own roles. Bring out the HAV for the Tank role that deals with Chaff towards the frontlines while the Bastion is the Anti-Tank that snipes, thats how they are made to be.
And reduce the amount of rocks on maps so we can actually move into positions easier. The patrols that flank are annoying but i can do some turrets to help out but man... A Tank Destroyer getting forced into Tank situations is not what it was ever made for.
So I've been messing around for a while. The tank and recon vehicle synergize quite well.
You can have 2 people in a tank, car ing through the main defenses and demolishing the fabricators, you have a person in a recom vehicle, running around the map playing cleanup and grabbing everything the tanks left behind or hasn't gone for. And you have a 4th person either assisting the tank or the recon vehicle in completing the main objectives.
It works really well. Even on super helldive.
Tip for passengers,
If you bring laser cannons or plasma cannons you can easily support the rest of the tank crew and turn head tank into mobile fortress.
