- Athena and Apollo's kestrel chicks are less than a week old. Their eyes are only just beginning to open and they instinctively call for food whenever their parents are around. Watch Athena respond even though at this moment she has no food in her beak to share. There are five chicks here and a sixth still due to hatch.

Sadly, as many as 700,000 birds 🐦 die each year due to Wind Turbine Collisions.
Birds are curious and often fly towards Wind Turbines thinking that they may perch on them , they don't realise the speed of the rotation blades.
It breaks my heart to see this carnage, especially when you consider that wind energy contributes so little to our overall energy consumption.
Some of these birds are very rare and when you consider the huge effort by nature conservationist, these deaths are totally outrageous.
Where's the food? Is Athena regurgitating something?
