Okay so from a writer's point of view we do tend to put a ton of stuff in our first big thing if we are allowed to go unchecked. My first book (The Children Must Feed) was doomed from the start because I wrote every idea I had for that book as if everyone would want to read every single detail, I thought it was great. That made it a terrible read because it was just overstuffed. I later went back through it after my 2nd short story started to get good reviews & did an edit trimming almost 100 pages of fat.
Sounds like no one was there to say, "Hey this isn't working." I was pumped for this and will still see it just to support horror. Hopefully the reviews can do for her what the reviews for my first book did for me, force me to take a step back, see where I went wrong, and make the needed adjustments to my writing style. I'm sure she'll be just fine even if her first go at it wasn't. Thanks for the honest review peace to all as we go into the weekend.

LEE ?!?!? My friend! Lol. Oh I hate that you didn't get anything from this movie .
But , as we both know , if Bascin Robbins had 3 flavors ....oh wow. But thankfully they have A LOT of flavors, and we , as a people are full of opinions.
So we had completely different experiences with this movie.
I went into it EXPECTING not to like it , lol. But I was going to give it a try. I was surprisingly entertained and happy with this movie.
    I'd give it a 7/10 .
Now , some of this may be my niavity going into the movie. My thought process was taking me in a different direction I thought the movie was gonna go, so I was pleasantly surprised with a different outcome .
That final scene, l again, I didn't see it coming, lol. So the movie got me, lol. And I was like , " Oh wow ! I love this !"
If your curious , I thought the movie was going to go into a therapy session ending to it. That the older lady was actually a plant, a type of therapist , and the peole in there with her were directed her way by their families hoping to help them get past the emotional trauma that effected them.
I did pretty much lose that theory once it showed up the shape of these creatures , lol.
I also did get invested in the characters . Not thst is gave us all that much, but I felt it gave enough to care about them and hope they would survive everything.
And I'm not trying to talk you out of the things you didn't like , please don't thing that. But with Dakotas character and not acting over the top freaked out , I felt she had just become numb to life issues with what happend to her. And that she didn't easily show feelings and hadn't for a good while . That's just me, adding my own back story to the character, lol. I appreciate you tremendously my friend, love your reviews ! Anyhoo this never engaged me with the characters, plot and I got bored very early on and felt like I was dropped into the middle section of a bad segment of Night Gallery as it was being written and literally groaned at the stupid ending. This is bad and think she needs to spend less time aping M. Night's wildly overrated ass and find her own way cuz the more I think of this movie I find myself at the edge of The Village. Great review, always a pleasure 👍✌

Saw it today and it worked for me. Thankfully there wasn't a big M Night twist at the end. I think most viewers should figure out the ending before it takes place though. It was well paced and never dragged imo. I thought it was quite a good film for a 1st time director. It was a good double feature with In A Violent Nature yesterday. Some of the criticism with that film was it dragged and I thought it was well paced as well. The yoga kill has to be a top 5 all time slasher kill. Just epic slaughter!

If anybody grew up through 80s90s and is up to date with the movies, you've seen a lot and then another lot again or lil different. We are the first generation who went through many stages of the entertainment and right now will be very difficult to be "original". Many things today are like film version of the "cover band" quality. I love eclectic art when is individual and naturally inspired but this approach to mix genres because you want as much box office as possible is what is destroying pop culture. Terrifier is great because Damien is 100% inspired and focused on the genre. Art is new Freddy in my opinion. Sienna is my top 3 ultimate girl already.
