The mummers always put on a great show especially ferko string band. Whenever I meet someone who has never heard of mummers music I always have to play some for them on my phone.
Sadly, outside of the Northeast, the Mummers are virtually unknown. I believe this is so because the Parade is not presented live on nationwide or international tv. Over the years that I grew up in Brooklyn, NY we had highlights of the Rose Parade but never of the Mummers. Hopefully, some day this will change. Meantime *kimmikazi* presented the fest here on YT. Many people were astounded at the fun and pageantry. Let's hope many more will now learn of this great activity both at home and abroad. Kudos to South Philly for their excellent presentation.
