- Here we test a 1967 Olds 4-4-2 W-30 distributor and explain a little about the upgrades done with the SUN Standard Distributor Tester as we test the distributor using factory specs.
seems like you had inches of vac and degrees swapped the first time @ 200 rpm lol but great video! thx :-)
Karl,
I have exactly the same Sun distributor machine which you have described in this video and would like to upgrade my machine to an LED based system.
Can you provide contact information about the source of parts?
Thanks,

Hi Karl! I hope this reaches you.. Great video on the Sun machine!
I am desperately trying to locate a Sun machine owner that I can send my 1954 Mercury’s Load-O-Matic original distributor for proper curving. I have all the original parts needed plus the curve data from the maintenance manual.
Please help or point me in the right direction!
Thanks

You may reach out to Paramount Distributors in Grand Rapids Michigan, USA. He restores these, and may have a list of repair persons.
Regards,
Karl
Yeah, you messed up on the vacuum
Thanks for posting. First time seeing a Sun machine in action.
Nice vid. What gap were the points set at for your test?
How many of these are in landfills and scrapyards? I was really lucky to find an Allen synchro unit but it is in Cleveland and I am in Philly....lol
It is so great that you and opera are still working with this tech. I would haven idea how to work any of this stuff. I was not involved when this tech was in use or new.
