Love all the Illini “fans” being total jerks in the comments because they can’t understand how to support a team in a positive manner. We’ll get through this loss and learn from it like every other loss, and will be a better team because of it. As always thank you to y’all at the Illini Inquirer for the amazing coverage! I-L-L! 🧡💙
I am so sick off the "we'll learn from it after this loss" nonsense. Illinois has made 1 Elite 8 under Brad and never a Final Four. The last time we learned from a loss like this Loyola trounced us in the tournament. To lose a home game like this to SC...the only thing you learn is that you're not as good as you think you are.
@@markstevens4264No, the last time was last season when we lost at Penn State. Horrible loss, followed by a conference tournament championship and an elite eight run.
@@joeru1789Nice theory. Except Brad never learns from his mistakes. Did you listen to the presser? He basically admitted he doesn't know what he's doing. Listen to him.
@@markstevens4264 Yeah, I listened. And at no point did he say anything that could be interpreted as "I don't know what I'm doing." You seem like a sad, angry, bitter person. Perhaps you should get outside more often.

And that is why Painters Purdue is a better program than Underwood's Illinois. Love all the illini fans saying we have the best recorded the past 5.28 years
Same pattern every year... just this year it happened one game later than usual. Almost would've bet money PSU would be the one. By Underwood's usual math we've got at least 2 more of these coming
This definitely showed the weakness of this team - if you have a brutish team like USC come in and beat you up, you can beat Illinois. Kind of like the Pistons against the Bulls early on - either toughen up or you will lose to teams like this with a lot less talent.
Love this team and a big Boswell fan. But idk what game Brad was watching if he thinks kylans foul trouble was an issue. Ball movement when he came out, in the first half, was so much better. SC had our pick and roll on lockdown. We’ll bounce back.
That was a very bad effort - a lot of easy layups given up and Illinois could not finish a shot to save their souls. As good as they looked against Penn State, they looked as pathetic and soft against this team. Very soft around the rim, missed layup after missed layup and also could not shoot from 3 - but USC has to given credit - they roughed Illinois up. Hopefully they look at this film and are sickened by what they saw.
No excuses Brad Have your team ready to GO Unacceptable My NIL donations is going to Bret Bielema and Illinois football . Bret does more with less Brad Underwood = James Franklin
Oh Saint Dom, hyperbolic as always. Don’t worry, we’ll prove you wrong again this year just like last year after you were in the comments of every loss (but rarely in a positive manner supporting our guys after a win). If we ever won the natty, would you support the team? Or would you point out that they got lucky and had too many turnovers, shot poorly, etc. etc. and still call for Brad’s head?
Fans were terrible! Announcers are terrible! When the kids are away, fill the stands with more kids, not adults who typically don’t get as loud as the student section. USC is a terrible basketball team , but they kicked our butt so….
@johnwalker4213 not the Boilermakers. Some coaches still believe in holding and developing their players not starting each postseason like it's fantasy basketball.
Championship, not with him unfortunately. A team has to win 6 games in a row and be able to adjust to situations. He mailed this in. Try zoning a few trips down, play both bigs, limit 3s when we’re in bonus. I’m tired of people having career games against Illinois Brad!!
6'7 Rashuan Agee is a former Chicago Public All City player and Illinois All Stater. He punked your front court today. Don't try and downplay what he did.... oh, and the loyal Illini faithful were leaving with 3:45 left on the clock 😆 😂 🤣
Players were sleeping, never woke up. They didn't have effort, evidenced by lack of rebounding, lack of defense, that's lack of effort. That's for the coaching staff to.
I love this team, but they came out flat from the start. I am disappointed in the lack of effort. Hopefully they were not partying and taking this game lightly, but it sure looked like it. I think Brad was late calling a couple of timeouts and let the game get away. This game was still winnable late.
Brad always lets someone go for season/career highs 2-3 times a year from a scrubby ass team. Never makes a defensive adjustment. Same thing with DJ Davis on Washington. They should’ve tried a zone since all Desmond did was make layups on them.
@@snapon29 I didn’t call him a scrub. I said scrub team, which they are. And I am also correct in stating that Brad’s teams let people go for season or career highs several times per year.
Brad outcoached again! Does not know when to put the right people in at the right times! Why not play Johnson and Ivisic at the same time, especially with our size advantage! We would have blitzed them! Brad would rather be their best friend than the coach that they badly need! He always says when they lose it's all on me and he's not lying!!!! He can recruit but cannot coach!!
@michaeldelgado2107 it was. I think Underwoods take was accurate though. Effort was low and there were coaching mistakes. Recognizing that is the sign of a good coach, not a bad one. Folks that somehow still think he is a bad coach need to go back to their caves. This is the most consistent success we've seen here in my lifetime.
@@illini4ever88Who cares about last years team and Brad Underwood is underachieving Juwan Howard as terrible as he was at Michigan went to 2 sweet sixteens and 1 elite 8 in a short tenure at Michigan. Last year’s elite 8 team was the first time Brad made it to the second weekend of the tournament in 7 seasons at Illinois.
For those of you who will inevitably say, "we'll learn from this." Well, here's what we learned: 1. Ivisic is softer than melted butter. Not ready for Big Ten physicality. And he never will be. 2. Brad can't make in-game adjustments. He never has and he never will. 3. Thus, good coaches plan for Brad and he can't adjust. 4. This is a Final Four Team? No, hard no.
They weren't ready to play today, and they weren't ready to play Washington after pounding Oregon either. Immature. Over hyped, not a final four team. All these great comments come after they have a lights out shooting game. And it is not very often. They don't even shoot 33% from three for the year. They take a lot of bad threes. I am sure I am not the only one to say this from the beginning, but I'll say it again. This team has a lot of careless turnovers, and midway through the season it shouldn't be happening. They all try to be too fancy with their passing. The two worst things you can do on offense are turn the ball over or take a bad shot. And they do a lot of both. And I'll say this again, as long as Ivisic can't make the puppies inside this team will not be a final four team let alone anything else. He just can't finish, very disappointing. I said over a month ago he should be shooting 100 shots a day in practice, starting with his back to the basket. And now he looks worse inside than then. Kofi couldn't be stopped one on one inside, but had nothing from the perimeter. Ivisic is the reverse. If he would demand a double team, with his passing ability that would open a lot more good looks. But why double a guy that can't finish. Rhetorical of course.
Guys played way soft. Gonna have to man up or not gonna go far. That was pathetic
I blame phantom traveling calls and incorrect out of bounds calls for five points too.
