I had travelled by rented car from Guwahati to Shillong just few days after 9/11 WTC attacks. The road trip alone was worth the entire holiday. I was in school then so i may be overstating it but the scenery by road alone can be other-wordly for many who don't travel a lot.

And than. Shillong airport to police bazar per person 500 for texi total 1500 to 2000

Tickets are cheap coz the airport is located almost 1&1/2 hours from the main city of Shillong which will cost you almost 1500/- to 1000/- by taxi 🚖. Which is almost the same from Guwahati ISBT to shillong by taxi 🚖

From Guwahati to Airport 45 min... Boarding time 40 min... again after reaching Shillong airport you have to hire a taxi to reach shillong city which will take another one hour..... which means if you go by car from Guwhati to shillong directly it will take the same time and secondly you will reach directly to shillong city. Only foolish people used to go by flight to shillong from ghy.

Could have easily taken a cab from Paltan bazaar to police bazar Shillong at a cheaper rate and would have reached Shillong way faster rather than by a flight.
Paltan Bazar to Guwahati Airport is 29km and Shillong airport to Shillong city is another 31km. Doesn’t make sense.
How much did u pay for going from palatan bazar to guwahati airport 😅 include that.

The GST guidelines, which came into force on July 18, 2022
Exempt the following destinations from GST.
Economy class tickets to and from:
Bagdogra (West Bengal)
North-Eastern States (Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland)
Guwahati is the cheaper version of Bengaluru. Ola/Uber is so costly, minimum 700-800 one way.

*The price will be like this only I guess..... Coz it really makes no sense for one to travel from within Ghy city!!!*
*First you take an hour taxi ride to ghy airport...then go through the formalities.....take flight...again go through formalities once reached....then another hour taxi ride to reach Shillong city centre.....!*
*The process will take you atleast 4-5hrs if not more!!! And still you're paying approx 1500/- per person which includes two hours of taxi ride!!! So people will prefer directly go with taxi only which takes around three hours and lesser per person expense!!!*
*It's for those who are willing to experience a flight journey....not for practical customers!!*

But it's not shillong where you land it's between guwahati & shillong. Totally half way. For going to police bazar from shillong airport you need to spend another 1500 + 1.5hour minimum. But from guwahati to shillong its 500 p/p & 2 . 5 hours
