All Qualifying Entries from the Czech Republic 🇨🇿 || Eurovision Song Contest

  • The Czech Republic, currently competing under the name Czechia, has qualified to the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest five times so far: 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, two of the qualifying entries have managed to finish in the top 10 of the respective years: "Lie to Me" by Mikolas Josef (6th place in 2018) and "My Sister's Crown" by Vesna (10th place in 2023).

    It's kinda weird and funny how the Czechs have never experienced a Grand Final without my country (The Netherlands) before!

    Why did it change to Czechia this year?

      "Czechia" started being used in official matters (diplomacy, international events) a couple of years ago alongside "the Czech Republic" and both are currently regarded as equally acceptable. It was, therefore, a matter of preference by the Czech delegation this year.

      I know your stance on this issue, but the term Czech Republic didn’t disappear or stop being used just because we switched to it in ESC. :)
