Transgender individuals don't 'change' their gender- they're ALWAYS the gender they eventually identify as, they just don't know it or express it yet.
What transgender people change are (USUALLY) their presentation (usually to match what is associated with their gender identity in their culture) and (often) seek to bring their physical traits into alignment with their gender identity as it alleviates the Phantom Limb type symptoms that go with gender dysphoria for many people.

I found out I was trans (MtF) when I was around 12. Looking back at my life, I can see that the signs were always there and I just didn't know being trans was a thing!
I vividly remember being 10, walking around my room and fantasising how I could change my gender when I grow up and live as a happy woman. Back then I wrote it off as "just one of the possibilities, it probably won't happen".
Now I look back at that time and think "We did it, young Ark. We succeeded".
Nice. It'd be nice to be able to go back and show off the progress made.
I was showing some pretty strong signs as young as 5, but it wasn't until I was 21 that I could actually understamd those feelings or why I had them. I went my whole childhood understanding I possessed the equipment to pee standing up while believing I was physically incapable of doing so.

I'm a woman but I don't really have any preferred pronouns. I get misgendered a lot at work, probably because of my short hair and the fact my clothes is baggy. This one time, a customer asked me for something and when she was leaving, her young daughter loudly asked "mommy was that a boy or a girl?" And I'm not gonna lie, it made me laugh a bit but made me feel good lmao

We once did a fun game of tell me about yourself and find out who the person is. Basically we had to write some generic stuff about our personality. Like favourite music, favourite sport, hobby, ideal partner, if there was one thing you could get rid of what would it be, and place you'd like to live. Then you'd hand the paper to the teacher and she'd read it out loud for the class to match the person. That's a better activity. And btw it was in religion class. To explain further in Italy we have a class one hour per week called religion. It doesn't even give you a mark but some judgment. In elementary school the teacher would explain parts of the Bible. Like a general overview of the Bible and it's contents and you know the things that happen. In highschool teachers use it either to start discussions or to talk about different religions in general. You can opt out of those by having your parents sign off on a form and you'd either be taken to a different class with a different teacher or if it's at the beginning or end of the day you can come in late or leave early. They usually try to put it at the last school hour in for the last year of highschool. So the people that have extra time to prepare for the final exam. I did religion classes I believe for a year or two as we didn't have the extra class for the people that opted out. And besides the teacher was really nice and smart. She'd do games like the one listed above. Or psychological stuff. Then she'd show us movies to comment on. Basically psychologically charged movies like In Time or The Giver and take points out of it for us to comment and discuss. They were primarily discussions on ethical topics questioning ethics in general. Like: What do you think about surrogacy? Did you know "farming" egg cells can be quite dangerous as it involves taking loads of meds and hormones that aren't that good in such high dosages for so long? Or Let's talk about the age old concept of poor people will always be poorer whilst rich people will be richer. After hearing that my dad made a good point saying this is tied in religion because religion in itself deals primalry with ethics. What is ethical and what isn't. And btw my teacher didn't bring God into it at all. She wouldn't make it about God.

"Alles halb so schwimm" is a joke that is taken from the german saying "alles halb so schlimm" (= it's not that bad), but it replaced the word "schlimm" (= "bad") with "schwimm" ("swim"), which sounds almost the same, but is fish themed.

Don't have to imagine it, sadly my sister and mom have said it many times with straight faces, and considering the fact that we have family in law enforcement, I would not be surprised if they got help in hiding my body. smh, they are the same people who promote all lives matter and how you shouldn't hold onto hatred, etc etc, but they draw the line at being queer and make fun of what little family that has come out (as far as I know since after said family came out I haven't seen them in years).
I guess that at least I can hold onto hope that my dad might've not held the same beliefs (he died when I was five) and that some of my family who live further away might be allies as well.
Sorry for the bummer rant but it is why I only buy incognito pride stuff to stay safe.
