Amen. I do be seeing people decieving themselves and I try to help and they get mad at me. Then I try to help people feeding homeless and dont ever give to recieve and trying to tell them about Jesus loves you. Lord said when you give don't take back. Look out for your neighbour as I did for you. Even when I do ppl take advantage and I still am learning to let it go. I don't want anything more than loving JESUS. I'm addicted to loving him. I just care for them. I'm such a people pleaser most times but now I'm just wanting to please the Lord now.

I didn't ask or seek any gifts, I only fell in Love with the father and all people, God gave me an abundance of gifts to bless people and the greatest gift out of all of them is Love it breaks so many chains.
I just went to a church tonight called Three Rivers Baptist Church in Fort Wayne Indiana that just Loved Jesus and took me in and it felt just SO loving and amazing. Just a small church that followed the word.
THAT is the best as so few churches are like that these days! So happy you found one that is.
If they followed the Word, they would not be protestant; one of over 40 thousand different non catholic "christian" denominations, each claiming to be going strictly by the bible and guuided by the Holy Spirit.

This sounds really weird but I feel like this is speaking directly to me!!
1) i've been VERY interested in learning languages recently and i noticed sometimes i spend more time learning languages just for the sake of it, more time than pursuing Jesus... and my motivation to learn languages is only for the sake of speaking it... but if I don't have love... then what's the point of it all??
2) last weekend i cleaned my room out COMPLETELY and i've been starting to sleep on the floor, i want to give away my bed, my wardrobe (i now have cardboard boxes for my clothes), and downgrade my desk with drawers to a 20$ ikea desk... but if i don't give away my belongings out of love... i gain nothing
3) LITERALLY today in English class I read Thoreau's essay "Where I lived and what I lived for" ... and i was offended, yes, offended, when i read this part he wrote
"For most men, it appears to me, are in a strange uncertainty about it, whether it is of the devil or of God, and have somewhat hastily concluded that it is the chief end of man here to "glorify God and enjoy him forever.""
Like he was being sarcastic about glorifying God!! Sarcastic about having a relationship with God!! And then, in 15:02 of the video, Francis says this phrase and I'm like HEY IT SOUNDS FAMILIAR!!! and i realized this is the saying Thoreau was quoting in his essay, which I just read earlier today!
4) The part where he says: "Don’t think where you are in life by saying oh I haven’t been lusting too much with this sin, no THINK HAVE YOU BEEN LOVING THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART MIND AND SOUL" like i 100% relate to this cause I haven't been lusting lately and I've been thinking, oh yeah, I'm good, as long as I'm not sinning like I used to I'm fine... but then I forgot to think... do I love God though??
5)Don’t get more excited about prophecy, rather than reading the word of God!! Lately I've been SO interested in end times prophecy and that's literally all i watch now and why i click the video, but i haven't been spending much time in God's word!
6)Don’t trust hearts thought feeling opinion, but trust GODS WORD! Lately I've been battling with choices and wrestling between whether to drop a class or not, but I haven't asked God or looked into God's word!
7)Flesh has no help at all, its the spirit who gives life! Two days ago I was thinking about a plan to help my athiest friend come to God, and thinking how I would explain to her the Bible and her to become christian
8) God is a real person.... I agree with Francis saying that and it ties into how today I realized that my teachers in school were human beings, real people too!! and it was so strange to realize that

12 years ago we were in a church and I was talking to one of the elders and I asked him how his knowledge of the OT was. His answer illustrated why Francis Chan's third point is so pertinent. He said " I really have not read much of it". So I asked him don't you think that if God has taken the time to give us a permanent written record of who He is, what He is on about, and what is important to Him that we ought to be delve into it. His answer was "but isn't it so much nicer/easier to just go up the front of the church and get a fresh word. His third point is very relevant.

The best any leader in Christianity can hope to aspire to is to be a vessel that God can use. Nothing more nothing less. Life giving water can flow from a silver jug or ceramic or ordinary clay pot. Not important. All that matters is the water. Best source of spiritual nourishment is the Bible.
Some people called Jesus the devil so I won't be surprise if people see someone trying to live in truth and find fault with him people must be able to identify the fruits of the spirit when they here a person preach

Francis Chan is a good minister. I have watched his videos for years. The only problem that hes having is that hes preaching to the masses and not everyone has hardships or troubles in this life. Yes alot of people have the life of riley so to speak. They have no health issues and they dont have oppression. They also dont want oppression. They can be accepted by society and sort of play the game. Health issues are what trouble the soul. Change the thought process of the hardened heart. Alot of people go to church that are so comfortable in their health and supported by family members that are around them that God and the Bible dont really apply. You stay where your comfortable. You would be a fool to leave comfortability to follow God. Its a tough and dangerous road, but God sees the sick, not the righteous. If your ready to follow God, put on your seat belt because all the people that support you will be gone in a second. Separate and follow. Walk and Trust.
Darin Weiland saying that he has that problem of just preaching to the ones that are needed, is all fine, Jesus said he came for those that are lost to seek and heal the sick, i mean if you cant find in him what you are looking for than, look some where else or just straight into Gods word.. Thank you for your reply. I guess I want everyone to find the entertainment in life and their have been entertaining processes happen in everyones life, but its a coincidence to them, not God. I guess over the years I have had the opportunity to fall in love with the wonderment and mystery of God. Did I know that I would have this computer that is connected to the internet and typing on this very moment. No. This computer came to me at a bus stop at like 12:45am. After I helped this lady out of the bushes. Its always after you take that step toward God that you find the reward at the end of the experience. Did I know that I would receive a computer for helping this old lady out of the bushes in the middle of the night? No. Didnt know the consequences for the action taken. Good Consequences. Only having the idea that God sees the action and rewards the appropriate party. This is the experience that keeps the fire burning. Thanks.

I know this isn't exactly what Francis is saying but what he was talking about kind of reminded me of this. finding joy in your suffering is a powerful testimony to the greatest commandment.

yea not literally but in light of his promises in the beatitudes, like "the meek will inherit the earth" so if we are found to be lined up with that promise then God will give us the earth... so its like St. John Chrysostom was saying that by God making promises to us He makes himself a debtor to us which is so awesome! not because then we have something on God and can now control him but HE SAID we'll inherit the earth and what he says happens so that's pretty awesome.

Christ did the works He saw the Father do, He only spoke what the Father spoke and He suffered as the perfect sacrifice for the redemption of man. We may suffer because we belong to the Lord. "If they hated me , they will hate you..", 1 Peter deals with this. If by suffering we could cause God to be in our debt, our salvation would be a work of the flesh. Its all FREE!! Praise the Lord!! Maybe this is crazy but I am astonished by some of the comments here. Some people love love love Francis Chan and seem overly in love with what he says... others HATE him?
I understand that there are some critics out there but this guy seems to me like he truely loves God. He seems like he truely loves God. BUT he is a man. Even David was wrong about some things but had a heart for God. We are not supposed to follow a man. Keep your eyes on Jesus! But there are lots of preachers that have hearts that love God and are a delight to my soul to watch them share. Even with that I need to read my Bible and get and stay close to the Lord. Yikes, some people listen to Francis Chan so that they can spew hate for him...

Dear Francis,
My son, Kawika, is an associate pastor at a church on Maui. Last year he found out that he had a rare form of cancer in the parotid gland (the official name is more complicated). Being a Christian, he sought God's will on the treatment of this cancer. He was led to have it surgically removed, but the doctor said he could not remove all of it. After much prayer and listening he and his wife felt a peace about doing the Gerson Therapy. He is presently on his 3rd month. During his "coffee breaks", as he calls it, he is able to seek the Lord and read His word. He had 5 or more of these "coffee breaks". Just in the past week the Lord God has shown him a truly radical truth about "Holy Spirit". I say this because I believe that many or most people don't truly realize these truths. I believe that these truths provide the answer to your question---- of how or why 5000 people in your previous church were not radically following the Lord in His teachings of actively evangelizing their world, the world. These truths need to be desemeniated into our thinking and our psyche, our spirits... The truths about our dear Holy Spirit.

Under the present crisis, the followers have been sifted and those that have endured to this hour the closeness of God is clearly felt each hour, each day. There is so much more Light to enjoy out in the open. Come out of the divided denominations the daughters of the whore of Babylon. The shadow of buildings cries for money to support clergy and grand buildings are heard and ignored, by the followers, the fans on gameday miss the milk, the care of the professional staff, the entertainment. Let them pay for it. Follow Jesus, reject the religion of the world.

You can’t reproduce spiritually until you grow up. We have many infants in our churches that haven’t matured yet. (I am pointing the finger at myself!) Maybe we’re busy for God without being in relationship with God. How many of us have a regular, disciplined bible reading life, a regular prayer life, etc. The Daily Office offers both and is found in the Book of Common Prayer. Guided praying 4 times a day and bible reading twice a day. Amazing!
The Bible says we are to PURSUE LOVE, not spiritual gifts. There is a big difference between pursuing a thing and desiring it. We are to desire spiritual gifts, but PURSUE LOVE.
1Corinthians 14:1 - Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
Also, an adulterous nation seeks after signs. Stop seeking miraculous signs and miracles.
Matthew 16:4 - A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away.
When was the last time you witnessed a miracle??

Stop trying to figure it out. First Corinthians 12 tells us to seek (desire) the best gifts. There are many gifts. Seek God first and simply asked to be used by Him and then listen.

That is true, to seek God and where he leads you but there are very specific gifts that the Holy Spirit gives and when you start asking God and maturing in Him he will reveal how you can be used for the body for His glory. Read, study and talk to a mature christian, 1 Corinthians 12. GOOD FOR YOU!!!

FIrst off this is Catholicism, second there are plain requirements given in scripture of how things are to be done in the church. All this guy is teaching is that u don’t need a bishop that is ordained and meets the biblical requirements to be in church and I’m telling you Francis Chan is spoken of perfectly in Jude.
What to do with a
prophecy ?
We ask other prophets to test the prophecy we were given
1 Cor 14: 29-32 The Spirit of Prophecy is subject to the prophets.
Rev 19: 11 The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophesy
Jesus is in control of all prophecy - anyone not under the control of Jesus is
a False Prophet.
Three types of Prophet / Prophecy
(1)
False Prophet - they know they are saying a lie
(2)
Mistaken Prophet - The prophecy may actually be God speaking to
them personally
(3)
True Prophet - They faithfully repeated what God
told them to say
It is a waste of time asking someone who does not have the
Gift of Prophecy as their reply can only be their own opinion.
It is good to read the Bible which is useful for teaching
and correction.
However the Bible will not tell us what to do in a specific situation. It can
only tell us what someone did in the past.
Rev 19:13 (Jesus) His Name is called “The Word
of God“
Heb 4: 12 For ” The Word of God “ is
alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to
dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and
attitudes of the heart.
When we want to know anything we should ask the Holy Spirit
John 14: 16-17 I will pray the Father, and he will give you another helper
that he may abide be with you forever, the “Spirit of Truth”
John 14: 26 The Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name,
He will teach you ALL THINGS
John 15:16 When he the “Spirit of Truth” comes he will guide you into ALL TRUTH.
If we are filled with the Holy Spirit he will clearly show us if a Prophecy is
true or false
Not all baptised Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit
Acts 8: 15-17 They prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for
as yet he had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptised in the name
of the Lord Jesus.
Then they laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said if you know the Truth the Truth will set you
free, if you know the Holy Spirit you will be free in any situation to know the
Truth.

Im seeking advice off anyone who reads this please. Im only a young Christian so I don't have all the answers so I have been asked a question I don't want to give an answer to. If 2 people in love say there vows on there own together in front of God will he hold them vows true?? Sorry if it sounds mad but I keep being asked for the answer???? jackie ramsbottom that is a great question I have thought on myself, I haven’t yet found the clear answer in scripture. I would ask what is stopping the couple from getting their vows done legally?
Hi there, I believe the vows would be binding unless the people concerned are not of age (e.g. still living in their parents' home or dependent on them financially), in which case their parents can nullify the vow if they hear of it and forbid it. You can read about vows in Numbers 30.
individuals in 21st century don't need religion preaching rather they need to aknowledage only God.
This is insane.. I always watch this particular pastor every sunday (not francis chan)and i have been led to stop, and it as for this purpose exactly. I even typed in the live chat saying this last night. People are looking for the experience, the music, etc. and the church was focusing on that and not searching for Jesus. Well what do you know, they kicked me from the chat! haha whatever, at least im not crazy haha although i do like the pastor but feel maybe they are getting lost in that direction.
But wasn't tongues meant to edify the church ... The disciples spoke in tongues and eveyone understood in their own language.

Also you linked all 5000 people in your past church to being children of GOD. Well sir that's false. The only way that could be true is if all 5000 WERE NOT COMMITTING OR LIVING a life of premeditated willful lake of fire type sins. Thats why the bible says the tares among the wheat. If someone is going to church and committing these types of sins, their not born again and there not children of THE HOLY GOD, the children of a god/satan. But not the true HOLY GOD. Not even close.

If jesus is God.. How about Adam, he came b4 jesus.. Then ADAM is bigger GOD then.. Jesus did not have father only.. If that make him God. How about ADAM he dint have father and mother.. Stop fooling people and yourself..

The gift we all have to offer is to go house to house and preach the gospel to every creature. Don’t expect to be a Benny hin slapping people and giving futuristic statements.. just preach the gospel, it is the power of God unto salvation. And this guy has a form of godliness denying the power thereof.

I like some of his teaching but you are really off here...not a Biblical teaching. Did not Paul in most of his writings...CALL by name those wolves in sheep's clothing that had crept into the church in Paul's day in fact Paul even calls out Peter (a pillar of the "Temple"...to use his words) when he began to lead the church away into following Judaism customs...I am against causing division in the church....BUT I am all for calling out false teachers, prophets, etc. and so were the disciples early church fathers etc!!!! Now a days we are just supposed to accept any all all teachings? doctrines? if it's mostly true and partly false? or vise versa...people be Bereans and study God's word for yourselves, even if they are one of your favorite teachers, confirm ALL teachings with the consistency of the WORD of God. After all we are headed to a ONE WORLD RELIGION...no division allowed!!!
