I’ve been a massive fan of Kyuss for about 20 years, yet have never seen this video before….and I think it may be one of my favourite music videos of all time
The most underrated yet massively influential (to this day even) bands of the NINETIES & early 2000's. Kyuss was a perfect combination of musical interests between those 4 kats. Kyuss disappeared as fast as they arrived and could possibly steamroll right on through that unforgiving desert. Their influence however has and will continue to, spread far and wide across many dimensions & MultiVerses, through space & time🔥☠️🔥
Saw them only once in the Summer 95 , In Belgium's best alternative festival . We also had Monster Magnet ( in phenomenal shape + album ) and the Pumpkins / Porno Fr Pyros . Amazing afternoon with a little bit of ecstasy to boost it all 👌
I’m 53. In the early 90’s I go hours to see them. Little. Clubs. They opened for WEEN. AMAZING. saw them in Vegas and San Fran Went on their bus with their manager. They were setting white bread and bologna and American cheese. Dirt broke
You know how I found them back in the day? TOOL covered Demon Cleaner in a tour and naturally gave them the credit they deserved for it but it was fresh to my ears when I heard it and just looked up Kyuss afterwards.

I have had the privilege of seeing Kyuss live as I'm sure most of you have too and in that we all have one of the greatest shared experiences in music. They were in London and were perfection, although Josh managed to blow his amp during Gardenia. Luckily they had a spare and the magic continued. I met John Garcia after the gig and he was a friendly, down to earth humble man who was genuinely happy to have met his fans. A great day.
So damn hypnotic. Just like the lyrics of most of their songs, the music video can be interpreted in any way too. I like that about Kyuss, never straight forward. Always in every direction possible. Also love that they smile near the end.

I’ve smoked weed many many times - especially back in the 70s and 80s, and then a return to form for 2022, 2023 now that I’m 61. I can tell you, it can be fun and interesting, however, like anything it can be overdone and the enjoyment lost in the repeats. I would not make a rule to smoke weed, then again I would not make a rule to smoke weed. It can get in the way depending on your personality

@@byrondean Dude, Sabbath are my favorite metal band - I've listened to all of their classic albums countless times. They inspired stoner metal, but they didn't invent it - that term was about 20 years away from existing when Sabbath's first album of bluesy heavy rock with a dark edge was released.
I love when the record labels share their artists with us all.Usually on YT I am cursing WMG and its imprints for blocking all the good stuff.I miss the time when you could find songs/bands like this on a whacked out compilation or mix album (like I did).Keep going strong Kyuss.

For them to consider doing a cover, let alone actually doing one, is a big sign of respect and worth, from someone real, which tool are. A proud band showing a sign of respect is something. I remember there was a hype with the queens round 2004, it felt to me that i was being force fed with the queens..i guess it wSnt the 1st time- never actually liked them much..The whole stoner rock thing had already tired me. My personal favs of the genre are mostly doom (still whatever band might be labeled like that) and not stoner. Since having been a sabbath nerd aready by the age of 12, i consequently got into doom. My fav bands are: 1) Saint Vitus & sleep 2) Cathedral (first 3 EPs and 3 LPs) & candlemass (first 3 LPs) 3) pentagram (early stuff, with a few more recent releases) Should mention a few others like trouble & electric wizard. I didnt get deeper to the scene of doom nor stoner, maybe i was getting tired of the sound, maybe all the rest of the bands sounded the same both in tone & riffs, like orange goblin, spiritualbeggars, acid king etc.. Sure i might have missed a couple of bands till this day ever since i stopped listening to new bands, that play in such a way that brings life to the genre. Glad for any recommendations. Most people I met who were QOTSA fans that hadn't heard Kyuss didn't care for Kyuss much when I introduced the band to them. QOTSA are decent but not as good
I was taking a lot... A LOT... of hallucinogens when this album was heavy on my listen list and in all the clubs I went to and everyones house I visited. 30 years later, anytime I hear this album while sitting uninterrupted in a quiet room I start to get flashback trips. Hawkwind is the only other band that has done that to me.

When I first heard it in '94 my term for it was neopsychedelic. That thick bass sound combined with Josh playing on the neck pickup with heavy distortion, and most of all . . . . that groove, it all reminded me of a type of sound I hadn't heard since Blue Cheer in 1968, pretty close to the apex of psychedelia. Since then the term neopsychedelic has been co-opted and nowadays it applies to many bands that barely deserve having that term applied to them, if at all.

I found a way to blast Kyuss/Pantera/Static-X over the (large pizza chain) store sound system - aux cable. Made work bearable.
