Congratulations well done! I built my first skiff and completely understand all the work involved. Watching your video brought back lots of memories! Boat looks great, hope she catches lots of fish.

I love that Stringer / Center section drain you added. Very cool. Was that in the design?

Love it! Great job. I am in the market for one. I am looking at Simple Skiffs. But want the hatches and storage capacity of what you did. Much like the original Whiprays of the late 1990’s. Maybe I can buy the hull and deck from Simple Skiffs, then take it to a glass shop to do bulkheads and large hatch lids with deep gutters. The other boat I am looking at is the East Cape Glide. It has all the features I want, but the Conchfish has more stability and more capacity, yet about the same weight, draft, dry ride, speed for the same power, similar fuel economy, and great poling characteristics.

Talk to the guys are simple skiffs and see if they will build you one with just bulkheads front and rear then have a shop install hatches.

The glide is a sweet little skiff. East cape makes very nice boats. All about budget and what you want out of it. Early whiprays are the dream skiff to me I just love the simplicity in design. Chris morejohn is a great person.

What do you think you had in the hull and cap price and amount of time

Materials were a bit cheaper then maybe $5k in material and paint plus free foam scraps from Chittum. It took a little over a year n a half not working on it everyday though. Could be done in less than a year easily. This was the first time I ever worked with fiberglass and fairing compounds.

What paint did you use for the hull?

May I ask what the ballpark cost was to build the hull?

For just the bare hull with paint, no electronics or accessories I’d guess around $6500.
