- EDDIE VEDDER and THE EARTHLINGS cover the CURE classic JUST LIKE HEAVEN at their live concert in Las Vegas at Dolby Live on 10/7/22. THANK YOU EDDIE VEDDER and friends! What an INCREDIBLE show! We ALL needed this! Footage shot with my iPhone 12 Pro.

An absolutely perfect pop song 💙💙💙
J O S H K L I N G H O F F E R !!!
He's using a teleprompter. I'd need one too, but he's a pro.
Hello Glen,
how're you doing,
Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you.
Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
@@eddievedder7546 Hey Eddie. I'm doing good. Thanks for asking. Love you too, but using a teleprompter has a distracting look to it, and it reduces your engagement with your fans at the show (and RUclips, I guess). I don't think it's worth doing unfamiliar material if you need to use a teleprompter. I'd rather have you bungle the lyrics (like the rest of us do) or pick something you can more effortlessly put your heart into. This felt contrived. Take care.
🤙🏼😎🤙🏼
This was fun!!! But....a wake up call of how long it's been since I've been to dance party! ( like when this song was on the charts) Better fix that!
LOL! Still can't understand a effin' this man says! Still love him to pieces though!
Melatron makes this song
Eddie Vedder dancing as robert smith. Fantastic!!
Pure happiness and adoration. I love Eddie!!!!!!
No exaggeration, this has to be one of the best songs in rock history.
is true
I literally never get tired of it almost 40 years later
A perfect pop song !!! 💙
No its really not the best rock song
Must be, because everyone under the sun has covered it. Not that I'm complaining.
The Cure is my longest favorite band. When Pearl Jam hit the charts in the 90s, The Cure was already my favorite band. Pearl Jam became a top favorite within a few years The two are in my top 5 absolute favorite bands of all time. To hear Eddie Vedder sing this Cure song is like a dream come true! Just like heaven for me
What are the other three? Hope there is The Smiths, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Soundgarden or the Pixies among them.
Me too . Love the smiths as well ^^
As a kid growing up in Salt Lake City in the 1980's, The Cure was one of the bands that defined the soundtrack of my teenage years, now over 30 years later, my life has had some amazing, wildly improbable twists and turns, one of which is that next week, I will be seeing The Cure in concert, here in my new, adopted hometown, historic, hauntingly beautiful Krakow, Poland...
As one of my other longtime favorite bands (the Grateful Dead) used to sing, "...What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been..."
Same for me, this is one of my fave Cure songs…The Edge of The Deep Green Sea tops it though!! One of the best songs ever imho.
@@daskleinegluck4553 Haha! I was thinking the same thing, and Soundgarden are indeed on my list, Badmotorfinger being, imho, one of the best albums ever made. RIP, Chris Cornell. And Kurt Cobain. And so many others. Why are all our generation's best rock stars dead except Eddie?
Eddie's choices and range only shows how open he truly is to music. He has no hang-ups about doing one particular kind of music and that makes him awesome!
This is why I love Eddie Vedder. He is so unpredictable in his cover choices. Crowded House, Tom Petty, and now The Cure...
I love a well done cover. A good portion of my catalog is cover tunes.
@Craig Robinson he has good bits and bad bits, just like the rest of us. What are you doing with your good bits?
Yuppppp
Yes love uuu
I wish he would cover “Both Sides Now” slow version by Joni Mitchell to play at my funeral.
El maestro interpreta a otro maestro, eso es realmente iconico , leyendas del rock
Bien comentado !!🎉
Eddie Vedder great artist but my love Robert Smith ..the greatest of all😍😍
Hello, how are you doing? it’s nice seeing you here.
Big Cure fan here. I was pleasantly surprised. One of the best covers of this song ive ever heard. Props
ditto!!
It’s one of my favorite songs of all time. He was pretty great 😊
I think it’s by far the best cover ever. I love Eddie too. So I watched
Good Job Eddie!!
Idk about that.... Dinosaur Jr's is pretty high up there. But its dope Vedder covered it -- ruclips.net/video/I3eQGBYEFhE/видео.html
I'm fan of both Vedder & The Cure, it's a beautiful cover. There are some special persons in this world who have everything allowed; Eddie is one of them.
When Pearl Jam meet The Cure…. You just got to love Eddie Vedder … how I envy his wife
Excellent cover!!!!! I love it when Ed learns a new one!!!!
Yesss ♥ great music is meant to be shared. I love both Pearl Jam and The Cure and this warms my heart
Hello how, are you doing? it’s nice seeing you here.
This was amazing! Such a beautiful version, but it brings up horrible memories from standing in the crowd, watching Pearl Jam waiting for The Cure, and hearing Eddie in tears asking people to please back up since people have died.
I never knew Ed could dance like that. *swoon*
Hello, how are you doing? it’s nice seeing you here.
One of the Best Cure song's! With one of the bests vocals!
Song is
THIS is not one of the best Cure songs sonny...nice song but not even in The Cure's top 10...top 20 perhaps.
The only thing better would be Jill up there Dancing with him 😉
He clearly loves this song. How could you not?
It was amazing to be in this crowd tonight
Love your thumbnail!
It took a great cover for me to appreciate what a gorgeous song this is.
Eddie Vedder has a much more melodical voice than Robert Smith making this cover even more amazing!
👍👍👍
Love both Robert and Eddie
❤ And I thought Eddie couldn’t get any cooler. Great cover
If somebody asks me "You're never gonna guess what song Eddie Vedder covered" I'll answer "You're right." Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! Very impressive Mr. Vedder. I’m sure Robert Smith is more than flattered…awesome!!
That's WILD! As a long time Cure fan, AND someone who also participated in lockdown dance parties with friends, this story, as well as cover blows my mind. Well done!
Dinosaur Jr has the best cover of this song
my heart swelled with pure happiness hearing the story and then seeing the performance. I've been having a sh!t day and am not the Pearl Jam/Vedder fan i was in my youth, but this was just perfect. Funny how sometimes the right thing hits you at the perfect time.
As much as I love Pearl Jam no other music moves me like the 80's. Best decade EVER for music.
The song starts at 2:05
Oh my God!!! This is was fantastic!!!!!
Such a gorgeous , perfect song. Thank you Eddie
Eddie is softening in his old age. Good for him.
Who else would have given one of their legs (afterwards of course) to be part of the Eddie Vedder garage dance party?
Thanks for sharing!!
Ed & band rocked it, as always ♥️
Hello, how are you doing? it’s nice seeing you here.
This is so good! I've never heard him sound quite like this before! ❣️
As possible, this man is getting better with age . What a fantastic front man
This was awesome. I think Jill live-streamed one of these wild dance parties and EV said “what are you doing?” Then it ended… So much fun and was awesome to share the dance Friday night. Thanks for grabbing this.
OMG!!! I lov them ♥
Awesome cover!
Totally did the song Justice! (lifelong Cure fan)
I miss happy, upbeat songs like this. Today's music is such depressing, mundane, monotonous trash.
When one all time favourite band covers another all time favourite band! Great, I love it!
Vedders Voice is so bad...sorry to hear....loved his voice in the 90th.
Eu vivi pra ouvir isso... 🥹 Que lindo, que lindo, que lindo... A vida é boa, a vida é muito boa!
My favorite singer of the ‘90s performes my favorite song of the ‘80. And I can picture him dancing with swaying arms. As if I haven’t loved him before very much.
Imagine to see one of my fav singers do a cover of one of my favourite song
that's a very cool lineup fora band! And I just love The Cure... I'm happy that Eddie Veddertook Josh in his band.
everybody who listen to the cure is going psychedelic, including eddie
great to see Josh got picked up by another artist
OMG. Big smile 😊 Thank you for uploading this! x
I would have paid money to see that in person. lol.. The Cure is one of the best bands EVER and this is such an amazing song. I can only imagine you and your wife dancing to this song in your garage. Classic.
Now if he can just cover a Joy Divison song.
Now I wonder what Eddie could do with "Close to me"...
Absolutely fantastic ❤❤❤❤
I love this. One of my all-time favorites singing one of my all-time favorite band's classic song.
I graduated High school in 1984 (thank God!), so I hit The Cure at a perfect time. I'm kind of a Cure purist you might say. Having said that, I think this cover is the best I have ever heard. So we'll done! EV was fantastic! He obviously loves this song....
I have a category of saved songs titled "Eddie Vedder Sings Everyone's Songs but Better" and I usually overwhelmingly think, yeah, Eddie just elevated that great song to a whole new level. I can't think of any other singer who so often consistently does that.
I love Eddie's version here, and if I didn't know The Cure's version, I just wouldn't have thought much more about it. But there's something about Robert Smith's voice and performance of the song and otherworldly "Gothiness" that makes it work better for me. Robert Smith seems like a contradiction with his dark make-up, singing quite a joyful yet still under it all subtly musically melancholic version of his own song. It just works, so much so that it was played all over the radio and in many movies in its time. Eddie's version is great - intense, subtle, nuanced as ever - but IMHO, this is maybe 1 of 2 times that he performed a song and I ended up liking the original better, which is of course completely subjective and to be expected. I absolutely love that he honors other artists by performing, as a fellow fan, their iconic songs. It's just one of the few times that I didn't wish we could switch it to his version on the radio. Kudos all, to our national treasure Eddie Vedder and to The Cure.
Really good to read and im dying to know which other original song held its own against EV's version?
@@matthewlacey5307 it was his performance of Man on the Moon with REM, a song and a band that I really like. It wasn't Eddie's or Michael Stipe's performances on their own, and I don't fault either of them. For me, they just don't jive well together. Stipe has a looser style live, and whether it's because of the idiosyncrasies of his voice or his style of performance, he doesn't always hit his notes as they're sung on the album. That's fine - lots of singers do that live. But Eddie is nearly always pitch perfect - it really is amazing to hear him live as it's usually better than on the albums. He hits pretty much every note right on the head, or reinterprets songs live in a really engaging way. It's interesting, because most everything else about his stage presence appears loose and informally friendly while Michael Stipe always appears kind of intense, otherworldly and a bit reserved, shy, serious. Objectively, I would think this might work because they seem like foils for each other. But, even though I love REM, Eddie's exact but widely ranging and emotionally engaging singing makes Michael sound a bit off, rigid, and a little sloppy to me, which he doesn't sound to me when he sings it on his own.
Contrast that with Eddie's performance of Rockin' in the Free World and Mothers of the Disappeared with U2. I thought "Uh-oh" when I discovered these because U2 has been my favorite band since I was tiny. I. couldn't shake them if I tried. And though Bono often has great pitch, now and then he hits a sour note, and yet keeps on going strong. I've never seen a more confident performer. Maybe too confident, lol. He's also a looser performer in that he never sings the same song in the same way twice. So I didn't want to see him fall short as I thought Michael Stipe sounded like he had in singing with Eddie on stage. But the vibe of U2, largely due to Bono and even Edge's informal, really likable friendliness was a perfect match I thought for Eddie's similarly lovable stage presence. Bono might not have hit every note like Eddie did, and doesn't have Eddie's incredible range, but he does have a unique and great voice, and sings with an abundance of confidence, enthusiasm, and professionalism. So the vibe on stage was one of mutual appreciation and experience and friendliness, and they all got on like buddies.
I should say that I would love to hear Eddie sing all of Mothers of the Disappeared. He really made it his own in the verse or two he sang. I'd just like to hear him cover it on his own.
Not what I expected. Good cover.
When you love The Cure AND RHCP ❤️😍
I love how Eddie does a Cure style 80’s dance during the intro.
The Cure King of rock 👑
🖤🤎🖤🤎🖤🤎🖤🤎🖤
Goosebumps!!!
Hello, how are you doing? it’s nice seeing you here.
Eddie .. You never know what he is going pull out his hat!
Hello John,
how're you doing,
Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you.
Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
Yup, he’s an 80s kid also.
I love the CURE!!! And obviously if u know me I'm a PEARL JAM fanatic. He and this band covered the CURE better then anyone could even dream possible. I would love to hear him do this at a live show. The CURE should be honored just as much as Eddie and the band were honored to cover it and they killed it. 💯🔥♥️🤙. Now I need to go listen to some cure after this✌️♥️😉 p.s ya know I would actually like to hear Miley Cyrus cove a cure song. I'm sry but no not sorry she has an amazing voice and does amazing covers. She covered PJ's just breathe and I was instantly a fan when I heard it...
