  • Here I play with Eli Miller, Zack Olson and Tyler.
    Eli works for Srixon / Cleveland / XXIO in marketing (twitter is @EliMiller and he invited me to play Rio Hondo in Downey, CA with him and his colleague Zack Olson. They play a regular company tournament in the summers here so this was their second 18 holes. This is the first 9, the second 9 will be out in a few days where Zack and I play a match.
    Thanks to Dr. Josh who sent me this sweet Masters 2017 hat in the mail!

    I'd leave the swing analysis to the experts. "He came out of that one a bit" doesn't really cut it.
    If you're going to analyze swings, at least film from the proper angle.

      I agree and as much as like Brendon, he is not qualified to be giving "swing analysis." Sure, do it to your own swings and you can give a pointer here and there, but just because you have seen a few instructors doesnt mean you are a qualified pro who can give lessons. I wish this channel would go back to Vlogs and his lessons, rather than Brendon giving advice or telling us which training aid to use.

    • @watanabetsune
      @watanabetsune 7 лет назад +2

      I'll have to agree and say that his analysis of people's swing isn't very good. There is always a point where the hips should stop turning on the backswing (45 degree is the usual standard) and the hips stalling don't usually care a pull but a slice or push on the downswing. Also if the ball seem like it's dropping out the sky is due to low ball spin not high ball spin.

    Looks like you play a lot of loft on your chips just off the green...? I have been taught to use the lowest lofted club to get the ball rolling sooner. Maybe a 7 iron instead of 56 for example...Thoughts?

    Good mix of different styles in that group. Worked well. Would be good to see those guys again. Regular players on the channel help viewers to connect and relate more. People are instinctively drawn (and comfortable) to continunity. For good or bad. It works really well with AussieGolfReviewer channel for example. 'Get to know the players individual games etc I realise your scheduling could impede that though Brendon.
    Nice to review new player's swings to the channel with some slo-mo etc. And then re-cap in the future after changes.. not all the time though I'd say.
    Great vlog as always bud.

  • @pauljeffery8057
    @pauljeffery8057 7 лет назад

    Hi Brendon some of your shots close to the green you seem to be using a more lofted club than you should be and a bump and run with a nine or a eight might have been a better choice. Mind you I cant see the angles on the green so that might be why.

  • @cliffhregis
    @cliffhregis 7 лет назад

    Hi Brandon luv your vlogs btw! At 17:09 I notice that your head is forward of the ball or at least "pointing" past the ball. I recall one of your swing thoughts was the "cold wall" idea were you try to stay behind the ball. IMHO the cold wall idea is a good thought to have, i know that it helped me. thanks

    Swing looks pretty good. One thing I did notice is on your pitch/chip shots your practice swing is HUGE. And you were long on most of the shots. Just my two cents. Would love to play you heads up down here in Tucson. Good luck and thanks for the channel

    Watched a good handful of your videos, on this one at hole 5 when you right next the little tree and other videos I watched, I REALLY think you need to work on a FLOP shot here and when you get short sided. REALLY get a CLEAR image of your landing spots, Look at your landing zone and KEEP that in you mind AS you take a couple of practice swings. WORK on your flop shot and locking your wrists on other short chips, take them out of your short game!! I apologize if that does not come across more positive!! It is a lot of fun to watch you, you love the game!!

  • @gregn7868
    @gregn7868 7 лет назад +1

    Eli's gotta get those shoulders opening through impact. I'd guess from a face on you'd see some the hands turning over super fast at the bottom & maybe some underflip. You can see the club is closed and hands high on the exit.

    • @BEBETTERGOLF
      @BEBETTERGOLF  7 лет назад +1

      In what way are they better? I just think the vokey's wear out.

    • @travishernandez2193
      @travishernandez2193 7 лет назад +1

      First off I would say I preferred the head shape over the new sm6 vokeys but that's just me. The feel of the Clevelands are a bit softer and have better feed back I noticed right away. Last I've noticed more spin around the greens either bc of the groves or the v grind. Just try them out, you'll know if they're better or not right away. I totally agree with the Vokeys grooves wearing out, they only seem to last me about a year and a half that's bc I play once a week.

    great video. really enjoyed it. a couple of my observations. all those guys have nice swings . and I wish I had nets on my courses to protect my ball from going OB!!! If your keeping an honest hc shouldn't it be a penalty if you hit the net?

    • @BEBETTERGOLF
      @BEBETTERGOLF  7 лет назад +1

      nope, it's about where the ball ends up, it could technically fly 50 yards out of bounds then hit a basketball backboard then a sidewalk then roll 1 inch in bounds and you are all good. I think.

  • @Kaos033
    @Kaos033 7 лет назад

    I said it before and I will say it again...dude you have a flat shoulder turn and you come out of your spine angle on your backswing. Days your timing is on, you hit it fine, but when it is off, you seem to struggle off the tee. I noticed that your shoulder turn is better on your shot irons than with long clubs. Draw I line at address through your spin and you will see you lift out of it (sometimes worse than others). If you draw a line at the top of your head at address, you break that plane. All pros have a head lowering from the address position. If you will rotate your shoulders more around your spine you will find that your hips will not get wild as often. A flat shoulder turn and lifting out of your spine angle can also lead to lifting out of your spine angle at impact resulting in wild pulls or shots going way right. Look at Zach. He comes out of his spine angle horribly at impact and is almost standing straight up! You are not that bad. Yours is more lifting of the upper body on your backswing. You need to work on the shoulder turn drill so that the club across your shoulders points down more toward the ball. I did a line analysis of your shoulder turn and it points way out to the right (left should if a club was attached to it). I find it incredible that so many "instructors" miss such a basic thing, that is, too flat or horizontal of a shoulder turn that leads to lifting out of your spine angle on the backswing. Head lifting above its address position is a dead give-away!

    imo,at 8:55 zacks not lined up correctly.his shoulder line is way left and his ball seems to follow that line instead of his feet line.need to match them up. i see my friends do this all the time and there ball always goes left... look at eli at 10:40 this is what zack needs to look like.shoulders+feet all lined up..

    you've ruined what was such a good channel, those "swing analyses" are awful. such a shame. you should've listened to Bobby Lopez about the channel but you've done the opposite
