Private equity sounds like a mechanism that extracts the most amount of value from a business, and transfers that wealth to the few general partners.
Everyone loses - the business, the employees, the local consumers, the tax payers.... except for the general partners!

no cap one of the best videos about having a good life while working in an industry like that. I am 16 and I wanna do economics or some shit in college but the more videos I watched about working in the finance area the more I realized how much of a slave you have to be. thanks for posting this video because it really gave me a different perspective on what life can be while working in finance. props to you for wanting to pursue other endeavors. keep up the content. great video
Still do econ because it’s so broad, I’m studying economics rn and I can major in law or cs if I want 😂😂
I agree videos like this make me rethink my decisions .
This semester I took my first finance course. Our Professor told us that Econ is the father of finance. You can still get any job in finance with an Econ degree!
No do math degree and minor in finance
@@davidc4408 Agreed, math degrees can get you into finance but doesn't limit you at all, more versatile than a business/econ degree on the well paid and technical side of industries. Paired with a double degree or majors/minors in a secondary field is a powerful combination.
You're 20 and already in PE 😢. Great stuff. Follow your passion man. I like that you're pursuing your own side hustle
As part of my retirement plans and also owing to the very shaky housing market now, I just sold a property in Philly and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $200k gains in months, I'm really just confused at this point....
Yes, a good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge, And it also all depends on how long you're willing to hold for, stocks might likely tank further, but making serious gains in this downtrend wouldn't be a problem if you're a pro...
@VioletDorothy90 That's impressive, my portfolio have been tanking all year, tried learning new strategies to gain in the current market but all of that flew right over head, please would you mind suggesting the adviser you're using ?
@VioletDorothy90 Thanks a lot for this suggestion. I needed this myself, I looked her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
It all depends on your risk appetite and time horizon. It's best not too compare your bank account to someone else's...especially in the money game
You have a bright future. Stay focused. When you continue to achieve the women will come after you. Please consider having an email address available for your viewers. You never know, maybe some older people will want to help you. When people see how you live, then they’re more willing to help you. I’d rather help someone who’s already working their butt off rather than someone who moans about how they never get the breaks. Keep up the great work.
Noted Paul, thanks for the insight. I updated the description.
Keep working my guy. I love the real & honest content 🙌🏽
A little advice. The people on your call between 3:05-3:15 are shown which probably isn't good and may lead to problems. I suggest fixing it ASAP!
only 40 seconds in. and already subbed. this dudes humor is what im looking for in a video lol. very informative also
Based on your experience as a private equity analyst and also your own entrepreneur pursuits would you recommend the finance industry as a good stepping stone for someone who wants to run a business one day?
No. Strategy consulting would better if you want a corporate foundation. Best is to just start.
You can cook, clean, and work like a beast! You're all that.
using a mac in finance?? yeah this aint official
lol that’s my own laptop, we were working in the meeting room
lol
Running light models - maybe IDK
I do the same thing bro
I only use a mac for zoom calls. No way i’m able to do financial modeling on a mac lol
Hey Evan, love your editing. Was wondering if you offer any resources / advice when it comes to case studies (interviews) or perhaps a video on it?
Hey Elvin, I personally don't want to be putting out an interview tip video because I find it kinda boring, but anything technical in Finance is usually the various approaches to valuation + accounting. Literally search up "How to make a DCF" or "What is the CAPM model" you will find all the answers you need. Also refer to the BIWS 400 questions.
man your video has helped me a ton, i was always interested in pe because i love finance but also like business in general. I feel like these fields come together well in PE, is that a correct assumption?
Edit: you mentioned you were 20, what education do you have?
I do 1000 crunches before breakfast and where a face mask.
Very informative, very interesting video. Keep up the uploads
Nice to see another messy cook! Feels like everyone I watch is so perfect never spilling anything lol. Great video seeing some insight into PE as well
Look at bro on the right at 0:53
it’s a failure set
Bruh, Idk how you manage to do all that. You're doing great! Keep up the vids.
Being on-call as a cop is really shitty because their is always a boss working 24/7 and they will call you and don't give a shit if you have slept or not.
Great video! Thanks so much for all the insight into a day in the life in a position I'm trying to break into, it's extremely helpful. I cold-called my way into my AM internship too lol, do you have any advice on characteristics that helped you get to where you are?
You’re resume must be very impressive to have landed an interview off cold calling
PE job at 20 is super impressive man, did you graduate early?
Good video. No stress vibes, good ration of private + professional moments. Keep up the good work, your energy will take you far. Also, you beeping out all the best words lmao

The intro is so hilarious🤣
Nice video, good quality. We need you to give us more details about your work..maybe it's a great idea to be the second video on your channel or the third, the important is to go more deep than just a day routine.
Hey Yassine, I would but it would probably impede on certain company policies that I don't want to uncover.
most realistic video i’ve seen about the industry. i work in PE too (more VC actually). i’m an investment intern btw.
Best of luck with your career, if you need any help - just let me know.
@@economicsethan cool!
Did you find you had any internships that helped you get a better grasp on the financial world that prepared you for the PE case study interviews ?
Internships are a great idea and can help you get used to the finance working environment. I can help you prepare for PE case studies, just let me know. Thanks.
Cooking for yourself vs restaurants is top tier
Bro how are you 20 and in PE??? Did you graduate early or something?
Hope this channel grows and does well.
I really liked this video I was sad when I went on your page and daw its one of 2 vids. keep going.
great video. appreciate the authenticity.
Great video man, keep going
Can u talk more about the cold emailing and who specifically you contacted? like what was their role
in the video i said cold called, if you can reach someone at a senior position (i did on accident) they would appreciate your cold call and most likely take your resume. Obviously you can’t do this at bigger shops bc you’ll reach an office manager or smt so you can find the firms email pattern and cold email them to coffee chat.
This is a great video bro!!!
Hey man, it's sad when i found out this is your only first video cuz I wanna see more when i've just watched for 30second, everything you said is true. Keep up your great work and I already hit the subcribe button.
Hey man while this might be off topic, can you provide some other recipes that are healthy? Trying to eat healthier and make meal preps, cheers!
As a MC I have to ask, no daily Coco and hookah's, but once a week? xD
hey, I next month I am going to start studying businessmathematics in berlin
I am still not sure if what exactly I am going to be doing after I finish my degree, but this for sure seems like a cool lifestyle to me,
may I ask if you went to college and if so, what was your major?
Can you make a video about how you got your job as Private Equity Analyst at the age of 20?
Thats what i have always wondered about whther you work almost 80h straight or is it more like that everbody stays that long in the office because others do as well and its more about talking about it than actually working their asses off every second
keep it up bud! Great work
Great video bro!
Hello. Please tell me how you can very quickly agree on a 50 billion M&A program with an employee or trainee of an investment bank?
If life gives you lemon, you make lemonades, so at this point instead of waiting for stocks to crash or recovery, focus on how to profit off the current market, Bloomberg, WSJ, BBC business(just to mention a few) have been recording cases of folks averaging 350k in 12weeks, so there's money being moved around if you know where you're looking.
i love the Honesty
Hi amazing video!!! keep up the good work! I would like to work in an investment firm oneday as an analyst (either investment bank or private equity), and obviously since the industry is very competitive to get in, I was wondering if you could give me some insight about some odd jobs in the industry that could help me get a foot inside the door like a photocopie associate in the printing department, or a job in the mailroom , or a clerc. I might not get the analyst job but it would be good to get one of those odd jobs in the firm to start of with. Thanks
0:55 bro on the right doing half reps like nothing hahah
Great channel
Thanks for keeping it real!
What is the use of that little device connected to your laptop?
where is the tank that you wore to the gym from?
If you’re only 20 then did u not go to college or are you working whilst also pursuing your degree?
Not to impede on personal information, but what is the salary range for your specific shop?
Do you ever get lonely? If yes how do you deal with it?
Did you go into ib before this? And if not, do you think you’re missing out on the modeling and other experience you would’ve gotten in ib?
Great comment, I think IB is probably the best route, at least for the first 2-3 years of your career. The long hours will pay off as you will have several years of good experience. After IB you can move to PE and have reduced hours but still with great pay.
Cool vid man 🐐
20? Did you skip a few years. Because I’ll be going to university when I’m 17 and will graduate at 21.
I'm an accounting student from South Africa and I'm interested to know what qualifications do you hold in order to become a private equity analyst? I'm very much keen in exploring the investment and banking side of finance.
From what I’ve heard u don’t really a qualifications, but you need good grades, good excel skills and more. U can search for more people on RUclips who are talking about it
if you want a career path, some become investment bankers and go through the standard 2-3 year analyst program, and then branch out to private equity, hedge funds, or venture capital.
Thanks brother i get a perspective my question is can i made my own fortune
I have a question, how are you 20 and already fully employed? or is that internship ur doing I’m confused
What’s the name of the meal you make?
How did you get into the business so young?
PLEASE KEEP UPLOADING
Cool career, you help leverage and destroy businesses. Keep up the good work
Don't believe me : ruclips.net/video/0jWiiT_1GRQ/видео.html
I appreciate all of the shirtless content. ❤
20 and your life is better than mine😅🎉🎉🎉
How could you be 20 working at private equity firm? You graduated early?
It’s a coop
how did you get into PE when you were 20?
Hey! What school do you go to? What are your thoughts on the private equity/ IB ecosystem in Canada? And what are the best practises to break into these jobs as a young person? Thanks!
i go to ubc and could you be more specific about “thoughts?” and depending what school you’re from you probably won’t get a first year IB job but can def get a PE job (search fund or smaller PE), which can set you up for IB or just continue in the buy side space.
I would recommend trying to move to a Financial Global Hub e.g. New York, London, Hong Kong etc.
Thanks for the insight!
Fire vid, just subbed
Invest your money and diversify your income streams.
awesome video, bro👍
My brother goes to UBC. Please show him the ropes
Don't be evil- watch out buddy you seem like a nice kid
you got in private equity at 20??
You definitely don't get paid $500k a year, so that means $499k is not out of the question 😆😆
on an average how many hours/week do you work?
I'm working as private equity fund accountant in India for a CANADA based fund.. can u please let me know what would be appox salary for an 2 years experience candidate in your company
He wants so bad to be a “finance, Bro”
An 80% througput???? They grill me for anything under 90% billable hours worked. But Im in tech so maybe thats why
Why do you keep saying, "bro"?
Bro how did you get into PE at 20 lol?
W vid 🔥
But u ain’t in New York
how old are you bro?
Hi! I'm an engineering major trying to move into finance and I'm interested in finding internships in private equity / venture capital. What companies would you recommend looking at for internships and what networking tips do you have for this industry? thank you in advance!
Hi Saj, look at boutiques in your area and connect with them on linkedin, coffee chat/call them to show interest and make your way through the firm.
It will be hard and I don't think its possible since these type of jobs requires finance background.
@nyctophile engineers are more or less preferred in finance in India
@@vedantjain2196 obviously less or almost none. How can an engineer do finance job? You need high finance skills and knowledge which only business degrees gives you.
@@nycto16 As someone who is in the industry, I can safely say that engineers are preferred. An engineer+ MBA is the top choice followed by CA rankers and others. Many colleges hire IB analysts directly from engineering undergrad like IITs, BITS and other top engineering colleges.
W video
hahah i love this guy
I work in sustainability and trying to do more to find private equity clients to help sort sustainability strategy before sale. Definitely worth doing to maximise value. Could we connect on linkedin?
Hey, what university/program did you go to.
I do business and compsci at UBC
Really informative video. Thank you for telling us how you actually got the role as well.
salary range? :)
how are you 20 and working in PE🥵
Hey just discovered your channel and subscribed. If you don’t mind may I ask if you think I should continue with a finance major at a non target?
I want to go the entrepreneurial route so I’ve been thinking to go with a less risky degree such as accounting and then study comp sci on my own to eventually build a business.
your major does not matter for finance recruiting. just get in clubs that show interest and do some insight programs. are you black? if so there are so many opportunities out there for you because finance is trying their best to get black men within the space
@@griot1722 What do you mean by insight programs? Could you elaborate?
I am in Canada, and im worried that because im in a non target and not many high finance jobs in the city im in, I will struggle to look for a job when I graduate. That is why im thinking of going into accounting to have a better chance at securing a job , then after that with an accounting major ill be able to transition into finance jobs.
@@jamal5168 the best finance jobs require you to enter finance right out of college. are you diversity and what year of college are you in?
Hey bro, i actually think that your degree matters for applying to these finance jobs. But its not limited to a finance degree, BB firms are hiring SWEs, tons of people break in with econ degrees, even math degrees. However if you were studying smt like history that may be very different. Pick something that requires problem solving, tangible problems at that, and after that your degree means nothing.
@@griot1722 yea I am, I’m in third year
Yo how are u 20 and already working
HE is not Indian
Hi Sevan, I would like to invest Into private equity. I have a couple crazy ideas, if you don't mind I'd like to run it by you
