Anyone looking into brewing can quickly be overwhelmed by the gadget heavy nature of much of the information. This approach/vid is a great way to cheaply try the hobby and is very much in the spirit of Charlie P’s last keynote address reminding AHA members to have fun! RDWHAHB!
And if you are obsessed like me, before you know it, you will have a fermentation fridge, a grist hydrator, a rims tube, plate chiller, stir plate, oxygen tanks, kegs, hop spider, RO system, take a welding class, etc etc and so on.
Northern Brewer or Midwest brewing has organic malt extract and some base grains and a few crystamalts. Not very many organic hops but I believe New Zealand hops are basically organic

And a starter or enough yeast, brewing salts are good and there are yeast nutrients, but yeah, trace minerals or spring water is good.I always had trouble with water PH and mashing grains.I would start with RO water and add salts but no it's tricky, depends what kind of beer your making etc.Hardest part of brewing is water composition,IMO. Get some spring water that tastes good or filtered and spring water add a bit of gypsum and calcium chloride maybe a bit of sea salt.Gotta learn what a bit is though😁
Question. All grain mash brewing is it acceptable to extract our wort one day and heat and cover. And then boil the next day and finish? Make two 3 hour events rather than one six hour for older guys?
I was hoping to save some money by making my own beer, but it looks like it will cost me twice as much to make my own beer. What would you get if you didn't add those two grains? I think it was Crystal malt 40 and 80. Or if you replaced the grains with something like oatmeal, I've heard of oatmeal beer.
@@Sterilite101 I'm sure it is cheaper to buy your own beer, which seems a bit backwards, but I'm finding store-bought beer to be contaminated with glyphosate like most of the food now and that stuff causes me major problems.
@@Sterilite101 Those beer kits are way overpriced. I recommend getting a five gallon food grade bucket from home Depot, buy malt extract, hops extract, and beer yeast on eBay, and watch RUclips videos on how to make beer. Get some beer bottles for free and buy your new caps and capper from eBay.
TILTD! I have brewed for on and off for 31 years and regularly for the last 7. Why have I never heard of the fill the bottling tube with water to start siphoning at bottling time!
"Avoid wooden spoons" Sorry? If you clean them well, right after you use them, they are perfect. Of course, a stainless spoon with straight end is much better, but when you start, you want to keep your expenses in an unperceivable level. There comes that month you'll buy that beautiful, huge stainless spoon. That's the goal, of course. But avoiding wooden spoons? Think twice, please! If you buy a brand new wooden spoon with straight end for making marmalade, you are GOOD TO GO. Enhancing your system is a must. Some flat ended stainless spoons are always a good thing to consider. But it's not your best interest at the beginning. You'll need precise temperature metering, you'll need a fridge and a reptile heating cable
A most informative presentation. I was surprized to see someone that was not head shaved and bearded. Great work.
Im a regular dude with glasses doing this. But I get what you mean
With tattoos all over🤣🤣
😂😂
That's great. Just a tip to anybody reading this. Use soda bottles instead of water bottles. They are pressure rated and will hold up better. Enjoy!
Excellent video. You make a complicated topic easy to understand. thank you.

Start with mead or wine first. Beer is then the next step
Excellent video, best I've viewed to date. We want to make organic beer so hopefully won't be too hard to buy these ingredients.😊 Thanks so much.

Nicely done!
I never made beer before just wine and mead.
But after the summer I wanted to make a German Schwarzbier maybe.
I like your simple recipe

wow awesome. next time want to taste it.
After watching some of these DIY beer making videos I think I'll stick to buying 🍺
😂😂😂😂
Awesome. Well done
and what about the alcohol content of the finished product , that should have been mentioned
WOW this was great!!! but can all types of beers be made this way? I love Irish red, blondes and some darks
Yes almost any beer can be made with malt extract and seeped grains.
This is amazing, thank you! Glad not every homebrewer isn’t an annoying frat bro throwing in annoying memes and clips every two seconds

It is amzing and l am from Ethiopia ,which is africa continents and there is wide chance to prepare this product but l didnot understandit.
I was getting the star San sanitizer which is what I think you have, however it says it's not safe for aluminum? which one are you using?
How do you decide between the 2-3 weeks of fermentation?
Do not use distilled water. You need trace minerals etc. For yeast health.

Yes that would be an acceptable method.
Great video! 👍
I like the idea of using plastic bottles instead of glass bottles. Much faster and easier. And even cheaper.
awesome ! thanks
Why did you use malt extracts if you used grains?
Great beer video cheers buddy
Excellent Presentation...I learnt so muCh from you!😃ThankS deeply for explaininG every step carefully!!!👍Happi SprinG fellow BeeR drinker!!!✌😎🌹🌞🌹🍻

I can do this whole process in 7 days.
Amber, Prohibition beer that someone renamed, ale.
Adding normal water at the end of wort cooling will spoil the beer.
not if its clean water
Ha! You RUclipsrs always say we're going to make beer and then it turns out to be ale!
PS, I would not use plastic bottles, that I don't like.😔
You are the fist to say you can squeeze the bag to drain it, why is that?
Next time use an airlock . The foil method is not a healthy one
What’s with the tinfoil????
Too much work
It's over a course of weeks
Then stick to buying beer at the store.
@@Vvykk that's what I ended up doing. 😁
