I disagree. This is absolutely a great perspective on abortion. But the entire point of making abortion legal....is to allow people to make their own choices. Taking a black and white stance on this topic is so hard because there are so many complexities. I love that Islam values the mothers life, AND her mental health up to a certain amount of days, because yes I definitely think there needs to be a cut off. Assalamu Alaikum. My wife is 2.5 months pregnant with triplets. They showed up in first scans with varied growth. And in 3rd scan they were all of same size. After that, she had some bleeding, then doctor said one had collapsed. We were okay that, it was Allah who gave us and himself has taken. Then 6th and 8th week only 2 were present showing heartbeat. On 10th week, which was 2 days ago, all 3 showed up with proper growth and heartbeat. Now the doctor says, we've to do fetal reduction to avoid the risk of my wife and other two babies as well. After we saw all 3 babies moving, we don't have a heart to do that. But the doctor and parents are insisting on doing so. We're confused and worried. Don't know what to do. Is it permissible to do in this case?
Consult with some of imams and doctors. Ask the doctors how much risks to the other 2 baby and the mother if you and your wife want to preserve all 3 together. Ask imams what they would do if they're in your situation. May Allah protect your (and everyone) families from any harm.

Interesting. This is a very level headed understanding of abortion. I'm not Muslim but I have a lot of questions about the modern social teachings of Islam. I have faced a lot of discrimination from religious people in my life most of them have been Christian. I am a transwoman and a lesbian. These two things are unchangeable facts of who I am. I would be interested to know how people who are Muslim feel about this. I recognize this is the RUclips comments though so I will assume that there will probably be some trolling in response.
@Eva Goodwin what do you think the term 'no offence' means? 😂😂😂 You don't seem to understand what transgender means or what homosexuality means so I'm not going to trust you as to have an understanding of what other Muslims think about it though. I appreciate your honesty but I pity your ignorance. No offense of course.
@Eva Goodwin Yeah that isn't what transgender means. I am a woman who has a penis and I am a lesbian because I love other women. You have shown that you are judgemental of others. You don't speak for God. Don't you know that Islam teaches that judging others is a fundamental transgression? God created me as a transwoman and a lesbian. 😊
@Eva Goodwin hahaha I know you are confused because I see you are still trying to make assumptions about how I am rather than asking or looking up any of the information. I was not born male. The doctor thought I was male because I have a penis. I am female though and that doctor was incorrect. I am happy with my body including my penis. I am not changing that. Genitals are not gender. I am a woman. I have breasts but I also have a penis. I actually came to terms with being transgender in therapy and since then I have began working in mental health too. You have made so many judgements about me so far when you know that you don't understand me. You made judgements about the entire LGBT community without understanding them. You are not God. You are not capable of knowing what you do not seek to understand. At any point you could have reserved your judgement and began seeking understanding. I genuinely ask you why is it that you choose to judge instead of seeking truth? 😊😊
@Eva Goodwin I'm not deformed or confused 😂😂 also just so you know the whole XX XY thing is a simplification that is taught to help the general public. That isn't actually how chromosomes work. Speak to an endocrinologist and you will see. Again you could have looked that up before making yet another judgement. 😂😂 How do you think God will respond to your judgement of others and attempts to to speak for them? 😊

@@kyrptonite1825 Saddens me that so many young Muslim girls in the West think abortion is okay because their white friends pressure them to think so. :(
This is one of the cases where we heavily differ from many western conservatives. Most western conservatives would simply say abortion is bad and would hesitate to answer a question such as "What if the woman's life is in danger?" if anything they might even still disagree with abortion even when the mother is in danger while we muslims would have a reasonable answer right away and say the fetus should be aborted if the mother's life is in danger.
I wanna know which conservatives you’re talking to cuz even the leaders of the prolife movement don’t shy away from that question.
If it is ever dismissed it’s because it’s an argument from pro choicers and nothing more. If we were to ban abortion except in the cases of rape, incest or medical complications, do you think pro choicers would bite? No. Otherwise generally speaking we’ve been pretty clear on where we stand depending on the issue
@@Packetrackit He is generalizing, but generally, most time then not, in my anecdotal experience, conservatives do tend to shy away from what hes saying. Permanently getting rid of access to abortion is not helping the situation, in fact, arguably haram.
@@ilyasabdolcader478 But historically, islam has always been pro-life. Only young Muslim-Americans are the ones the advocating for pro-abortion trends and even that is a very recent development.
Such a hot topic and yet islam has such a logical solution for it. Some cells shouldnt be considered a full child.
Jazakallah khair
What must be mentioned is in addition the reasons of fear of poverty or gender of the baby being completely illegitimate reasons regardless of days, the vast majority of abortions would be prevented by Islam because of strong families, marriages and lack of open fornication in the society.

Taking a black and white stance on this topic is so hard because there are so many complexities. I love that Islam values the mothers life, AND her mental health up to a certain amount of days, because yes I definitely think there needs to be a cut off. I just found out that some states prohibited abortion EVEN when there was fatal risk to the mom. I was mindblown. Then a minister entered the comments and started arguing with me that even if there is clear fatal risk to mom, she should still carry and the doctors should try to save both. It was that moment I was so grateful to he a Muslim, alhumdulah ❤

If the first baby is still young and in feeding stage, will it be permissible to abort the 2nd pregnancy
May Allah (swt) make it easy for you
Please consult a few other doctors....

You don't seem to understand what transgender means or what homosexuality means so I'm not going to trust you as to have an understanding of what other Muslims think about it though.
@Eva Goodwin also Google intersex
How do you think God will respond to your judgement of others and attempts to to speak for them? 😊
I'm already having a 9 month baby who was born through cesarean. I have recently undergone 2 more surgery. I'm 1 month pregnant. Will abortion considered as haram. My health is not that good to carry another baby. Is it ok to do abortion then.
