Cleaning My Yucky Stove Using Pumice Stone - Clean With Me! - My Minimzing Journey

  • Hello Everyone!
My stove is terrible. Most people probably won't have such a big issue as this was years of stuck on burned food. I didn't want to use harsh chemicals thus turned a blind eye to the problem. This was an experiment to see if I can clean my stove with a pumice stone without caustic chemicals. I saw the idea on a Facebook post and I'm not sure where I saw it. My husband has used pumice on our toilets and it's gotten rid of hard water stains like a charm and I was thinking it can work on the stove. It does state that it can be used on the ceramic tile, porcelain, masonry, concrete & iron, tools, pools, bbqs, toilets, tubs, rust & paint, and carbon buildups. Pumice stones can be found at Target, Wal-Mart, dollar stores, markets, and Amazon. (Not affiliated with Pumie or any of the stores mention) The pumice stone is very inexpensive making this cleaning project very affordable. Please be patient and use cautiously to avoid damaging your surfaces. Now my method probably wasn't the best way, since I just went on the post and went in with the pumice and my additions of baking soda, dish soap, and chiseling screw driver. Again most people probably don't have a stove that looks as horrible as mine and won't need to take such extreme measures. Here are links to instructions on how to clean a stove. Hopefully it helps.

I'm so happy with my stove. It's never been so clean since I bought it years ago and will never get to that gross state again. As stated by the gas company technician that visited my home for service on a gas problem, all that grease and bits are fire hazards and I'm glad they're gone. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed the experiment!

All you need is that pumice stone it comes right off it doesnt scratch your stove at all! I even use it on my pots and pans to take off the black from cooking over and over , it comes right off and doesn’t scratch at all!! You do t really need cleaning products just some drops of water and maybe to clean over it at the end spray some stove cleaner but not for the main job! Just some infor for anyone who wanted to know

Not smart using a flat head. It can scratch the surface.
