Justin you have a career ahead of you in film. You are years ahead of your peers. Some really great moments. I really liked the effect where Peter was shining the flashlight on the workbench and the old man kept disappearing and then that jump scare right out of The Ring. Well done! I think that the acting maybe needed a stronger director to pull out better performances, more takes to choose from or they just need more experience before taking on a film. :) The amount of time you put this all together in is simply amazing. Keep up the great work!
did the ghost turn off the truck's radio at 1:36 ? the horror of this film is the acting! how many pigs were slaughtered to get all that ham i was bludgeoned with?
Okay, so is it weird that I sorta love this? The acting is a little bad, and there's some unnecessary dialogue. And even though the lead reacts to abject horror with detached indifference, it kinda works. As soon as the goofy friend shows up, it becomes more of a horror comedy. Hey, the first 'Evil Dead' film was supposed to be straight horror but ended up a comedy in spite of itself. Does that make it any less awesome? No, it does not! In spite of some problems, this has a charm to it that can't be faked. Just one question...What's the story with the dumpster diving? Collecting inventory for an Etsy shop? Teenage hoarders? What's the deal!
I guess dumpster diving is their hobby haha.... You should check out the prequel, it's a bit more serious, the link is in the, description! Thanks for the comment!
No problemo man! I just watched the prequel. I like the actor who plays the documentarian. I like your guys' no nonsense approach. When the dude walks up and says "I'm making a documentary and you're going to be in it!" Cracked me up and creeped me out at the same time. lol.
I enjoyed this, loved the premise, enjoyed the music, decent cuts. The characters reactions were completely unrealistic and I agree with whoever said to keep the eyes and face reveal out of shot. The old man was super creepy up until that point, still really good overall tho!
The acting wasn't the greatest BUT this was one of the best short films that i have ever seen! Absolutely amazing. I also love how everything in the story just slides into place. At first I didn't really understand why they were dumpster diving but at the end it actually made sense. I do agree with @Angela Odinsdottir though, the eyes shouldn't have been shown. They made the "creep" factor decrease majorly. Other than that it was wonderful. Will definitely recommend
Some of the acting was rough around the edges, and I would say that's the main thorn in the film's side. Other than that, I'd say it had many strong points. Well-timed and well-executed scares (I loved the scene from the camcorder and the subtle use of The Director as the kid ran away). There were a variety of scare tactics and they were all appropriate for the scenes. Great use of musical score and sound effects to generate atmosphere while avoiding cheap scare tactics. Everything seemed like it was right where it belonged if you ask me. Indeed, the story was somewhat created as it went along, which helped to keep things fresh and evolving = more involving. Cinematography actually wasn't all that bad - good angles and panning for the most part. Lastly, I'd say the ending definitely took away from the film more than it helped. For one thing, it stripped the consistency away from all the events that preceded the ending. Example, how The Director was able to seemingly teleport around (like when the protagonist was running away from him by going downstairs and The Director had somehow already beaten him down there.) It's not humanly possible, and so having his friend be the killer negates most everything The Director did prior. It also creates a plot hole where the research found on The Director was no longer relevant. You had very creative ideas here with good execution of most of them, but the ending just took too much away from the experience altogether by sort of negating most of what had already happened. Perhaps THAT is the biggest thorn in this film's side rather than the acting. Keep up the good work! I look forward to a more refined experience, my friend.
Haha great points, I hope to have some better stuff coming out soon! I'm now writing out the films before hand so that everything flows as you were completely right this film just kind of was made as it went... Thanks for the comment!
It does has its flaws, but overall is a good flick! The flashlight in/out was one of the best moments IMO. Predictable, but oh man, that was scary. The actors did their best... I recommend this one. Liked. Keep it up!
Thanks a lot!! Filmstro is a great program, the only problems I had with it was there was only 1 horror track and a few times It did a weird skip in the music but other than that it's awesome.
why u sorry sir, u didnt invited him, it was his own choice and he lost many days for nothing but in search of free fun on web yet u at leats did something to engage with it, thank you for sharing free fun with us.
all these negative comments are uncalled for, people have to start somewhere in order to improve. I thought this was brilliant, with a little tidying up on acting, script writing, it would be improved a bit. The editing was on point and so was the quality of the film footage. Well done guys, really enjoyed the ending!
Lots of negatives in this comment section guys but I say it was a good video for what you had to work with. Try to keep your emotions a little more human, have full reactions of fear or confusion, practice! Keep at it and someday you'll make some real topnotch films.
Haha thanks, this was our first horror film and it was made over a year ago so we have definitely grown since this film and worked on many of the flaws shown in it!
Honestly... the ending didn't work in my opinion. You should have asked him who he was and fade to black to leave it ambiguous also showing the eyes removed the creep factor. He was legit scary until that point. B acting doesn't take away from an impact it can help. I hope you do well in the future.
wow what a friend this dude is. Comes into the girls room to see the old man recording her only to leave her to be hacked with a machete. What a fucken coward he is leaving his friend to be murdered! Btw the acting is painfully bad in this film..
Dakotadarkwolf haha that's funny, painfully bad? What's shown is at its ABSOLUTE best... Sometimes I had to retake a clip over 10 times cause it was so hideously bad...but it adds some comedy...
I love how when the Director guy is killing the girl, he just closes the door, like "You know we were never on the best of terms anyway."
TheGoodNonconformist Haha so true...
Who throws away a full unbroken snow shovel in the middle of the winter?

Curtis Kelch Haha thanks, hard to believe this was made almost 3 years ago!
Really good work here. Looking forward to seeing the new horror film The Chemist!
no offense but this is more like a comedy horror film.
did the ghost turn off the truck's radio at 1:36 ?

Epix_Vidz 1800 haha thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
They have a pretty nice vehicle -- no need to dumpster dive. >_>

No problem, mate! I'm no expert, so take it with a grain of salt lol.
It does has its flaws, but overall is a good flick! The flashlight in/out was one of the best moments IMO. Predictable, but oh man, that was scary. The actors did their best... I recommend this one. Liked. Keep it up!
Haha thanks that's my favorite part too...
This is pretty Cool! Nice video!🤘
Thanks, a prequel should be up later today!
Just released the prequel! ruclips.net/video/ws3lY3Fk3lI/видео.html

Derek Hislop Did you look under the couch cushions? That's usually where stuff ends up in my house.
I love the boys and how amusing they are but not their acting. By th way, ups and downs on the execution for me
PS. I love Peter he’s so cute

Oh great, it was Punch looking for Judy, no problem guys.
Also, he just sees the guy ready to kill Sophia and just closes the door when he kills her boiii
so allan is the ghost?
The guy who plays Alan looks familiar.....
Why with the cliffhanger 😫😩😫
Haha there's a lot of whys in this film...

Dat acting tho
Inside Reviews Yup...
D
Inside Reviews it's what you get when you don't pay your actors. Unfortunately we didn't have the option to pick and choose.
Wow, bad acting.

The ad preceeding this film is a little misleading, so I skipped it.
The ending made no sense because of earlier shots.
which camera did you use to shoot this?
I used the Lumix G7 paired with the Rokinon 16mm cinema lens.
NICE! I'm liking your work. It's also convincing me to get a G7. Trying to step up from a Canon EOS M for low budget film making
I usually don't troll around but that there is some real shit acting
agreed.
the only thing scary was the girls room set up
12:12 gave me a fucking haertattack
It was ok
The only true horror was the acting.
;)
Acting .....um needed convincing
