Wow it sounds like a jazz bass! Can’t wait for the Ultra Vintage Modern Future Wound pickups next year! I hope they have some more cool new colors too, maybe something like a Jetwave Green…..it’s green but just a touch more green.
Better construction for sure lol. US factory workers just aren't producing quality guitars anymore. You need to go US Fender custom to get the same quality Japan puts out.
I came to the comments section to say exactly the same. It doesn't make any sense at all to get a fender nowadays, unless you want their brand logo on the headstock.
I own an Elite Fender Jazz V I bought new in 2018. It's a great bass. This Ultra is nice as well. I own an Ultra Fender PJ Percision, the generation prior to this new one. It doesn't have the string through body, but it is still a great sounding and playing bass. I just cannot afford to keep buying new basses every year or two to keep up with their refreshed and revised lines. If you have deep pockets, great.
Seems to be another missed opportunity for Fender, when their competitors (Sire, Sandberg etc) are manufacturing higher quality instruments at much lower prices. Hopefully, Fender has finally resolved the QC issues from their first American Ultra series. I went through 3 different Ultra precision bass guitars and I'm still having issues to this day (3 years later). Such as intermittent buzzing noises from the high output pickups and louder preamp volume levels in active vs passive mode. Also, it is disappointing to see there are no ash bodies or roasted neck options available in the new Ultra 2 series given the price increases.
Rosted is not something everyone likes. Personally, I don't like it. I also believe that it is not a valuable thing, in fact they also mount them on low range instruments
Around 20 years ago I had a Fender P Deluxe 5 string and I loved that bass. I unfortunately sold it because I became obsessed with Spector basses , and it bugged me that the P pickup was split in a weird way, one split was B and E, and the other was A, D and G. I think Fender should reissue that bass with the P pickup split the correct way (like their 5 string P’s are now)
Like what? I’m in the market for a string through jazz or pj or s hh with compound radius neck hum cancelling pick ups active 3 band eq and passive tone control that either neck through or contoured heel with light weight tuners and a hard case
@@joshuaowens5228 Not sure if it ticks all your boxes, but the Yamaha BBNE2 came to mind, though it is pricier than the Fender. The pickups look like single coils but they're actually humbuckers.
Sounds to me like a tenor or bari sax which is mixed too high and clashing with the bass. You can hear the distinction a bit better when he plays the last low C at 0:26.
Nice MoonSwatch. But get rid of the velcro strap, I bought a fitted rubber strap from Amazon for anout $10 and it fits much better. You can get white to match your watch.
They got rid of the blocks and binding and moved the truss rod adjustment to the headstock so now it looks like a mim fender. No thanks! Ultra I in Arctic pearl on the the way right now. Then a john east or sadowsky preamp and bart axis pickups for a bass that can do anything.
I'm thrilled with my 2016 1st-gen Sire V7 5 with Bartolini dual coil Jazz bass pickups ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!! For the money, the features, playability, and tonal versatility of my Sire can't be touched!!! The Fender is overpriced!!!
@@Facu_Roldan somehow Music Man is able to pull it off. But then again the SR5 was designed from the ground up to be a 5 string, instead of just tacking on a B to an existing design.
Unfortunately major manufacturers like Fender or Music Man for example don't give a rats rip about instrument weight. Never have. Never will. 10 lbs?! No thanks!
I love Squier 40th anniversary edition jazz basses. I own 2 of the Ruby red gold edition and 1 of the vintage satin in burst. Does everything I need them to do at a much better price.
Seriously Bro. It has really gotten outta hand. If I can by a squier for 3-400 put 300 or less upgrades, and it sounds 10t better than 2500 no way I'm paying high prices again.
The real winner in this Video is Kai's Playing - I mean DAMN!

Sire rules ! Best basses in the world for the money !❤️
TBH i like the colours and block inlays of the original Ultra series
but Ultra 2 fixes the bridge/string spacing on 2nd gen
Personally, I much prefer the price, weight and tone of the Japanese Vola five string J bass you recently reviewed.
This decision is completely understandable and logical.
Yeah. Sorry but that bass doesn't sound great contrary of the Vola which sounded awesome

@@bassyeyOk, I'll get a Yamaha. 🙂
Such a pity that they don't reissue the american deluxe with 22 frets, well-designed neck joint, and light weight.

Saw one today at GC and I was absolutely stunned. (That tuning key sound is from for bushing being tight. I’m sure it will wear in and go away.)
Awesome groove as always. Awesome gear presentation as always. Keep the great content coming and all the best. Servus aus München. Damir
Hell yes just ordered this exact model. Arriving in november 💕
Thanks for sharing Gregor 🎶🎵🎶🎸🎼🎸🇬🇧☕☕
Kai is an amazing groove player. Does he have any channels of his own?
Not really, but he's active on Facebook and Insta
ruclips.net/video/cyMdpW8LjIM/видео.html He has a Channel check it out. Cool Guy i took Bass Lessons from. He taught me some Maiden Stuff 🙂.
Thanks 🎸

That color is spectacular.
Are they going to add another series with binding and block inlays? Fender is Fender, the best inspiring brand if you play

Nope. my $500 Mexican Deluxe will do just fine.
I love my American made precision and jazz basses.
No way in hell would I touch that for that price. I get it, its a Fender but there is much much better basses out there for that price.
Yeah, it seems like buying Gucci. 3/4 of the price is the name on it.

The new bridge looks very good
It's interesting sound that bass produce in the intro jam on 5th string. Is it just overdrive quack?

@@confustled Oh, yes, you're right!
It would benefit from a 35" IMO.
While they're at it, they could make it a 22 fret neck as well.
B string sounded Terrible in by view .
I love my American Ultra Jazz 4 string, but 4.4kg is just too heavy for longer sessions when standing. So I purchased a lighter Sandberg TT4...
New Sadowsky line up will move on soon 😉😊
Whatever happened to freedom kilos ?
Gorgeous❤
Fender is the iphone of guitars
Except iphones (and even Squire) manufactured in overseas factories still have better quality control than Fender American made instruments.
@@tinodigi American Vintage and Custom Shop are still very good
I only wish they would have offered maple on the ultraburst and Texas tea finishes,

Already got one of those, but I honestly prefer the Velcro strap. I’m only wearing this watch when shooting videos, so it’s not bothering me too much
The Hi Mass Bridge should be Standard for all Models.
nowdays i can fell any diference of player series to american ultra and pro series huehuehuehue
wtf is up with the sound in the intro? vibrating mic? badly set-up fret buzz?
Fender better fix their QC issues and start to think about weight of their basses.

B string sounds disappointing
As is typical for a 5 string Fender.
@@57precision It sounded to me like the action was too low. Fender B strings have been pretty good (for 34s) in recent times
As in pretty much every other fender. 34'' scale + bolt-on necks are not a good combination if you want a solid and defined 5th string.
@@Facu_Roldan somehow Music Man is able to pull it off. But then again the SR5 was designed from the ground up to be a 5 string, instead of just tacking on a B to an existing design.
@@57precision I happen to dislike the B string on musicman basses too.
If they only made at least 35'' scale basses or multiscales ala dingwall.
I like how strangely theatrical this German from Berlin is.
Check the older videos, he was very stiff and serious when he started the channel. He's had a nice development as a youtube presenter.
If it has a compound radius it should be round at the top and getting flatter to the bridge. I hope you mistaked...
That’s what I said
Oh, indeed, my bad...
Sorry but for that price I can buy 3 Sire the V bass the Z bass and the F10
So, you could just buy a harley benton 5 string and put some dimarzio relentless and it'll be 10x better than this (?)
My hamer five had a neck like this, not for me!
Buy spector!😊
We dont like light basses

Sorry but no...i petsonally prefer 150 euro Harley Bemtol...is the best value for your dinero!!!
Absolutely NOT impressed with the B-string....
That low b sounds farty
so what? $2,500.00 for a mediocre instrument? Hell no! Squire now rules
