Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Hey Nate, Although your bait making skills are impressive; I am more impressed with your painting skills. Your color choices and you spraying talent really brings pieces of wood and epoxy to life. Keep ip the good work! 👍
DJI Osmo action 3,,.. cold resistant camera 👍 and never look back . Then we viewers expect you bundled up doing a review fishing trip , lol . Good stuff as always ,. happy holidays !
This new system is genius. Allows you record a week at a time edit and post one video rather than trying to keep multiple projects along with their video files organized over a long time. It still allows the viewer to keep up on the story of each lure but one week at a time. Love the stuff man. I’ve been watching since the trout swimbait video!
I started painting lures about a year ago because of your videos. It’s finally starting to take off for me and I have about 90 lures to paint for orders now!
Good Gravy Marie!…those paint schemes are Amazing. Nate’s airbrush skills are swell and all, but the thoughts that make them happen are what perplexes me. I can never see the end goal in my mind’s eye, and when he finishes the final color & clears it, I’m amazed every time…even when he’s painting something from a google pic. I don’t watch any other bait-making YT Channels…there’s no need. he surprises me every time.
Been watching you upload for a long time now from here in France. I really have to say that I appreciate watching the master you have become, Bringing us all in your shop and inspiring us making stuff from scratch. Much support to you for the rest of that epic journey and thanks again for your dedication to this craft and the sharing of it.
Thank you for giving us a Sunday video again. I spent all day on the canoe with my pup and lady, caught a few sheepshead, a nice red, and a few flounder. Among tons of snapper. Caught the red and flounder on my own jerkbaits I poured
Loving the new format. I think with the stuff folks like the hacksmith and others have been suffering through acts as a reminder to do what feeds your soul, the rest will work out.
Faantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍 We are now at 19 exclamation points! I added a new one for the 19th time. Or 18th. Anyway next video will be the 20th exclamation points after the "Faantastic". 🙂Hope you enjoy🤔
For bait testing, I've heard of setups where you get some long container filled with water and drain it out on one side to create current. I believe they are used to see how boats float in current and other tests, but I couldn't see why a bait couldn't be suspended in there to check its action.
I was traveling most of the day, but was hoping for a video to drop! Been driving all day, got home, unpacked and unwind a bit with some great lure making!😊
Loving the curly Maple bait! I am a big fan of that wood. I had a maple tree fall in my yard last winter and it just happened to be curly maple. If at anytime you are looking for more I would be willing to give some to you.
Your videos are incredible, whether it's carving, painting, or fishing. What we need is more slingshot videos ;). Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Wow those eyes are amazing the way you do that!! Some day you'll have to make me a lure so I can hang it on my lure wall collection and that I can use it only on special occasions!! 👌👍
Like ahppa said, should set up a tub, home depot has cheap 40gal black totes with decent dimensions. Then should look into aquarium power heads, AC power heads are cheap at lower flow rates, ones with magnets for attachment to the side will last you longer as suction cups tend to curl and deform over time. DC powerheads are little pricier but you are able to change flow patterns and speeds. Been watching for a while, awesome baits!
All the baits today look amazing! If you take a bit of thin CA glue and coat the bottom of the brush where the bristles meet the handle, it should eliminate the loose bristles pretty thoroughly. Granted, you might need to work a fine applicator tip into the center of the base to secure the middle bristles properly, but once you prep the paintbrush it's done and you don't have to futz with it again until you need a new one.
"My second baiter making personality." Lolol, I see what you did there sir. Love your silly humor you sprinkle into the videos, I bet you're an awesome guy to chill with around the campfire!
noticed that all your old unused clear coats are set inside the same container that you use to mix them in, once the layers build up enough it would be cool make a bait out of the block of different colour layered plastic it creates
Hey nate we use a swim tank... its a clear tube and a water pump to test our steelhead flies. just build a mega one for your baits a pool pump comes to mind
It’s be entertaining to watch you critique your oldest videos and stuff you did when you first started out. Kind of like a beginners guide of what not to do.
The new enduro batteries are a game changer for the GoPro. I use them in my hero 9 and connect it to a remote on hunting trips it may not be turned on for 3 hours sitting in the teens but when I need it it turns on immediately and is ready to capture with little to no battery loss on standby
You mentioned before about maybe making actual fish models. Would be interested to see those since you are so good at painting. Imagine would be hard to keep the price down, but would definitely want one!
Not sure if you re-use your cheap brushes for the clear coats and sealing, but if you do use some super glue at the metal that holds the hairs.... helps keep those hairs from falling out, little trick learned working with carbon fiber.
Hey, for a test tank you could get a 55 gallon, with two higher power circulation pumps, one facing left on the top and one facing right on the bottom, makes a really strong current, then just make a tie off to tie a bait to and see it’s action. I had done something similar when trying to keep rainbow darters in a tank (was trying to simulate something of a stream)
Though its not quite the highly polished level of videos you are used to putting out, but I am definitely enjoying the chaotic format. Can't wait to see what the board of unused baits looks like before the spring thaw.

I like the format, creative chaos was always the best feature of this channel. With flawless baits at the end.
DJI action 3 preforms very well in cold temps and doesn’t overheat, period. Sounds like Magic but it’s not. Plus it’s camera specs are very good.
A sunday upload?! The light shines upon us once more! 🙌🏻

Jumping between all the different baits and tasks makes my ADHD happy. Please I need more of this

20:58 I sincerely appreciate your sense of humor.
Such incredible work you do man! A video about a beginners guide to bait making would be awesome!!!!
He's done that, look in the archive.
I suggest binge watching all episodes for full tutorial.
Just takes notes lol

I can't tell if I enjoy all of the incredible work that you do or all of the comments and insight into the madness. Great content sir
I just started painting Baits and I've seen some real good artists out there you are one of the best sir!
Been watching you upload for a long time now from here in France.

I ain’t done boys! Day 52 of asking Marling Baits to make an Ultralight Trout spinner
I want him to make a centerpin reel and a fixed float to fish with it
Dude im on multiple years of cave cricket comments
Painted blades :)
I admire your sticktoitiveness. I gave up trying to get him to make a large-breasted mermaid swim bait a few years back, lol
@@jmiddlefinger every video since he teased the earwig
These videos make me wanna go broke buying molds to make my own baits!! Killlllerrrrr. Love everything you put into what you do. Legend.
Those paint jobs are absolutely beautiful!
Love all the baits in this vid, also thrilled for the return of the funky jumper.
The paint job on the in-line spinner is awesome 👍🏼👊🏼🦖🍺
Thank you RUclips suggestions! Killer content!
Ahhh yeeeeesss getting my fix of this content is a perfect way to start Sunday morning.
16:48 Ooh yeah, that is a level up. Wow, is that going to look good with a clear coat.
Yes!! Love the format and PROMISE of more content!!!!
Loving the new format. I think with the stuff folks like the hacksmith and others have been suffering through acts as a reminder to do what feeds your soul, the rest will work out.
I really like the new format. Totally enjoyable, and in some ways even better
Just got home from fishing. So happy to see a new video Nate.
You just made my day sir.
Faantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍 We are now at 19 exclamation points! I added a new one for the 19th time. Or 18th. Anyway next video will be the 20th exclamation points after the "Faantastic". 🙂Hope you enjoy🤔
The quality of the paint schemes keeps getting better and better. Nicely done!
Nate, today's paint schemes are stunning!
I’m lovin the frosty Walter, sweet bait man.
Awesome. I'd been missing my Marling fix
It's always a good day when Marling Baits uploads
I really enjoy watching your videos and appreciate your creativity!
Good morning glad to see the video.

Those are called flumes! They are also pretty commonly used for experiments in marine and freshwater biology
I really like this format. That red violet lure is awesome.
I was traveling most of the day, but was hoping for a video to drop! Been driving all day, got home, unpacked and unwind a bit with some great lure making!😊
I understand layering paint, but some of your layering blows my mind how it actually was done! Unbelievable stuff as usual
Loving the curly Maple bait! I am a big fan of that wood. I had a maple tree fall in my yard last winter and it just happened to be curly maple. If at anytime you are looking for more I would be willing to give some to you.

Luv the passion, creativity & humor !
Excellent video with sum chocolate cake.
Lol
The color combo is perfect
Amazing talent you have! GREAT WORK AND GREAT VID! KEEP IT UP!
You said master bait. Love the videos. I cant wait to see how the offset spinner comes out.
That spinner bait looks incredible! Definitely trying the white one way black the other on a bait!

I must say I love the way you done this video it was fun but hard to say which way is better either way love all your videos
Lovely chub. That flashy wally almost looks good enough to eat.

Loved the paint on the spinner
Tiger maple also makes for a fantastic neck on a guitar. Nice piece, me and my boy love to watch!

Get yourself some larger pvc pipe maybe 24" cut it in half glue some ends on and you've got yourself a "test tank" with the length you'd like!
You mentioned before about maybe making actual fish models. Would be interested to see those since you are so good at painting. Imagine would be hard to keep the price down, but would definitely want one!
Could cut the bait in half after it’s done and mount to a backing board, kind of like sailboat half hulls.
I need a sander like yours. You need to tell my wife for me lol. Glad you posted something new sir. Hope your Thanksgiving was good
Love it, the power drill hack for screwing the hardware...key info right there. thx
sweet cant wait for more releases man top stuff !!

Good video Nate 👍
I found ur channel after ur last vid and since then have binge watched all ur vids and been waiting for a new post . *excited bait maker noises *
Your airbrushing has always been good, but your really stepping it up..
Hey Nate, loved the video and was wondering where you got the stripe stencil that you used on the spinner bait. The painting is beuautiful!
Love to see some new

The!!!! BEST MISSION STATEMENT EVER!!!!!!! If you haven't read it... Click on the more section that would show more description for the video!!
That’s a mission statement I can get behind.
I think for your last handful of videos you've been doing best work, on camera at least.
Awesome stuff man.
I've just changed my third GoPro on warranty this year, I'm tired of that. Anyway, I'm in love with this non-stop action style of video!💣
