Superb potato reveal Tony! I've got 2 buckets but they're still very green, I only planted them in July and August, one spud in each. Good luck to your son, sorry about the lockdown, you guys living in the North are being locked down quite a lot. One last thing - write yourself a list of jobs before you come to the allotment!!lol All the best Tony.

Hi Tony, those Chinese Red Meat radishes grow to about 4". They will be light green on the outside and red on the inside. Resembles a slice of watermelon when cut. They need 50ish days to reach maturity. Best to Reed as he "launches" into college life. Audrey

I love my Fiskars pruner! It does a quick job around the backyard when needed. I even got a bigger one in order to prune my trees. That's a nice potato haul you've got there. :)

This year after watching us more mature gardeners on you tube . I told my hubby let's try growing in totes! So we did. I planted 27 various totes, tires, bins etc. We just harvested the last of them. We ended up with 162 pounds of 6 different varieties of potatoes out of 27 bins. That is the best harvest I have ever got. And it was so easy to take care of and to harvest. And now we have all the bins and dirt to fill them. So we decided to replant 16 of them. That's how many seed potatoes I found. So they are growing good again for a late fall harvest or maybe into December. I love the bin method as I could tuck the bins wherever I had a space in my garden to put them. So I didnt have to waste the room in my raised beds or inground areas. And the best thing, no back breaking digging! At 61 I'm trying to make my gardening as easy as I can. Thinking ahead to be able to keep doing this till I die! Thanks so much for the bin idea! Worked brilliantly! I'm gobsmacked! As you Brits say! Lol!

Top Cat (LOL) well the first two are T C - question you may like to look at or answer - Sacrificial Crops - I don't have my Radish Certificate like you but started some months ago - My Local Swarm of Cabbage white Flutterbyes seem to have taken an extreme liking to my Radishes - Just for fun I did them in 10cm pots and have just had to compost bin a heap - particularly the tops and had loads of little caterpillars. Is it worth planting a crop of radish in the hopes of seducing the Nasty whites away from my brassicas.

Great video and potato harvest. I will be planting more varieties and amounts of potatoes next year because I didn't grow enough this year. I have ordered my Autumn planting onions and looking forward to planting them the varieties are 'Shakespeare ' & ' Red Cross 'and I will be continuing to plant 'Golden Gourmet ' shallots and 'Provence Wight ' for my garlic. I will also be planting spring planting onions, shallots and garlic because I didn't plant enough onions, shallots and garlic as well.
