more info about target oil clearance for crank and rod.Since your compagny made clevite bearings it can be a good idea.

would have liked to hear what you found out what caused the piston damage.

I think the first piston was a victim of a con rod failure

Please tell me those are not Mahle, I just bought all bearings and piston rings from you, very expensive too, also the bolts for the cylinder head, I was going for the piston set but then saw this video, now I have second thoughts. I ordered a set of Mahle rings from Rockauto for our 2004 toyota corolla engine rebuilt when trying the ring 1 in cylinder bore 1 the ring overlapped on its on couple mm! the bore size is 3.11 the part was the correct one for that vehicle, yet my machinist told me he had never seen something like that from Mahle before since working on engines since 1992. The set was sent back, then I ordered another one from Amazon where trying the ring 1 again now it is between specs for the gap, have not tried the rest of rings assuming they "should" be ok. The block in question has about 80000 miles on it and was only de-glazed, not bored and i wanted to use Mahle Pistons as well but they are insanely expensive for a DIY and for how old this car is, so I would have to comfort as to re-using the original car pistons and connecting rods; the pistons have some wear on the skirt but way less that what is shown in the video here and the tops there are a tiny gouge on one and a very tiny cut on the edge of another but machine guy says they are ok to re-use; those came from an engine with 122000 miles on it as the original pistons that were in the block i am using were burnt in an engine that ran dry on oil to the point of seize. Since the block was tested ok and cleaned I am using it. Everything is standard on the rebuilt because the crankshaft journals were not grounded, only polished, it is already installed in the block and i am at the stage of pistons and piston rings which is why I am here, wanting to get Mahle but after watching, I do not know any more.

The pistons shown in this video did not fail because of our manufacturing process, but rather outside factors. If you have any questions or concerns with our pistons or rings please call our office at 1-888-255-1942.

I can see people shipping stuff back all thrown in a box. I had to laugh. Each item should be wrapped because I know what UPS does with boxes. You might start out with complete parts but by the time the shippers get done it could all just be powder.
