Flower: delicate, usually smell very nice, pretty colors and a large variety to make a bouquet from. Trees: sturdy, tall, protectors of land and giver of food and shade. I choose tree because I'm tall- I mean trees can do so much despite just standing there deeply rooted into the Earth, also I once had an extreme pollen allergy so flowers lost some points from me on that.
Hmmmm flowers or trees.. On one hand trees literally are the reason we're still alive but flowers are pretty and smell nice. Also I'm not going to present my loved ones with a bouquet of trees (unless they're bonsai trees but that must mean you hate them because bonsai trees are a nightmare)

There was a giant flower called a Corpse Flower at my college campus. It only blooms for like 2-3 days every couple years of so, which is kinda crazy to think about. It gets its name from the way it smells during a bloom
The only way the “I love you” line works here is if the roommates have known each other for a long time. Otherwise it just seems like a poor reason to confess to the listener at that very moment. On another note now I would feel like a P.o.S because that’s not how one goes about finding out if a person likes/loves you.
