I've always loved DnD but I get intimidated by it everytime😭 it's such a fun way to make stories tho! And your dnd sketchbook tour proves it!! This so nice looking😭😭 it's making me wanna do one of my own just for funsies
Thank you so much for posting this: Honestly, I had this old leather journal lying around that I didn't know what to do with, and I've had that thing since high school. You just gave me a reason to finally repurpose it. I'm pretty new to DnD as well: only did 3 campaigns and never finished one, but I love drawing my characters at some point. And I'm pretty much a note-taker, so thanks for inspiring me on ways to make looking back on old campaign memories more fun. Also, from my experience, wholesomeness like players gifting each other stuff is pretty standard in the DnD community: I know that the community as a whole is pretty noob-friendly, and my old group all pitched in to gift me a dedicated DnD notebook for my birthday. A little word of warning, though: if you continue the hobby, then that love for dice is going to get out of hand REAL quick, and that's okay. Our inner dice goblin eventually takes hold of us all. I have barely ever played and I already have like 6 different sets, so just saying... You might want to actually get some kind of storage for your dice at some point. Some people even use these lazy susan sort of spice racks to put them in little jars, so it doesn't have to be expensive. Also, you might want to check the r/DnD subreddit, people there are really helpful, and there are no stupid questions there. If you're ever unsure about something, then never be afraid to just ask someone in the community.

This is so cute, I love the way you organised it, and how easy it would be to look back on and remember. Learning how the game works comes with time and you've set yourself up for success with this. For the charm for death saving rolls it may be smart to have broken heart ones on the same loop and remove one depending on if you fail or succeed the roll.

We started up again yesterday and it was so much fun! I’m playing as Maddox again, so we’ve updated his stats a little bit, and now I’m working on writing out/ drawing what we got up to during the session 😊

I’m having a hell of a time trying to find that paper that you’ve sticked your stats to - does anyone know what it’s called? 😅 beautiful journal you should sell them honestly! ❤
Thank you so much ❤ The paper the stats are stuck to is the backing from a piece of contact paper! It’s just what I had leftover, but you could definitely use the backing from something like label paper, or an old sticker sheet too. I just glued it to some card stock to make it a bit sturdier 😊
omg i love this idea and ur art!! could u clarify how u made the blue & pink sticker spread with ur stats and stuff? did u use regular paper on sticker backing? sorry i can’t get over how cleanly that peeled off LOL. i am also guilty of wanting to chomp my clinky clanky math rocks.
