What a chace that I came by this story. My mom is half African and half Vietnamese. She was born in 1952. She does not know her father. He left when she was 2 years old. All she knows is he was soldier for the French. I often think about what he is like, is he alive or dead.
I wonder if you can help. Is a long shot but I want to give it a shot. Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Vietnamese here. Great content from this channel. I love to learn about stories and history of Francophone Afrique countries, as we share very similar history against French colonialism. Viet, Algeri and many Africans fought together in WW1, we faced the same racism, our kings exiled to each other countries, and there were a great deal of immigration, cultural exchange stories going on that were untold. With today independence, I hope former-French Afrique countries to never forget our dark history and find path to greater stability, prosperity and development.

Great story telling skills, the multiple ads placed on the middle of the video were such an irritation though, they played every split second...

    Why not?!
This is a crazy story honestly. It's like a telenovela. So much drama. Wow.

Jean Bédel Bokassa, probably the most sadistic dictator central Africa has known so far. I wonder how advanced the Central African Republic would be today, if it were not for his reign of utter misery and terror.

I'd argue Idi Amin was worse but yeah, really sad story. imagine if a socialist leader nationalised the mineral industry and used its profits to subsidise infrastructure development and education. would probably be whacked by France or the CIA anyways

@@theccpisaparasite8813 We shouldn’t argue among ourselves, which countries are more civilised or whatever. We need African Unity, NOW! Only a pan-afrikan and socialist perspective can free Afrikans all around the world.

Bokassa's son by way of his African queen, was of course the crown prince. He was no stranger to the gendarmerie in Paris growing up in the 80s/90s.... Often arrested for petty crime and theft as a teen. I hear he cleaned up though, and went home to CAR.
