What was your most hated random event? Mine was the gravedigger event. As a child, my small brain could not comprehend what was going on. I would be there for 20 minutes trying to figure out what to do, only to be saved by my older brother who would complete the event for me in a minute. Good times…
I remember taking the time to kill the Strange Plant in the Rogue's Den. Your max hit was capped at 3, and I wasn't sure if the Verac's I was wearing helped.
That strange box random event was so cursed it used to make me not want to play the game many years ago. I remember playing Runescape 20? years ago, barely understanding English (not a native speaker) and not knowing what it asks me to do, so it kept filling up my inventory until it was full, because I kept clicking the wrong answer or not doing anything at all 😭
All the old events that broke/took your tools were the worst thing in existence, you come back after afking too long -> OH IT LOOKS LIKE THE LOBSTERS ATE MY POT AGAIN. A small part of me wishes random events were still scary like that though.
I think the worst part in modern osrs is not having that constant danger sensation, you had like 2 minutes to run back to your body if you died and even non combat activities could result in a death
It was a core memory when you died and all your items dropped besides three. I used to pick up so many good items at pest control from AFK players on the docks when they would always be so crowded.
This video is a whole trip down memory lane! i had forget most of these random event. Man I hated the broken axe/pick era lost so many rune pick during this time loll
I loved the axe head flying off. Was a great way to do Lost City back then. Also I could be wrong, pretty sure the frog event would always teleport you back in the day. I remember them coming to you asking for help, then teleporting you to the swamp area, kiss, leave reward.
Small addition to Camo: it first looked different (a bush like texture) and at release it was tradeable. I know this because I merched them for 500k per piece 😂 great video
Massive nostalgia from these. Great job on the video. Just a slight correction but the beekeeper random event did not let you drag the pieces to assemble them. That was a newer QOL feature. You had to spam click a d-pad to move certain pieces to the correct location.
😂 forgot about the axeheads, just had a pleasant flashback to picking one up from someone afk at Camelot magic trees. Think is was worth like 1,5 mill then.
The camo one when it first came out was a different style of camo and there wasn’t that fence there to keep you by the exercise mats and you could explore the camp
There is also another event you did not cover - A skeleton that spawns while you bury bones and start attacking you and if you killed it he dropped several different type of bones. This one scared the living heck out of me as youngster.
honestly, if there wasnt the update page saying they released the pious pete random i wouldnt believe it. i started in 05 and never experienced it, ever, and i played a lot. it was around for more than a couple months in 06 too. so maybe it was triggered by doing a certain skill (like shades with prayer)
They should bring back a new version of the broken tools random events. Something like a random code that you have 10 sec to enter otherwise the tool breaks and you got to go to bob to repair. Would help counter a lot of skilling bots that require tools
I honestly don't remember getting random events when I played back in the day. But I hate the frog random cause I don't know what to do with the extra tokens so I just dismiss them. But that daen sandwich lady is holding me back from my last random clog slot.
They should bring back the skilling random events with the option of toggling them on or off, and tweaking their risks and rewards. Like you could get extra xp or resources for killing the monsters, and your broken equipment would stay on the ground longer and eventually be sent to lost and found. Also repairing would give xp.

Mine was the mime, because I really wanted the emotes, but I never got the event so I couldn't unlock them.
honest damaging random events should be brought back. i'm sure it would make damage to bots more than their once in a lifetime bot busting events.
Pickaxe break
Man what a nostalgia trip, so many randoms I’d forgotten about. Great video, thank you!!
Appreciate you mr. Alien Food!
Agreed it is a fantastic video very informative and interesting at the same time. I've liked and subbed
Giving me PTSD here with these old aggressive randoms
I remember taking the time to kill the Strange Plant in the Rogue's Den. Your max hit was capped at 3, and I wasn't sure if the Verac's I was wearing helped.
@@mariatelos what did it drop?
I for one miss em, a lot.
@@PoisonSwampRS Nothing, not even the the Strange Fruit.

I felt like a huge part of the game died when they removed the aggressive random events man

Collecting feathers from fishing bots was my favorite. Anything over 10k seemed like millions to me back then

Love these history vids bro, you're so good at them :)

The Mr. Mordaut event was my favorite as well! I remember having to leave out of a specific door after completing the event as a kid.

that was incredible. im shocked the views are still so low, every runescape old-timer would enjoy watching this
Thanks for this nostalgia trip bro

Really enjoyed this, great job finding clips for all these
I honestly don't know why they got rid of the skilling randoms, especially the evil chicken.
Got two d axe heads in my life time, I loved when players tried begging for them back lel
Bring these back i miss them so much!

Lol I totally forgot about the abyss intercept teleport event. Good times dude

Great video!
I remember so many people complaining about losing their lobster pot to the whirlpool event. Especially at the Karamja docks 😂

Absolutely fucking not bro what

I remember then the Camo set was mistakenly made tradable. Each piece was going for a few mil each.
I was just wondering what happened to the aggressive randoms. I'm surprised they removed them considering I feel like they were a good bot deterrent.
When i was a kid i didnt understand how to get off evil bobs island. So i stopped playing runescape

I agree
most hated random was def the box of doom
That damn chicken. Or my axe head flying.
These events were so confusing before I understood English
Solid 2nd monitor content.
I thought the poison gas was just how chest worked
Good stuff
“This guy is such a choober”
Bring all of this back. Tired of the bots

Bro, get an original personality. Please.
Having to use the arrows to fix the beehive random event was awful. So glad they changed it.
