"A group of billionaires and business titans working to shape U.S. public opinion of the war in Gaza privately pressed New York City’s mayor last month to send police to disperse pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University, according to communications obtained by The Washington Post and people familiar with the group.
Business executives including Kind snack company founder Daniel Lubetzky, hedge fund manager Daniel Loeb, billionaire Len Blavatnik and real estate investor Joseph Sitt held a Zoom video call on April 26 with Mayor Eric Adams (D), about a week after the mayor first sent New York police to Columbia’s campus, a log of chat messages shows. During the call, some attendees discussed making political donations to Adams, as well as how the chat group’s members could pressure Columbia’s president and trustees to permit the mayor to send police to the campus to handle protesters, according to chat messages summarizing the conversation."

Rights are a social construct something we all agree on. Rights don't exist in nature. But every human on the planet that had children agree killing children is wrong. The current tally is 764 civilians in Israel Vs 30,000+ civilians in Gaza and 479 civilians in the West Bank.
Of the civilians killed on October 7 -36 were children of which 2 were infants. Since then 116 children have been killed in the West Bank and over 14,000 children have been killed in Gaza (7,700 of which have been positively identified).
If lives on both sides are of equal value - given the ratio of 40 Palestinians to 1 Israeli - surely you should be 40 times as shocked, saddened and disgusted by the Palestinian death toll?
Worse, there have been 389 Palestinian children killed for each 1 of the Israeli children sickeningly taken from this world. Are you 389 times as distraught?
The answer is obviously that you're not... and why would that be? Why is the life of an Israeli child worth more than 389 Palestinian children to you?
I have my suspicions, but I'll give you a chance to give some sort of cogent answer to that question... Go ahead, I'll wait...

I wouldn’t hold your breath. They own everything- politicians, real estate, huge corporations including ALL media outlets. Or the platforms they broadcast on, or the parent company of that. From what I saw the NYPD was extremely professional and did a great job clearing out the protesters with minimal violence. They should be applauded.

Yes, stat heads, I know about the NYC is the Safest Big City in America stats. Stats are jiggered and massaged and manipulated all the time. There is no reason to believe that NYC authorities are preternaturally honest in this regard.
Make the universities start paying taxes. Property taxes, capital gains taxes, etc. there is nothing “nonprofit” about these institutions. They are more money driven than any “for-profit” company.

The thing that is interesting about this situation is even the Pro-Palestine channels, like this one, preface what they say with Hamas started this with October 7th and as such Israel had a right to respond. The thing is, this started well before October 7th. Israel has treated the Palestiniains like SH_T for decades. Rationing what is allowed into Palestine, rationing the amount of food able to get in and pretty much dictating the lives of the Palestinian people. Seems like Israel is at the root of this problem. Meanwhile, the world has known this was happening. Particularly countries like the US. If Hamas had not done, what they did, nobody would be thinking of Palestine right now. They would continue to be subjugated to rule and dictatorship of Israel. These were, and currently are, oppressed people. The US was once a colony of Britain, yet US gained its independence in a violent way. That is celebrated annually on July 4th. When the Palestinian people seek their independence they are criticized by just about everyone. Even the people who are Pro-Palestine. The Israeli's call them Human Animals. The world could have prevented this by intervening before and chose not too.
