Nice video man, spotted myself at 10:50 in the Gemini. I did the whole event with a completely stock diff as I broke my strengthened one last year, just eased it off the line then into it once the clutch is out. Made it all the way to the finals for a trophy. Sick weekend!
@@russssh thanks man, yeah it's got a turbo'd Isuzu 4ZD1 engine from an 86 Rodeo, they're an easy conversion into a Gemini and despite being basically a sohc 8v forklift engine, make real easy power. It made 422rwhp on BP98 on 25 psi. I was running 20 at Jambo so about 380rwhp. TF Rodeo 5 speed box in it. And yeah, currently an open diff haha. I've had the car since late 1998. Doing a BW78 diff conversion and updating the ECU next year from a Haltech E8 to a Link G4X Fury with Plazmaman intake, DBW etc. I want 9's with a H pattern. It's gone 10.7 at Jambo in 2011 before I started breaking diff gears.
The Jamboree started as a Volkswagen Beetle-only event. Over the last 32 years of running the event, it has evolved into Sport Compact racing. It's awesome to see how far the sport and category has progressed. There are still plenty of 4's and rotaries (and Beetles) at this event. Have you been?
@@davidhusband5022 haha I think a lot of people may feel the same (I felt the same for a while too) but it’s certainly brought in bigger crowds and is entertaining but I also love V8’s and 6’s as well as 4’s and rotaries. I’ve owned them all and love them all for their own unique reasons.
6's have been racing since the noughties, competitor and spectator numbers tanked a while back at Jamboree so they allowed V8's to compete from early 2010's as there were a lot of efi turbo V8's that didn't fit into ANDRA classes at the time and were basically ostracised. So I think the organisers said hey come race with us, we know how it feels to be outsiders. I wish it was just small car/import scene again too but I know the 8's help keep the event viable. On the plus side it's definitely picked up in popularity again, crowds were great this year. I've raced Jambo since 1997 so i've seen a lot haha.
choice video - i see myself in this video haha was down track side with my camera
Haha awesome mate! Cracking day but a shame about all of the delays hey!
@@russssh yea there was alot of that going on

@@russssh used to go when it was an unmolested event. screw v8s, they are the enemy.
