As a Catholic Christian and a Knight of Columbus, I try to maintain my saintly hood and behave like a saint and not commit into any sins especially the seven deadly sins. Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Sloth, Pride, Greed, Pride and it's usually not easy because I may feel vulnerable and weak and powerless. But I do look up to the Saints such as Saint Michael the archangel, Saint Therese the little flower of God and Saint Padre Pio for encouragement and help on how to become a Saint. And my mom knows that I'm trying my best to become a Saint and it's true but what could I be the Patron Saint of? Could I be the Patron saint of divided and broken families such as my own. And if that's the case, well I could tell broken family members to become kind, understanding, patient and respectful and to become empathetic and sympathetic towards others. And I have to remember the virtue of chastity and humility.

WHO says there aren't any Saints today? There are so many!! There's not enough space here to list even half of them. And very recently : Sister Claire Crocket who is destined for Sainthood? The whole beatification & canonization process often takes many years - sometimes even centuries. Not all Saints are like St Francis of Assisi or St Domenic - there are thousands of others who never belonged to any religious order but nonetheless lived there lives coherently and with great love for Jesus and Mary and for the Holy Eucharist. And furthermore there are countless people, even today, whose holiness and faith are known to God alone....
I don't know of any living saints although I see people in the comments saying there are but don't mention names. I do wonder about that nun in Gower, Missouri.
I was miraculously healed of brain tumor thru Christ and now of another illness a HOLY PRIEST EXORCIST has prayed 2 Christ for me and is a SAINT 4 sure Fr! I am the PROOF OF CHRIST and intercession of ST FR ROOKEY,ST CASEY,AND FR R

The title can be seen as true if seen from the lens of the general lack of holiness in the members of the Chruch at large. If there are saints they seem nowhere to be seen. Seemingly nobody is in the unitive way in the hierarchy.
This is simply not true. God always raises saints in His Church, especially, as we are told when evil abounds--grace abounds more. We are, I believe, in a time of saints, those quiet and hidden, meek and prayerful people all over the world. I know some of these right at my church.
They are indeed, for all of us! And there are so many others - do a google search: Saints of the 20th century. ALso, do remember that the whole beatification & canonization process often takes many years - sometimes even centuries. Pope Francis has so far canonised an extraordinary number of souls: about 911! Many of them died centuries ago.... So there is great hope for our century!

I laugh at everyone here getting riled up over the title when Father explained why such titles are the way they are halfway through. Does anyone not judt watch through a video without commenting anymore?
I know a devour parish priest who, after arranging my grandfather's funeral with my mother, asked, "is there anyone else in your family who needs prayers? I would be happy to pray for them" She asked, Could you pray for my daughter and SIL? And before she could say more, he said, "are they trying to conceive?" We were. We had been hoping to have children from the day we were born... seven long heartbreaking years. We had temporarily given up costly medical testing during my grandfather's last illness. She didn't tell me right away, as we were very involved with grieving.... I remember, when he soberly greeted me on the day of the funeral, feeling suddenly strange, and warm all over. One month after the funeral, I realized I was pregnant. I threw out the first test I took in anger, because I assumed it had to be outdated. We weren't trying, there had barely been a chance for me to conceive at all. After I took the second test, I told my husband and we cried until we laughed and laughed until we cried. And then, when I went for the first ultrasound, the tech casually asked us, "You're aware this is a twins pregnancy, right?" We cried the whole way home. Pregnancy went so well. Ob-gyn asked me not to talk about my pregnancy to other mothers of twins because, "it's not usually like this at all" We went just about full term for twins, delivery went fine, babies were healthy and large enough to go home right away and were up to the 100th percentile in size, weight and development by the time they were maybe 4 months old. They are beautiful, kind, wonderful children and made their First Communion last year. I thank God every day. We are not the only childless couples he has prayed for with such astounding effect. I suspect I may one day, as a very old woman, be writing a letter of witness about him.
What about Martyrs who suffer every day under the followers of rhe Desert Demon? It is insulting to Christians of Mesopotamia who fight and die for the true faith. In Burma aswell. I personally know people who's fathers and brothers died fighting the Mujahadeen in Bosnia and Herzegovina to defend the catholic faith of Croats in those lands.
The Nigerians who died under terrorist attack during mass in church, also in the Philippines. The underground Chinese Catholics. The catholics in the middle east, esp. In Palestine/Israel and Syria. The catholics in Nicaragua and in Armenia. So many martyrs last year.
This helps us understand how heavy was the cross Jesus carried. “He was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, upon Him was the chastisement that makes us whole” (Is 53:5). “The Lord was pleased to crush Him in infirmity” (Is 53:10). The word “crushed” is a great understatement, but it’s the best the English language can do. We can see why Jesus screamed on Calvary: “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Mk 15:34) No one has ever suffered to a degree that was even remotely comparable to Jesus’ suffering. Jesus says: “Come, all you who pass by the way, look and see whether there is any suffering like My suffering” (Lam 1:12). Prayer: Jesus, I love You. Give me the grace to avoid sin and to lead others to become Your disciples. Promise: Jesus “made the rounds of the neighboring villages instead, and spent His time teaching.” -Mk 6:6

I bind unto myself today The strong Name of the Trinity, By invocation of the same, The Three in One and One in Three. I bind this day to me for ever. By power of faith, Christ's incarnation; His baptism in the Jordan river; His death on Cross for my salvation; His bursting from the spicèd tomb; His riding up the heavenly way; His coming at the day of doom; I bind unto myself today. I bind unto myself the power Of the great love of the cherubim; The sweet 'well done' in judgment hour, The service of the seraphim, Confessors' faith, Apostles' word, The Patriarchs' prayers, the Prophets' scrolls, All good deeds done unto the Lord, And purity of virgin souls. I bind unto myself today, The virtues of the starlit heaven, The glorious sun's life-giving ray, The whiteness of the moon at even, The flashing of the lightning free, The whirling wind's tempestuous shocks, The stable earth, the deep salt sea, Around the old eternal rocks. I bind unto myself today, The power of God to hold and lead, His eye to watch, His might to stay, His ear to hearken to my need. The wisdom of my God to teach, His hand to guide, His shield to ward, The word of God to give me speech, His heavenly host to be my guard. Against the demon snares of sin, The vice that gives temptation force, The natural lusts that war within, The hostile men that mar my course; Or few or many, far or nigh, In every place and in all hours, Against their fierce hostility, I bind to me these holy powers. Against all Satan's spells and wiles, Against false words of heresy, Against the knowledge that defiles, Against the heart's idolatry, Against the wizard's evil craft, Against the death wound and the burning, The choking wave and the poisoned shaft, Protect me, Christ, till Thy returning. Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort and restore me. Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger. I bind unto myself the Name, The strong Name of the Trinity; By invocation of the same. The Three in One, and One in Three, Of Whom all nature hath creation, Eternal Father, Spirit, Word: Praise to the Lord of my salvation, Salvation is of Christ the Lord. Amen 🙏🏻May the Lord Jesus put his hands on our eyes also, for then we too shall begin to look not at what is seen but at what is not seen. May he open the eyes that are concerned not with the present but with what is yet to come, may he unseal the heart's vision, that we may gaze on God in the Spirit, through the same Lord, Jesus Christ, whose glory and power will endure throughout the unending succession of ages. Amen🙏🏻💐 (Prayer of Origen, 185-254 AD)
I’m not a sedevacantist. In fact I find that conclusion abominable. Not a big fan of the novus ordo or even the Pope neither. But whenever these guys are not talking about the Holy Father, they speak essential truths that are not being said anymore. God bless.
Father is making a general sweeping statement in exaggeration to make a point. He does not mean we have absolutely no saintly people in our modern world.
Yes! And Sister Claire Crockett, for whom the process is just being opened. And there are countless others who are still known only to God... Not all Saints belong to religious orders, either
There is a problem with the title of this video. There are saints in every age. God raises saints. In times like these there are actually many saints because it takes great moral courage to be a Christian when all the devils are loosed from Hell. To claim that there is no faith or no one doing it right is a bold claim. Many saints are hidden in their holiness. If God wishes to make bigger saints then He will do so. It is in God's hands. Our job is to love God and work with Him sanctifying us.
Read about Fr Walter Cisek, and his 23 year journey in a Russian prison camp - which he discerned his calling to be. There were no miracles, many Catholics have never hear of him. If not a saint, he is what the Jesuit priests were called to in Christ. We don’t see it now, just a short 50 years later.
Maybe instead of only preaching in the church, the Priests should take the parishioners to the streets to talk to the homeless and befriend them. They are Jesus.
We need to learn real theosis, franciscan or not, but theosis in practical terms, easy to reproduce, easy to understand, easy to copy and imitate... Help us, teach us. If you're a real son of Saint Francis, I beg you to.
What an idiotic comeon title. We DO have saints today, both working AND in formation. But why would God want to show YOU who they are and what HE is doing with them? When YOU actively work on and insist on holiness FOR REAL ... then and only perhaps ... HE will allow you to become aware of them. Opinions of men mean absolutely nothing. Get rid of the negative expectancies ... and GET Going ... Oh, whats that you say ... its too hard, I don't want to give this or that up in the pursuit? Then right there is your stumbling block. The Lord knows your heart. Get it right and everything else will fall in place. Get rid of the double mind. He will help ... if you have the guts to take up the journey.
The title intrigued me. The video was good, well spoken. And your comments have value. MAY THE MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST COVER US, SAVE US 🙏🩸🙏
Amen. I know it is the INTENT that matters in the eyes of our Lord. Generally, I believe the intent of the Sensus Fidelium seems to be really good.... just bad technique here and there. Ha. Like most of us who keep trying to grow into what the Lord wants us to become while on earth. @@patriciagrenier9082
No Saints today?! You joking right? I know a very holy man in the Philippines in which the people who live near his area said they often saw him bilocating visiting houses with sick people. He is a Hermit Priest living in the Mountains.
"People who have said that it wasn't a fact and Jesus never saw Him rise from the dead. Don't you think somebody would outraged?" I think there is one account (not from the apostles), but because Judaism does not believe in Jesus (who sees Islam like Christianity does) still exists.
This priest doesn’t seem to have much life experience. He gets on my nerves from time to time. He’s so sure of himself and his judgements. I never hear any joy or kindness in his voice. Other times, I think he is excellent; I don’t dislike him, I’m just saying. I wonder how old he was when he was ordained?
@@AnthonyLeCour-ys1inMy husband and I were hoping to conceive as soon as we got married. Seven long, sad years later, we had almost given up all hope, and had quit trying because my beloved grandfather had entered his final illness. While they were arranging his funeral, a very devout but accessible local priest asked my mother who in her family needed prayers, and she named my husband and I. "Are they trying to conceive?" He asked immediately. She didn't tell me right away. We were grieving, you know? When he soberly greeted me at the funeral home, I felt ....suddenly, warm all over, and "blessed", but I couldn't really express to you what that even meant. One month later, I just felt "pregnant" and again, I had no idea why I thought that was supposed to mean. But I was. I was pregnant! I literally threw out the first positive test because I convinced myself it had to be outdated. Went and bought a fresh box.... Husband and I cried until we laughed, and then laughed until we cried. At our first ultrasound, the technician casually asked, "You're aware this is a twins pregnancy, right?" We sobbed and laughed in the car the whole way home, and I thanked God, as I have every day since. Ob-gyn told me not to talk to other mothers of twins about my glowingly healthy, happy, easy pregnancy because, "Twins pregnancies aren't usually like this at all" We went full term, and delivery was fine. Beautiful, healthy boy-girl twins, heavy and healthy enough to come home right away. They are kind, helpful, smart... just so wonderful. They made their First Communion this past year, and it was such a joy. I absolutely did not merit such a gigantic blessing. I anticipate probably writing a witness letter about this priest as an old woman one day. We are not the only barren couple he has prayed for!
@@AnthonyLeCour-ys1in Friend, there continue to be countless miracles around the world: miraculous healings through Saints such as St. Charbel, St Padre Pio, St Rita of Cascia. St Andre Bessete and others, as well as by the Madonna in Medugorje, Kibeho and Lourdes; eucharistic miracles, miracles of the sun in Medugorje (which I was fortunate to witness), miraculous interventions that have saved people from death. Start doing some research and you will find plenty
Ohhh WOW. You seem to be called out for your title. Thank you for this informative sermon. It’s not easy in today’s society it does however make us aware of what we have to avoid pray for and I believe we must always ask for help and prayers to remain strong in our faith and our love for for all that we have been given and be sooo grateful for all that we have been given by our Heavenly Father and the wonderful gift of Dive Mercy. Thank you Father and please continue this gift you give us.
Is this a priest talking so negative about trads? What a shame 😢😢😢. I’ve never experienced this with other trads. Tell me where this is so I can pray for them. Most trads I know don’t have TV and don’t watch the news unless there may be a snowstorm so we can prepare somewhat. I’m so sad when I hear clergy talking this way. Do you realize your negative words may be contributing if this is what you are repeating 😭🙏🙏🛐🛐🛐🛐
What are you talking about? What does this conference have to do with trads? It's about the lack of Saints today & St. Francis of Assisi. I don't always like Fra Anthony's conferences, but so what. Who am I?
This Friar is preparing for a Politian/Protestant life. The only thing he has learned is "personality" and hopes he will get accepted at TED Talks. He uses protestant favorites like "things to be hoped for/evidence that appear not" This Friar is one that complains he needs proof. Where is his hope? faith? patience?
So if we're supposed to just be holy and not stalk the news then why create pathetic video titles? Why use psycho terms positive negative? Be Catholic. And we will follow. I tend to avoid the ''negative'' videos most of the time unless it seems unique.
This video was obviously inspired by the Devil … because St Paul commanded the brethren to “Encourage one another ..”. Be careful, there are not so witty brethren attempting to take your crowns !!
Paul also excommunicated people for being heretics and corrupting the early church. He is preaching a harsh truth that modern society is not as good as we like to pretend it is.

Hold on - saints are definitely in the making today...
Isnt it Catholic prophesy that there would be many Saints in the end times ?
WHO says there aren't any Saints today? There are so many!! There's not enough space here to list even half of them. And very recently : Sister Claire Crocket who is destined for Sainthood?
The whole beatification & canonization process often takes many years - sometimes even centuries.
Not all Saints are like St Francis of Assisi or St Domenic - there are thousands of others who never belonged to any religious order but nonetheless lived there lives coherently and with great love for Jesus and Mary and for the Holy Eucharist.
And furthermore there are countless people, even today, whose holiness and faith are known to God alone....
The most sincere talks on RUclips are on this channel. Thank you Friar Anthony
I don't know of any living saints although I see people in the comments saying there are but don't mention names.

The 21 Egyptian coptic martyrs were saints for me.
They are not catholic
There still saints
They are indeed, for all of us! And there are so many others - do a google search: Saints of the 20th century. ALso, do remember that the whole beatification & canonization process often takes many years - sometimes even centuries. Pope Francis has so far canonised an extraordinary number of souls: about 911! Many of them died centuries ago.... So there is great hope for our century!

Who says there aren’t Saints today? That seems extreme and depressing. I know people who I think are saints.
Like... performing miracles? Like could qualify for actual canonization? Like union with God level of prayer life?
I know a devour parish priest who, after arranging my grandfather's funeral with my mother, asked, "is there anyone else in your family who needs prayers? I would be happy to pray for them"
She asked, Could you pray for my daughter and SIL?
And before she could say more, he said, "are they trying to conceive?"
We were.
And then, when I went for the first ultrasound, the tech casually asked us, "You're aware this is a twins pregnancy, right?"
We cried the whole way home.

Father is making a general sweeping statement in exaggeration to make a point. He does not mean we have absolutely no saintly people in our modern world.

It is hard to find a saint these days. Especialy finding one who is walking on the earth.
We don't have the wisdom to win souls. He who wins souls is wise.
We don't have the security to love the homeless.
What kind of music is this?
What about the young saints? Carlos Acutis? There are a few others.
Yes! And Sister Claire Crockett, for whom the process is just being opened. And there are countless others who are still known only to God... Not all Saints belong to religious orders, either
The audio is very static-y.
No grumbling! Oh, wait... That was St. Benedict's rule, not St. Francis
I don’t think people who buy emergency surplus food is why we have a crisis of spirituality today.

The church does this, the have hundreds of thousends of schools, hospitals, helping places for all. All over the world.
We need to learn real theosis, franciscan or not, but theosis in practical terms, easy to reproduce, easy to understand, easy to copy and imitate... Help us, teach us. If you're a real son of Saint Francis, I beg you to.

@awsomewholesomeness1; Just a plain man acting like he wants to be holy. Another Ted Talk personality.
@CVenza Want's to be is an interesting choice. Do you object to any person who wants to be holy?
Maybe you should watch the video instead of just getting offended by the title.
Maybe those who created the title need to become involved in the process enough to know such a title is highly inappropriate. @@marvalice3455
