The one thing I like about the Electrolux line is their lack of smart features. As a former intel professional I value my privacy, and I try to keep my microwave radiation exposure as low as possible for health reasons. If I need to know when the load is done, I have a clock on the wall and a timer on my stove. If I must buy a smart device, the capability will absolutely be neutralized and is just one more thing I detest about these new machines beyond their diminishing quality and ever increasingly engineered obsolescence. One thing that seems pretty crazy about the Electrolux line is that they have no access to the filter. About as logical as a vacuum cleaner or car engine where you have to completely disassemble it to service the filter.

We have an Elder Care facility so we do laundry daily. Sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. We had an Electrolux washer and dryer. 18 months ago replaced them with GE. Total JUNK. After 2 repairs we gave them away and went back to Electrolux. The new machines are even better than the old ones. Love how quiet they are and the wonderful job they do cleaning. The sanitize cycle is a major plus. Customer service with Electrolux is 100x better than GE. We love our Electrolux...

I just spent almost $1500 the other day on an Electrolux washer and it’s hands down the best washer I’ve ever used. I own a tree business so I come home filthy dirty everyday and couldn’t believe my clothes came out so clean, so fast and as dry as I have seen seen coming out of a washer. Yes I use the highest spin cycle and I did on my last two washers(Sumsumg and Maytag). Wish I had one of these when I was in military because my uniforms were real nasty after coming back from from months out in the back 40 or a year or so overseas in combat. I wouldn’t have had to buy so many over those years.

The LG WM 9500 needs an update in my opinion, is an update coming? Auto soap dispensing, soak cycle, also to stop the drain pump short cycling, add the five turbo Jets like other models and make the wash basin a lot more aggressive geometry pattern like the GE or Bosch. Unless there is an advantage to the less aggressive geometry.

I'm in the market for a new washer. I want to get GE Ultrafresh front load washer. I have seen several videos that show the high pitch sound that people are experiencing spring spin cycle. Some mention shipping bolts can be the issue one guy found it was the motor making the noise. Is this motor issue common? Is it covered under warranty? If issue should I just get LG front load washer?

I have the Electrolux and love the washer but don’t like the dryer because the dryer takes much too long to dry even with the setting set to less dry. I also think that the LG is more reliable from what I’ve read. Something that I found after my purchase is that Electrolux voids your warranty if you have solar panels. I have solar panels and wouldn’t have purchased them had I known.

I want luxury appliances with BASIC abilities included. Extra rinse? Isolated extra spin? I want stability. With pets, frequent wash of throw rugs, quilts and other heavier items takes place. Therefore STABILITY matters. Dozens of cycles pointless if the basic options omitted.

One of the advantages of the manufacturer NOT making their own parts is that replacement parts for DIYers are often available online for dirt cheap. I don't know if that's true with LG. On the other hand, that part might not have failed in the first place if it were higher quality.

As GE and Electrolux are only ones with reversable dryer AND washer doors I bet they are often cross shopped. I know that's what we did, and yes, we did reverse the doors to fit our installation. We ended up with an Electrolux set as the GE units are somewhat larger in all dimensions, not only depth, and large enough that they wouldn't fit into the space we had without modification to the cabinets and countertop. We didn't even consider LG as the washer door isn't reversable which we needed for our installation so it wasn't even in the running. Often it's something quite unrelated to the actual performance of the machine that makes the decision for you. Hopefully we'll get good long-term service from our new Electrolux machines.
As an aside the recommended Electrolux dryer lint screen fix is to install the new "double" lint screen basket that comes on the new models. No idea if that solves the problem (hopefully) but we've had our Electrolux washer/dryer set for a few months now and no problems so far.

Bought Electrolux washer 2 years ago. The main bearing on the tub is already going.
Owned LG and Samsung and the bearings went out in 5 years and I thought that was bad.
Bought this due to good ratings. Not good for longevity or reliability.
Really cheaply built. Most washers now still use clamps to retain hoses so
they stay in place and don't leak. Not Electrolux they use wire ties. So you
have to cut them off and buy new wire ties to take hoses on and off. The Samsung
and LG front load washer had balance weights that were metal or a really hard composite
of cement and some kind of resin. Not this crappy Electrolux. It has a poor quality of cement.
You have to be careful taking them off while disassembling the washer for fear they will
crumble. I bought the washer because it was highly rated. That was due to features and hype.
Don't buy this thing unless you want to replace it in 2 years. Replacing the tub bearing
requires buying the rear tub assembly. That part costs around $400 (I got an open box off of ebay for 250)
But if you had a repair man do this, the part would cost at least $400 and the
repair labor would likely be over $200. So you are paying over $600 dollars
to repair a washer that is only worth $800. So unless you want to Spend at
least $800 dollars every two years don't buy Electrolux.
By the way, working on this thing is horrible as well. This thing is the
biggest POS I have ever seen. Makes me certain I will buy LG the next time.
Oh, and they mix SAE and metric to make it even more fun.
