- In this video I give you some very important tips on picking the perfect raspberry. If you pick them too early they taste bland and if you pick them too late they taste mushy.
Here is a hint, it is all about the feel.
These are by far my favourite fruit in a pot because they produce sooo many berries. What is your favourite fruit to grow in a container?
Nice
Thanks!
Good video!
Thank you!
Thanks for the update!! Excited to see your video on over-wintering your plant :)
Coming this week!
How big is the pot? Good stuff 👏
The pots I have been using are 12x12x12 inches. A pretty good size for about 5-6 canes.
Do these send out runners?
Every spring they will send out new roots that spread like crazy. Not runners but a wide root net if not controlled.
@@pottedliving thanks!
Jealous 😪 just lost my raspberry to this Texas freeze your videos and motivating me to keep trying
No! That sucks. I have lost many plants over the years. But it keeps me trying new things :)
My bushel and berry raspberry shortcakes are flowering again this month. Did you let your raspberry fruit again?
I did. If you have the same variety as I do then they get 2 crops. One in the early summer and one in the late summer. The late summer crop is the one with the sweetest berries.
What is the composition of your medium? And what do you use for fertilizing?
For my raspberry plant I used PRO-MIX Potting Mix in a pot with plenty of drainage. To keep it fed I use a general 10-10-10 fertilizer.
How would you winterize the raspberry plant? Do you keep all your plants on the balcony in winter?
Yes. I always keep everything in the balcony so that they get a solid freeze. I have a raspberry video coming soon for how to overwinter.
Hi.. I have one raspberry plant in a pot. It didn't bear any fruit yet and it has two long stalks. Do you have a video on how to winterize it? Thank you.
A video is coming this week!
