A pine cone is a cluster of pine nuts. Small scales containing the seeds of the tree are gathered in a round shape. Not only the fruits of the pine tree, but all of conifer trees' fruits are called pine cones, and some of them are edible.
Pine cones spread or fold their scales depending on humidity. At lower humidity, cracks between scales of pine cones become wider, while at higher humidity, they shrink. If you use this nature of pine cones, you can use them as natural humidifiers. The dried pine cones can be used to make a fire outdoors because they are so flammable, but they also act as a kindling and cause severe forest fire.
