  • Today we're taking a first look (for me) at the Inibuilds Curtis P40 Warhawk in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's not perhaps the most accurately modelled aircraft in terms of systems of flight dynamics, but it's good fun, and if you're looking for something accessible and aerobatic, it will certainly fit the bill.

Apoligies for me being drowned out by the engine inside the aircraft! I'll remember to check it twice next time :) If you're interested in getting a copy for yourself, you can find it at the following URL:

Warbirds in MSFS2020 ? Flying Iron is your friend. I have all four of their fighters, and love them.

If you regularly fly the Flying Iron birds you quickly realise how weak this P40 is tbh. It's ended up as a hanger queen for me. Luckily it was only $3 on some crazy sale when I got it.

Nothing like a thrill of a Bf109 takeoff. When I first jumped in, I couldn't even taxi with it. That monster is head to head my favourite plane with the Comanche, but for completely different reasons.

Very nice review Jonathan. I've owned this plane since it was initially released. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I haven't flown it yet. It does like absolutely gorgeous, ❤ and I really should pull it out of the Microsoft hanger and enjoy flying her. 😊

Nice review! I bought this when it was released, but have not used it much, due to the rather poor flight model. But the Flight Replicas P-40N, which I recently bought, is flying much better and is very beautifully modeled!

Looks cool but I don't get the point of flying a war plane in MSFS without the ability to use it in simulated dogfight or doing other missions. A special episode on basic fighter maneuvers and how the plane performs would be nice. For me that's what makes the fun part of war plane simulations doing all the maneuvers in the air to get the enemy away from your back or in front of your machinegun. I loved to play Rise of Flight

I truly hope that A2A brings their P-40 to MSFS20 someday if not MSFS20 then I hope for MSFS24.

Sorry to bother you with this question about Tobii eye tracker, but I would like to know your opinion. Some players in MSFS use only the head movement and not eye movement - do you use head only or both? And main question. Is it really worth it when you can use it only when taxiing or turning (in the air) , because I have noticed many players are turning it off when they want to zoom on screens/knobs and if they want to dial something, change course etc. or use the FMC/MCDU. I'm thinking about this tobii eye tracker over a year and I still cant decide if I can utilize it for the higher price (at least in my case I consider it rather expensive). I mostly fly airliners so when imagining myself setting up FMC and overhead and MCP I see it most of the time "OFF". Thank you for your insights :)

I have been watching your video for a while now and really enjoy your content. I noticed you trimmed out the aircraft for staight and level flight.
where I have persistent problem where aircraft fails to maintain straight and level flight, instead spiraling uncontrollably towards the ground. Impossible to fly straight and level without constant inputs
Changing controllers (4) had no effect, reinstalling the game made no difference, even a windows refresh made no difference. No help that I have not tried inthe forums
Any help would be great to look what to change / check etc.

Try Flight Replicas P-40N! Much better flight model. It is in the Marketplace.

When you say "nose boss" do you mean spinner? The last person I heard refering to a nose boss was a plastic surgeon....

I'm not huge on system detail but in VR this plane is unuseable. When you look out the side of the window glass the view is soft focus and not clear (confirmed by others on the MSFS forum) I raised this issue with inibuilds and was told "nothing we can do" No more inibuilds aircraft for me. I wanted to love thiis plane but no joy.
