I'd watch you two over anything on regular TV . 👍👍👍❤
You are so kind thank you 😊
ANY DAY!
They are adorable 🥰
I agree....regular tv is nothing but reruns of reality tv - which is mostly stupid.
Absolutely!!❤
Thank Tipper and Matt for sitting a spell and talking with us. Your harvest was real good. Praying for sweet Granny.❤️✝️🙏
Tipper, my wife and I will watch as soon as we get home this evening from church. We enjoy all your videos. But we especially enjoy the Sunday evening ones where both you and Matt are in them.
Thank you 😊
Matt , it was in the 60s last night. Tonight lower. The heat’ll be back end of week. I wanted to yell hallelujah walking the dog at 2am. Fallish in Boston by the Sea. God bless y’all for doing that hard work. ❤❤
Lovely
I am praying for Granny. She is such a delight.
Thank you!!
Two handsome folks. What a plentiful garden picking. I’m with Matt having tomato sandwiches everyday. We pray for Granny and her health.❤
Thanks so much 😀
I don't like the hot weather either 😒 l m like Matt.
My fav..toasted tomato and mayo sandwich!!
I just love watching your videos when you're either picking from your garden and or questions. You and Matt just seem so calm and relaxed and blend together so well. I love your energies!❤❤
I'm so envious of your peaches. Grew up next to a peach orchard and the gentleman farmer would leave a small basket of peaches early in the morning during the season for my breakfast.
He also taught me to drive on his Farm All tractor and allowed me to roam free on his wooded acreage.
He was very kind to a child that wasn't his responsibility. Now Mr. Tenny is part of my best memories.
Love those memories!
I loved listening to your stories especially the one about the window screens. Matt used his screen to go to the creek to pan for gold. Katy took her screen out so that she could throw stuff out and then shoot. When Matt said that she must take after your side of the family and you responded, I don't remember sifting for gold with any screens - I laughed out loud. You're a beautiful couple.
Sooooooooooo relaxing listening to the two of you. I love how you banter back and forth with a little silliness and lots of love. Sending loving and peace-filled thoughts to everyone.
I grew up in Alabama and didn’t have air conditioning until I was 12 years old. We got a window unit and that first summer me, my sister and brother slept on pallets on the floor. We thought it was amazing.
Before that it was screened windows and doors and big metal Electrolux fans at the foot of the bed. Our car had no A/C and we drove with the windows down, hanging our heads out the windows like dogs! Good memories when we were all a little tougher and adaptive than folks are now. Prayers for your sweet mama.
God Bless your family❤ My dad was from Harlan ky and we went there every summer. You guys remind me of those good times. Tipper has the most soothing voice❤
When I was in high school we moved into our third house on Hwy. 601. Boy was it hot in the summertime! This house had an attic fan. You are correct, they are loud, but we got used to it and opened our windows and the breeze kept us cool enough to sleep. A few years later, Daddy bought a window air conditioner that cooled the kitchen and the bedrooms. That was very nice, too. Before that in our previous house, I still remember how some nights it was difficult to sleep for the heat. I'm with Matt. The cold is easier to take, but the Lord won't give us anything we can't handle.
I love watching you and Matt and girls,I hope granny is doing better🙏🏻🙏🏻💕
Thank you 😊
@@CelebratingAppalachia May God bless Granny and hope she feels a little better each day.
Absolutely love your chats! Outshine popsicle should sponsor your videos!
Thank you!!
I'm out here in the Mountain West whining that is in the 90's to 100's depending on the day, when ya'll are dealing with heat and humidity. I lived in MS for about 2 years and remember how awful the heat and humidity gets in the South during the Summer. Bless the both of you for having to be out in that! I am envious of your wonderful garden!! Love your videos!
Tipper is mild. Watching her reminds me to slow down and enjoy life. She recognizes and acknowledges so many of the precious things we miss in the hustle of a busy life. Made it to the end of the video and I loved the "stick with what you know" comment. My late husband would have said the same thing. Made me laugh. Thanks for sharing that.
I'm with Matt on the weather. This heat just drains my energy 😞
😀 thank you for visiting with us
I love to hear your stories. It's the way I remember growing up ❤
You both make me so happy. The heat wave just broke up here in Massachusetts. It's deliciously cool. Matt has a great sense of humor and I enjoy it. Tipper, I know you know that I always enjoy your stuff. Those beans sure do look like a night's supper. Hugs and lots of love.
Thank you 😊 glad you got some cooler weather!
I'd love to be sitting there breaking and shelling beans with you.
I just love the videos you both do together, as each of you are so sincere. You tease each other in a good way as you enjoy your popsicles! Those green beans and tomatoes are absolutely beautiful! They will be really nice looking when you can them, too. I’m sure you both stayed inside once you went into the house with a.c. as hot as it is outside! Don’t work too hard!
Hi! I just harvested a bunch of carrots I had planted in a grow bag on my back deck! I have a ton of yellow cherry tomatoes and I've spotted a Cherokee purple growing, I've had about half dozen of Cucumbers so far, potatoes will be ready to harvest in a week or so, strawberries are still producing, 2 little sugar baby water melons are on the vine...not bad for planting in bags on a deck 😊 we were under heat advisories 28th and 29th 97 degrees on thermometer however with humidity feel of 106-110😢 back in the 80s now. Still praying for granny❤
That is great 😊
😂😂😂You are the cutest couple! You have a beautiful smile tipper!🥰
When I was 12 My mom took me to the pier to fish. By the time I was 14 I stayed from fri. till sun. I learned so much and tried to help so many. People helped me. Had to give back.
Matt had me rolling over the attic fan sucking the curtains off the walls 😂🤣😂❤
We enjoy watching you and Matt talking about your day. It is very interesting and enjoy seeing the harvest you picked for the day and know the hard work you did to get a nice harvest. It is very hot here in Kansas
And hope to see cooler weather and a little rain. Take care and bless your family. You are a blessed family. How wonderful.!
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, love 💚 , and peace all over the world 🌏. I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust so as time goes on it will bring something great for us in the future, hope you don't mind? I'm Gabriel Wood from San Francisco, California where are you from if I may ask?
Hopefully it gets a little cooler for you folks. Prayers and blessings to Granny.🙏
I remember as a kid sleeping on a bed as close to the window as i could get, lying there sweating and how delicious it was to get a breeze across me. 😊 We were living in west central kansas and 100° was common in the summer. My folks got a portable water cooler we could set on a chair! I had to take turns with my sister! 😊 It would spit water ever so often! What a treat that was back then. 60 years ago and more. 😅😅😊
God bless all here.
Love this! So glad to see the fruits of your labor.
Thanks so much!
Matt mentioned quail. When I was a kid grandpa's farm was quail central. But, I haven't seen any in years. But a couple of days ago we were sitting on the porch and I heard one call. A few minutes later he landed on our walk. He sat there until my dog saw him and chased him off. I don't know if someone near here is raising them or not. But I hope more come around.
That is wonderful!!
The grouse and quail have returned to my grandparents farm (Several generations farmed since 1866, SE KY), not farmed since 1967. It appears as if no one ever lived there. The return of the wildlife helps ease the sadness.
You guys are so much fun! Praying for Granny. Grammy from Texas
You guys are so cute. I am a North Carolina girl living out in Wyoming and love hearing your beautiful southern accent. I love watching you two sit and talk. Love your gardens!!! thank you for all your videos.
Thank you so much!!
Your garden looks great. I canned all morning on Saturday garden is almost gone . Tomatoes are still hanging on very hot in my neck of the woods. Praying for granny . Have a blessed week
It would be so hot during wheat harvest, but I would take my water jug and pour the water over my shirt and jeans to try to cool off. And when it dried out, I would do it again. Granny and pawpaw did not have air-conditioning but they had a water cooler in the window. I tried to sit close to that window to feel the cool air. Growing up, we had an attic fan that we would only turn on when it was time to go to bed. You would be frozen by the next morning because of all the cool air, it would draw in at night 😊
Love just listening to you two talking.
Thank you 😊
Thank ya'll. Praying for Granny.
I wish I had a hundred friends like Matt. He’s the best !!!
Another nice visit! We have a cold wave here in NJ . Low humidity, so the wife and I are off to Lancaster, Pa til Saturday.just 2 hrs. Away. We already gave the neighbors some tomatoes and I just canned 9 jars of Uncle Bob’s bread and butter pickles. Everyone loves my pickles and I will have to can many more before fall. Your bean harvest is amazing. We just enjoy eating our green beans. This gardening is a lot of work. But at 78 it is keeping me feeling young!! Lol!
Super interesting conversation for you two. I really enjoyed this one the best so far. Mat may not like heat much, but he sure was more talkative today. It was fun listening him have talk the way Katie and Corey describe him. He has me eating tomato sandwiches now. Reminds me how much I loved them when a kid on the farm.
Y'all's garden is so beautiful. I just love watching y'all walk through it and your land. Lol. I know that sounds crazy but I live in an apt in the city and there's no privacy. I'm from the country and I'm not used to this at all. I planted some tomatoes and peppers in pots this year. They are doing good but it's just not the same as being able to go out in your yard and plant your garden and sit out there in the mornings and evenings. Y'all are so very blessed. Prayers for Granny also. She's such a sweet lady.
I grew up in Louisiana where it is VERY humid and hot and we didn't have air conditioning either. We had an attic fan that had a timer on it so you could set it for a while when you went to bed so it would run at least until you went to sleep. I remember laying in the window so I could get as much air as possible.
We used to Luv listening to Bob whites and whipperwills as kids
You were smart Tipper, I’m still scared to leave my window open at night but what I do is I lower the sash from the top. I love the cool night air in the summertime! It’s so much better than ac. We didn’t have ac when I was little either, we had metal fans too. Mom put it inside the screen door to pull the air through but I remember some very hot summer days in the 60’s.Just like Matt I cannot stand summer heat, I only make it through by thinking of fall-it is my favorite season! The shadows cast long, the colors are beautiful-rust, gold, etc., the sky is so blue and the air crisp. I love just thinking about fall. We will make it!
I tried Matt's handkerchief trick and it did keep me cooler!! Praying for Granny!!
Great!!
Ever since the creek behind the house dried up I've missed the sound of a bull frog at night! Even when we get enough rain to put water in the creek the frogs are gone.😐
Im with you Matt. I am ready for a cool Fall. The locusts calling in back ground reminds me of summers on my Aunt s farm in Oklahoma.
Mrs Tipper try them Rattlesnake beans after they dry, shake em and see if they sound…
Great video y’all!
😀 thank you Justin
Here in Texas, we used to hear whippoorwills/Bob Whites at night. It’s been years since I’ve heard one. Prayers for Granny.❤🙏
We've been under a heat dome for several weeks now here in Texas. Waiting for it to lift or move somewhere else. When people fall on the pavement or concrete they are getting burns because the asphalt/concrete is so terribly hot right now. I've contacted the popsicle company several times about sponsoring y'all but they never get back to me. I've even sent them links to your videos. Praying so hard for Granny these days now. Praying for a healing miracle! Hugs!
Thank you 😊
Those tomatoes look sooo good!!! Made my mouth water! I love a really ripe tomato on toast with a touch of mayo, salt and pepper! Omg sooo good!!!! Nothing like home grown. In our state we are having problems with produce, maybe because of the heat.
My grandma always grew greasy beans in southern Ohio, and NOTHING tastes like a greasy bean 😊
I can remember having just screen in the 🪟 & we would have a metal bathtubs we put in the kitchen floor before my daddy & granddaddy put in my parents house when I was little.
I just adore the way you two josh each other.. 🥰 and y’all’s bean patch looks absolutely incredible!
A little late again, but hi to you both, don't worry I'm in North Central Florida, it's boiling hot. I love your garden, all that super fresh food. I have my great aunt's old metal fan in the shed. I'm afraid to use it because I will put my fingers in. Have a good canning time. I'll have a mater sandwich tomorrow. Take care♥️🧓🌺
My cousin was like Matt. You didn’t take your good toys to my grandparent’s house when he was there. We called him “Destroy Boy.”
😀
Watching you chat at us in the first minute or so, and it just should be said...Tipper, you are so pretty! Hope you get some respite from this heat, it's sweltering and a tad humid here in the suburbs of Los Angeles as well. Xoxo
You are so kind 😀 thank you!
We used to have plenty of bobwhite, grouse and quail in my area of WV. Somewhere between boyhood and manhood they just disappeared. We would occasionally see a pheasant but they are gone now too. I love watching your videos. Thank you for efforts.
Greetings from San Antonio Texas. First time viewer. I feel you on the heat. It was 106 yesterday here - but thankfully I have great A/C and just stayed inside.
Welcome and thank you for watching 😀
Those Bugs heard every word you said 😂Tipper
😀
We Picked and canned our first beans this past weekend. We are trying a new to us bean called "Turkey craw" They are a big bean but really good.
I love hearing y’all talk about when you were kids! Matt definitely reminds me of my dad….. my dad was always into everything hehe! My nephew Hudson is the same! Hehe…. But … he’s super smart… can fix anything! I think that’s how it goes ….. into everything but very intelligent! 😂❤ it’s been super hot here in western Ky too! Showwwwwww felt like 110 this weekend …. But that’s passed , praise the Lord haha! Well God bless you all! ❤❤
Thank you Tracy 😀
We didn't have ac when I was growing up either, but the heat didn't seam so bad then. Looking at your green beans makes me want a pot of beans with some new potatoes cooked in them. our weather has been strange this year also. June was really wet and cool. Sending prayers for Granny. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us.
It's HOT 🔥 🥵 for sure here in the Springfield plateau of the Missouri Ozarks, and all around us the weather says..
I’m happy to report that my dill pickles are a hit. They’re delicious! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe.
Wonderful 😀
Tommy: “I yelled FIRE when I fell into the chocolate because no one would come if I yelled “CHOCOLATE!” One of my favorites.
😀
I'm just in time 😊
This is an awesome reward for very hot and long day thank you ❤
Thank you for visiting with us!!
My friend always said hot as a Billy goat in a pepper patch. I had layered hair and used a lot of hair spray did not like the car window down. Looks like you are going to be busy with the garden goodies. Prayers for you and your family ❤.
God Bless you Both .. Your Fun !
I got kinfolks down in Houston, Tx and they are having +100F highs the last 15 days with the forecast of at least another 7 days of the same.
Isn't it always reliable that nature strives to prove your perditions wrong. Especially when you tell other about them. But... nature always has a surprise for you 😊 Your garden is beautiful!
Love seeing your beautiful garden. My mom used to call my dad's garden his "truck patch"! He liked to plant enough for the deer and rabbits too he said! My husband and I click our Popsicles together too now!😂 except the ones here are skinny compared to yours!
😀
My mom grew up in a big family and they had an attic fan that was a kind they put in a window. Huge metal looking thing. It would cool off every room in the house except for the room the fan was in. They put it in my moms room and she would bring that up to her siblings for the rest of her life 😁.
😀
Hello from Texas! It was 102 degrees on my porch. I’m not a fan of summer. Great video!
Matt’s not the only one longing for Fall. It was brutal the last two days over here in Maryville. I’ve still got a few tomatoes coming in here and there. It’s been a terrible year for peppers for me. Everything has done terrible except my Serrano plants.
What a troublemaker😂 that Matt was.
I love homegrown tomatoes so much like Matt. I like the bigger tomatoes that cover a slice of bread. Do you ever eat fresh tomatoes on a hot biscuit? Soo good.
We do that is so good 😊
It was hot in Amarillo, Texas today September 7, 2023,. We were 105 degrees today.
Tipper, Please do a video on you making Matt a peach cobbler.😋 🙏🏻
i loved watching y’all pick peaches. I am originally from SW Georgia and I have so many memories of picking huge juicy peaches. Homemade peach ice cream is a favorite! As is blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream💕
I always look forward to a few minutes of calm, peaceful conversation in the beautiful Appalachian outdoors with you two. Thank you for continuing to share your lives.
I love your grateful, optimistic commentary on your garden. It makes me happy. Reminiscing about the old days before air-conditioning... it WAS so hot and miserable...I thank the good Lord we experienced it so we could fully appreciate the blessing of a/c.
Somebody's prayin', I can feel it
Somebody's prayin' for me
Mighty hands are guiding me
To protect me from what I can't see
Lord I believe, Lord I believe
Somebod's prayin' for me
🙏 for Granny
Let’s go fix a mator sandwich, I do love mator sandwiches, had one last nite for supper.
I’m so grateful for your family’s love and caring toward all people. Feeling of a safe place to sit and talk about life.
God bless you all
Thank you so much 😊
My husband and I were in Europe for almost six weeks so our garden is not doing very well this year. I am enjoying your harvest because I will have very little to can this year.
I hope it was a great trip!!
🙏🏼 holding Granny up for strenghth, and multiplied joy. She is already joyful, but Lord help Granny to find even more joy as she ponders on your hand throughout her life ❣️
Thank you 🙏
Your welcome 🙏🏼
I miss her joy 💯🙏🏻💯🕊
Matt should come & live in the UK. July was wet & cool & August is going to be the same. Our high summer temperature is 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Please send us some warm weather. Your garden is lovely.
I used to harvest fiddlehead ferns in Massachusetts. But not a Texas thing. Using these gifts from the ground are part and parcel of Appalachian cuisine. Not only do Appalachians know how to make use of foraged foods and native plants, they also know how to do it well. That’s just one of the reasons why Appalachian cuisine is so unique - just like the fiddlehead fern itself. Did you ever use these? In Texas they sell then in gourmet stores for about $10 for a little box!
❤
I’ve never used them but would like to 😀
I made peach jalapeño jam for the first time this year and it’s soooo good! The sweet peach and the pepper flavor are really good together, I’ve only had it on toast so far but I’m definitely going to try it on cornbread 😊
Tipper you really WOULD freeze at my house!!! 68 winter and summer, My neighbor says Boy you could kill hogs in here!!!
😀
Totally relaxing visiting with yall in the garden . It is stifling hot in central Texas too but I notice your trees don't show even a sign of a breeze . Wonderful show . Many prayers for Granny to feel better . Thank you as always for making us feel part of the family .
They have fans for patios! You should get one that's quiet & have it on you while your chatting. Thank you again for a nice visit!😊
''All I wanted was a piece of land where when I tickle the ground she would laugh me a bounty.'' ~Daniel Boone
The sounds of summer and extended daylight are my favorite things about summer…definitely not the heat. I also miss the sound of the Bobwhite. Keeping your sweet momma in my prayers.
Back in the day, we had no air conditioners either you said the box fan in the window draw in the cool air and go to sleep and all the way from North Carolina to Michigan. You roll down the windows if you’re hot no air-conditioning in the car either.
The first tomato I had this year was huge and beautiful. Went to get it for a much anticipated sandwich and only found remnants as it had been pulled off and eaten. I’m fixing go jihad on some squirrels.
Tipper is talking about next year's garden plans, Matt sitting quietly planning his escape.
😀
Jalapeño pepper jelly on cooked carrots with buuter...delicious!!!!
Matt would love that!
You & Matt are too cute! I feel like I'm sitting rt there in your shaded but hot yard enjoying a casual visit, maybe w/ a coconut popsickle. Here in Austin, TX, we've some serious heat going on too. 100° w/ nearly 40% humidity at 6:40pm Central time. Didn't dare step outside today. I enjoy your videos and happy to see your garden coming along so well! Have a wonderful wk and show us what you'll be doing w/ the peaches. ☀️🌱🍑🫛🥒🫑🌶🍅🍆🌽
Goodness that is hot! Thank you 😊
Thanks!
Thank you!
