    I love seeing how to make things like this in vector art. Beautiful. I did want to say that the airplane trail, I'm told, is often called a con-trail, short for "condensation."

    New to Inkscape here, I love the video but I'm stuck. At 2:19 in the video you are on the radial gradient tool with no color wheel. And at 2:20 there is a cut in the video and the color wheel appears. I can't seem to see it unless I go back to flat fill.

      I remember this part of the video I think. To get the color wheel back, try clicking on one of the gradient end points. That will bring up the color selection options. Hope this helps!
