    For all calling this fake. I would also if it didn’t happen to me. I wish I video more. I was just going to throw the video on twitter but then decided the make a YT out of it. A dumb dumb mistake that I can’t believe I made. All I can say it the figure was there when I walked in. Can’t say how it got there, how it was found. It’s hard to believe I know. Maybe I got a big prank played on me. Seems hard to believe also. Believe it not. Doesn’t matter in the end. All I can add is it was there when I walked in. Also if you look at my other videos. I don’t do things just for views or do anything fake. I don’t think. Thanks

      I can see this happening. If they are moving racks, clearing out boxes in the back or just breaking down old shelves stuff falls behind or a collector hid it years ago and someone found it. If it was BS I don't think the UPC code would have scanned. I remember when K-mart went out in Daytona some really odd stuff was on the floor for sale.

    • @damperobi
      @damperobi 7 лет назад +2

      Total BS the figure in 1983-84 was originally less than $3 $.2.99 on Toyworth. What you did was scan a newer figure that was priced at $8.99 and reduced to $3.49 according to your video and said it was the vintage planted figure. I had these original figures and they were no more than $3 at the stores. So I say this take that figure to a Kmart or Walmart, Target or a Toys R Us and actually video you scanning that figure or quit deceiving people for views. I am willing to bet it will not show in their system or even be able to be scanned.

      Don't worry, man. The majority of the people who watch your videos are fans of yours, and that means that we've been following your videos and Twitter feed and podcast for awhile. And that means that we know your track record of being a straight-forward and honest guy. I can't think of one instance where I thought you were embellishing or sensationalizing anything.
      It's really not that hard to imagine that a toy would have fallen behind the rack in the storage room of a crappy Kmart store, and it laid on the floor back there behind the bottom rack for a few decades until the crappy Kmart store finally started to completely clean out the back room because they were closing up.
      Anyway, great story, and great video as always!

      In 1991 I was in Toys R Us desperately looking for star wars toys because I was a huge fan. My mom explained that the stores didn’t carry them anymore but I couldn’t be dissuaded.
      I ended up finding a Return of the Jedi Desert Sail Skiff mini rig on the bottom of the rack, covered in GI Joe figures or whatever had fallen off the pegs. It was a victory I have never forgotten!

    A lot of vintage Star Wars figure turn up when store management moves aisle fixtures. Merchandise falls behind or under figures all the time.
    Often, these valuable collectibles are no longer “in the system.”
    Someone from the back room usually assigns the UPC to a generic description.

    That's crazy!!! I remember my K-Mart in the 80s having a huge isle that was covered in hundreds of figures and playsets, vehicles. It closed down about 3 years ago. I bet anything there was something hidden in the back from back then. I saw a video of a guy that worked at a K-Mart that was closing down and they found a vintage figure under some stuff in the back and they gave it to him because they knew how much he loved collecting SW figures. Man, junkman we gotta find that time machine.

    I found Ewok & Star Wars comics at a liquor store in a 1 road town in the 90's. They'd probably been there 20 years given the layer of dust on them. These things turn up some times :) Cool find you had there

    I found a store when I was visiting Denmark that was FULL of original 80's toys in their original packages selling for the original retail price. Transformers, GI Joes, Lego, etc. I loaded up on Transformers - filled 2 suit cases full of them. I still have them to this day and they are very rare!

      Its crazy whats out their. There is a vid I saw on youtube of some rich guy who owned warehouses I think in California where he just kept all Vintage toys. We are talking new old stock in tonage here. The guys in the vid played a game of pool at the end to decide the price on the toys that they picked from the warehouse. They played the game of pool in the actual warehouse as the guy who owned it sort of made it into a part man cave. Cool ASF.

    Not unheard of. The local supermarket White's Regal still had Charlie's Angels figures and Planet of the Apes board games into the 1990s. My cousins had the Star Wars board game on the shelf of their grocery store's toy aisle into the 1990s before they sold the shop.

    For those calling this video fake, shame on you. This stuff does happen. I've worked retail for more than 20 years now and where I've worked we've found toys in the back and out on the salesfloor that were being sold over 20 years ago. those toys aren't even in the system anymore. well they kind of are but they don't register a price. I don't know how many Marvel, Star Wars, Gi Joe when they got rereleased, and Lego sets from the past suddenly show up in boxes that were misplaced, fell behind shelves or were hidden. but it happens.

    Not sure how true or not this is. Given the circumstances of stores closing that have been open for years, I have worked in storage rooms in the back of brand stores and sometimes they have shit forgotten since before time. But 35 year old toys seem like a stretch. But anything is possible.

There was some giant comics of empire strikes back and some of the 12 inch figures from star wars.i also saw a rare star wars film cartridge that you could manually turn the crank and watch it and control the speed. I wanna say fisher price but if I'm not mistaken it said 1977 on back.

    I worked at a Toys R Us in the mid-90's that was going through major renovations, and all the walls and fixtures of the video game section were disassembled and removed. Hidden inside one of the walls I discovered an ancient Nintendo Mario Bros. handheld game with two screens. Also during my time there, someone tried to return an old Photon gun & sensor set, mint in the box. When the returns girl told the person TRU couldn't do a return on it, they just left it there and walked away.

    • @ThatJunkman
      @ThatJunkman  7 лет назад +1

      yep, you are right cause no one can have two toys in there hand at one time. And anyone sneaking a vintage toys in to a store and putting in on a peg with other toys, would never every lay down the 'other' figure in his hand to record the planned fake out. Its not like I went in and pick up something star wars related and then saw the vintage card and took my camera out. That is to hard to believe. So much easier the believe someone would go to the trouble of sneaking something in to a store but not the trouble of pick up a 'fake scan' toy between shots.

    In 2000 a neighborhood market with a small attached drug store finally went out of business. I went it to see what they were getting rid of. The guy who owned the drug store had storage in the loft above the store. He put out boxes of stuff that were up in the loft. I found two beat up Bespin Guards, the black ones, and a GI Joe Scarlett, swivel arm. The cards were garbage, and Scarlett’s rubber band had broken. But I bought them both. That was only roughly 14 years later, and it’s a small non chain store. Anything is possible

      Star Wars Junk woah I just found the idol from Raiders Of The Lost Ark in the Disney Store stuffed behind a Pooh Bear, luckily I had this bag of sand that was roughly ( or so I thought the same weight) and so I made a break for it and grabbed the idol. Unfortunately I got the weight wrong and all these little poisonous arrows started firing at me from small holes inside the walls and the store began to collapse on itself. I managed to get out through the entrance, just, only for a big ball to come flying from the back of the store ( not sure if Disney stores have some kind of standard set up where a big ball is ready to be released at any time) but I managed to outrun that, only for this French guy to steal it off me as I got outside. At this point all the Disney store workers were half naked except for a piece of grass up there arse and armed with spears, blow arrows and bows proceeded to chase me out of the shopping complex. Now I'm running my butt off to try and make it to the plane, without my idol might i add and being pursued by a couple of dozen angry Disney store workers( who I could now clearly see looked Central American, how did I miss that one) anyway I just made it to Jock's plane omly to find he's only got a bloody snake which I hate.

    The odds of K-Mart having a toy from 20+ years would be zero to none. I can see a really small department store in a small town because I seen some of those stores having toys from between 5 to 10 years ago in them as well the owner can't afford new toys for the store and I regard not buying some of the toys after seeing their worth now. But the store is fully closed forever now.

    I’ve seen this before. Must have been five years ago. So weird. There were 3 of them. At the time I just didn’t think too much of it.

    How does a Kmart in 2018 still have Return Of The Jedi figures from the early / mid 80's? How did they manage to have stock that old and not know about it?

      RJC 72 I am guess it was just the one guy. The store is closing and they have removed 90% of the old racks and stuff. Either than or someone played a joke on me and huge it lol

    That is an incredible find.....I would say, unbelievable. But then again, if it fell behind a rake, it could sit there for year on the floor, but if it fell behind a rack in the back room, it could sit there for decades. In all honesty Junk man.....keep it, its a great story piece to add to your collection. To someone who watches your videos, it'll just be another collectable.

    Didn't they go for $2.99 back in the 80's?
    Plus the glue would be crap by now. N color would kinda be faded.

    Maybe this happened. I’ve found fishing lures from the 60’s in old bait shops but everyone in the planet knows how valuable those old figures are. Seems unlikely

    The plastic blister is very yellowed. not completely out of the question for a Kmart going out of business. they have all kinds of junk in the back they might have found. I got 90% off halloween kmart stuff once I have more flying ghosts than I need lol I've been to store's close out bins and find things that are one of kind like they bought it at a garage sale and dumped it into a bin. one that comes to mind is a Detroit red wings stanley cup CD of the radio commentators in a meijer in ohio. they have meijers in MI too. it was an audio CD not even a DVD well after they won the cup lol MTFBWY

    • @spikey911usa
      @spikey911usa 7 лет назад +3

      Joe Zapata Not so crazy.. Our store had PS1 stuff when they closed their electronics department. I also found Nintendo Game&Watch before new old stock at a toy store.

    • @joezapata9084
      @joezapata9084 7 лет назад +4

      spikey911usa PlayStation 1 games are still available at GameStop, a toy from 1983, and he doesn’t show us the toy scanned I find it hard to believe. Not to mention he is a Star Wars collector with RUclips channel highlighting Star Wars figures. He probably scanned another Star Wars item..

    • @joezapata9084
      @joezapata9084 7 лет назад +3

      Not to mention that technology didn’t exist then to scan a toy. So it wouldn’t be scanned in at all. My wife works for a retail toy company and those numbers are recycled, and that it wouldn’t pop up at all on scanner, bc those numbers are recycled.

    • @joezapata9084
      @joezapata9084 7 лет назад +2

      Daniel Coy what are you talking about fruit? He doesn’t have a receipt and didn’t scan the item. It’s bullshit. A “Star Wars toy hunter” finds a rare find for his RUclips channel, how ironic! It’s bullshit...
