small comment on the stuff that didn't happen: the game was intended to have a story mode section for all characters, but due to time constraints, only the available 11 were finalized, if Trunks' story had been finished and implemented, then he'd have fought broly and warned them about him as a side quest. i know this because i used to make mods for this game a decade ago and browsed through the speech bubble text and audio files in the game. there were tons of other stuff planned including for the characters that already have a story mode, which was not implemented (like a scenario where you fuse into gogeta to fight super buu instead of vegetto). most of the capsules that you unlock by buying out most of the store were intended to be unlocked this way (gogeta from the previous example)
I loved this game as a kid. I greatly appreciate the hard work you put into making this video. The quality of it turned out fantastic! I’ve grown to love retrospectives so i’m REALLY looking forward to your upcoming work. Pace yourself well, give yourself good times to rest. Keep up the great work
While the video is probably a bit long for most people's tastes, I actually really enjoyed the format of "Let's hyper edit a playthrough and explain mechanics in the order in which they actually appear during that playthrough". Been on a DBZ Game kick lately, so when I saw a video about the first really good DBZ game I ever played, I was like "Gotta watch that!" Subbed.
You can actually fight Omega Shenron in Uub's dragon universe if you speak with Roshi at Kame House before the final fight with Goku. The fight is extrordinarily hard because of OS's 7 Base ki
I used to play this all the time as a kid, my first ever introduction to DBZ. The game surprisingly has more depth than meets the eye, for example pressing guard while holding a charged attack would cancel into block allowing you to do a followup afterward while they are still recovering. Best DBZ game! I spent $50 on the HD collection for the ps3, but was pretty upset with the change in the music. It was unplayable at that point 😂 so I emulated it and the feels returned!

Super Saiyan 2 is my favorite Super Saiyan transformation to by the way. Also Super Saiyan 3 is my least favorite Super Saiyan transformation. Keep up the good work.
I do remember that if you are brought back from the dead periodically that there body is a lot more durable/damage resistant than there mortal body. That’s the only real difference besides them having a halo over there head. Love your content. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
So, about Adult Gohan mentioning “the Legendary Super Saiyan that Future Trunks warned us about.” Apparently, Budokai 3 was supposed to have way more story mode content than it got. One piece of content that got scrapped due to time constraints and whatnot was a Future Trunks story mode in which he does indeed warn the Z fighters from the past about Broly (this all takes place after the Cell Saga I believe). Would've been a cool what-if for Future Trunks
15:38 Originally every character was planned in Dragon Universe. For Future Trunks, who fights Broly and goes back in time to warn Gohan and the others. It's since been cut but for some reason they left that part in the final game
I remember playing this game on the PS2 when I was 13, and the second I heard that title theme come in, I swear I had the biggest, stupidest grin all over my face. I'm at about 1:04:02 right now, and I am just stopping to tell you that I'm loving how in-depth this is! Absolutely subscribing, I can't wait to see what comes next from you!
the budokai games truly shine when you get into their advanced mechanics. They all do some sort of effort on the story telling, but I think the jist is that they re-tell the stories assuming you already know what happened. Most ppl who play these games already know the story, so ehhh, not much of a penalty there. I WILL SAY the 1st one had godlike story telling. But yeah, these games are INSAAANELY good if you actually get into advanced techniques. They're VERY deep technical games and are not button mashers as many call them. immaculate editing, though!
Heck yeah! Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 are stiill amazing to this day i used to play this games all the time with my cousins and my brother and now i get to play these games with my son and he loves them as well
Here's an idea for a game you can cover in the future, Jade Cocoon 2! It's a monster collecting game for the PS2, sorta like Pokemon. It's a great game if you're into that sort of thing.

Thank you so much. The intro still gives me goosebumps
I’m in America, In the south and I very often sing “United video” to myself at least on a weekly basis haha
one of my favorite db games, nice retrospective tbh
Great video, Great game. You are really funny. Thanks for making the video
Thank you for watching
Man this was good 😊I played it when it first came out and was 11. Good times
My absolute favorite game. Also that dance on the exp screen 😂❤
It's now my headcanon that Vegeta's training in the time chamber included dance parties when he thought Trunks wasn't watching.
Legendary dance moves @17:55 🤣🤣🤣
Great video. Really enjoyed playing this game. Pity some characters didn't have their unique dragon rush and meteor combos.
Yeah it would of been nice if they all got their own, at least there were a lot more than in budokai 2
I didn't have this DBZ back in the PS2, went straight to Budokai Tenkaichi, but i played the hell out of it on my XBox 360 with the HD bundle
9:19 I’m in love lmaoo plz do more dances
the budokai games truly shine when you get into their advanced mechanics.
Heck yeah! Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 are stiill amazing to this day
i used to play this games all the time with my cousins and my brother and now i get to play these games with my son and he loves them as well
Oh that is so adorable
u just listed my 2 favourite games of all time 🥰🥰🥰
Ah, super saiyan 3! A transformation so powerful your eyebrows fall out 🤣🤣🤣
I love Budokai 3. You and me both love this game!
54:09 what an epic foreshadow for dragonball super
Here's an idea for a game you can cover in the future, Jade Cocoon 2! It's a monster collecting game for the PS2, sorta like Pokemon. It's a great game if you're into that sort of thing.
This is really good! I literally had no clue what budokai was before watching. Now, thanks to your humor and sexy dancing, I do! Keep making content like this please!
Did you like my pair of nuts?
@@HiddenChannel I think EVERYONE liked that
@@josephsekavec lol everyone loves my glow in the dark nuts
You are living under a rock Budokai 1 2 and 3 and Infinite World were the BOMB!
Also Burst Limit.
@@johntravolta8389 I only just heard of infinite world while researching this video. I wish I had known about it when it came out, thought it was released 2008 which is really late for a ps2 game.
Renting movies and games was so exciting. I honestly barely owned any as a kid tbh.
Same, I sometimes miss going to those stores. It was always exciting. What store did you go to? where I lived we had United video and video ezy as the main ones.
@@HiddenChannel I lived in upper hutt. We had 3. United Video. Video ezy and later on Blockbuster. Blockbuster ended up having computers with internet. I loved renting vhs and purchasing consoles off video ezy. I got my sega saturn from them. (I'm old)
@@cringelordcollects We never had a saturn but my mum had a sega master system if you remember them lol
@@HiddenChannel yes first console was sms 1. I talk all about that stuff on the podcast I use to do. Its on my channel and spotify etc hah.
Here in america we had hollywood videom way cheaper than blockbuster and id too also rent a bunch of games and have a lot of experiences. +1 Sub!
Awesome :D we did have some blockbusters in new zealand but not where I lived.
This game was truly amazing and fun too I have it but I haven't played it in 10 years tho I am still a fan of the show tho I also read the manga as well I'm a huge dragon ball z fan and a huge anime fan as well too! 💯 I started with Goku first of all I'm a old school gamer and a new gamer. 🎮 🐉🐲

@@HiddenChannel np liking the content
Enjoyed the video and your sense of humor. Other reviews I'd like to see are Kingdom Hearts, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and the PS2 mascots (Sly, Jak and Rachet).
