I just had an idea for an RP empire. An empire that changes its goals every time it changes leaders. You have a list of different empire goals and ethics (maybe from past empires you've played on the channel) and every time the leader changes, for any reason, you randomly select a new goal. Policies, civics, etc. all have to be changed to reflect that if/when possible. Even to the point of acting against or trying to change the empires ethics. President Gorthrax was a kind ruler who wanted peace and prosperity for all life. But his successor, Emperor Flargon, was a slaving despot who seemed to want to cause as much misery and environmental damage as possible.
And the only ones that are technically still around, to my knowledge. I suppose it's possible some descendants from the First League made it to the present day though.
I think the Cybrex wished to repent after they realized their crusade against organic life was in error. Hence why they offered no resistance against the coalition that attacked them. Maybe the Honorbound respect that and let the Cybrex artifacts stand as a monument to their sins.
I know the Cybrex are the opposite of the Honorbound...but there have to be members of Honorbound society who are now wondering (after the discovery of Cybrex Alpha) "Would we ever allow ourselves to be wiped out, even if we felt there was a reason to justify it?"

If you go down the rules of war tree, you may want to do so late game. Because as you go down it, you make it harder to be effective in the council, making it harder to continue down it. Unless you invest heavily in another facet of diplomatic weight, which would be rather difficult considering you're inferior in almost every other metric to most other empires. So, yeah, maybe it becomes their goal after the final crisis. Once conflict has been resolved within the galaxy, they determine that demilitarizing the galaxy is the best way to safeguard it. But, they definitely wouldn't align with that now, while the federation is surrounded on all sides by overwhelming threats.
I think you need to take a look at the situation in your southwest. If you go 2 systems west and take Teersonia (and the one to the north as well), you have closed a potential back door into your empire further north (just below the archivists). Even though the Accord just lost to the hivemind, one or the other will probably end on top so by closing that back door you only have one point of contact. You can claim the rest of the systems in the pocket at your leisure.

i find that the mining drone laser works best on fast corvettes with the afterburners tech. give those ship anti-shield weapons as well, and you have small ships that can do massive damage if in a fleet of just them. i always use them on corvettes. later on with the weapon boost techs, they do get better.

I would suggest you name the gaia world either valhalla or elysium. after the paradises for distinguished heroes in norse and greek mythology respectively. it would totally fit to the empire. after fulfilling their duty for the 'honourbound' veterans are granted a position on the most lavish world in their empire. recognizing their service to the nation and the people. also i was 100% sure you would unlock the 'secrets of the cybrex' this episode. i was quite possibly bamboozled :D
Hey lath, can I recommend 3 mods? More Armies and Ground Combat Expanded, More Armies adds a policy about military drafting where you can get a soldier pop every 10/20/40 pops while Ground Combat Expanded adds in ground doctrines like the ones unlocked via supremacy however these don’t need the supremacy tree. My 3rd recommendation might not work with StarNet or Ethics and Civics, it is Galactic Community Expanded. It gives all base game ethics and MegaCorps their own branch in the community along with letting you make killing the other space creatures (crystals/mining drones) a breach of galactic law. It also adds in a 6th extreme option in all existing tree’s including the denouements, -120% in some. Hope these mods are interesting!

I feel like the Cybrex, Zroni, and Baol are so vastly superior in story and reward than the other precursors, it’s kind of absurd
