Great report...smart young man here,,He is a fine example of the great potential in young people. Greata video work too. Bless you and your family. Keep the reports coming.
Really love seeing you get right into your work Jan. You share a lot of interesting information on your videos. Excellent amount of info today. Your Dad did a great job on the gate. Smart looking foot bath too. Thanks for a great video.
Great video. Love seeing how other people do things on their farm. Our milking process is we use hot water and soap in a bucket wipe the teats with a paper towel. Strip it out. And wipe it with a dry towel. We do use post dip but not pre dip. The hot water triggers the milk drop about 90 seconds after washing the teats. So it brings the milking time down to about 3 minutes on average
Good video Jan! If you are looking for topics for your channel, maybe you could do an explanation of the water system for your farm - it seems like you use a lot of water and you live in a dry area of the country, so it would be interesting. Have a nice day! 😀
I have been watching your videos for awhile now I still love your opening especially flying through the hole in the tree just really cool, I'm a professional drone pilot and that makes me quiver every time I see that. Thanks for your hard work and keep up the good work!
Great video Jan - on top of all the work you do, adding in multiple camera views like you're a 4 person TV crew is pretty amazing. The production level of your vlogs is definitely up there at pro level. You make milk and poop kewl ! 🐄 😎
Winter rye can be a wonderful feed as silage A heads up The harvest window for silage is very short When you see the heads starting to emerge Feed value declines very rapidly
Hello Jan. So glad you've done another video so soon. That's how we like it! 👍 you have some really beautiful cow's their patterns are so nice. Do the pregnant cows ever get go through
I have not had the opportunity to view your latest video. I did just do a quick scan to see if the farm got hit with the latest spring snow storm, lol. Wish you and everyone there all the best!
Love watching Your videos and your sister’s videos. Keep up the good work. We are getting major snow down here in southeast Sask. We have had 6 inches in the last 12 hrs.
Hey yan one of the farms I work on in the uk has no cleaning routine or prepping routine they just hang the milker under they don’t even clean after the cow was milked So it is good to see that you are so clean
It will be interesting to see how your Rye makes out. I have a friend that tried winter wheat with limited success. It came up O.K. But didn’t winter well. He felt it was a combination of a cold winter with limited snow coverage. We had some of each this winter and it is still - 11 during the day now. If you think of it can you give us an update ( look ) in a month or so. Thanks.
I’d say you pretty much smacked that wall into next week. Hope you aren’t suffering any ill effects from the sudden stop. That new hoof spa looks downright luxurious.
Hey jan. I think it would be a good idea to cut the ends off the bolts for the 1 way gate at the foot bath so the cows dont end up scraping their side off of them. Just an idea. Really enjoying your vids, keep up the good work 👍
I thought that too, but see that the bolts are set to be stoppers for the gate, to keep it from slamming into the wall. So they are covered by the gate, and can't be scraped by the cow's side. Pretty well designed, actually!
Took me awhile also to get use to going through those kind of Gates entering Menards. Those Bars are groin high. Even though there are no Foot Baths at those gates entering Menards it wouldn't be a bad idea. Take your shoes and socks off, walk through and get rid of any issues you're having with your feet.
Have you ever tried the robot manure scrapers? I have wondered why I never see spider webs in the cow barns? I know the spiders or anything else that would not make webs during the winter but with being in Minnesota we always had frost find every web we missed getting down in the fall showed up with frost sticking to them. Like you said your operation does not have to worry about a predip. You do not have a problem with chapped teats with your operation. I was happy you did not have whiplash after doing your test run to see what the concrete wall could take. lol
Ah so you have been having our rain! We have had only a few light showers for three weeks. Very warm spring here in UK. I have grazing rye as a green manure, should be ready now to dig it in, but it is already half a meter tall. You are only about 30 north of me, Everything is green here and daffodils have been and come and gone now. Winter so cold in Canada! I am only about 40 miles from the sea, it keeps us so warm. How do you decide which cows to breed from? Do you inseminated the rest with Angus? Do you have your own bull or do you buy in? What characteristics are important to you?
Hell Jan, congratulations another awesome video, great cows and management . Which company breeding you work? And what is your criteria when buy bulls?
thanks for this👍 one question though, why dont you lead the cows through the foot bath on the way to the milking parlour? it seems to me it would spread less bacteria into the milking parlour.
Great video, but I got a question is the case even worth it. If you need to do many repairs on it, isn't it cheaper to buy a new or new to you tractor?
Can you tell me what drone you use? I have been looking into getting one but never having had one I am having trouble figuring out what a good one is. We have about 350 acres, cows, hay fields and crops with rolling hills and 10 barns/sheds.
Jan, do you have the quota system in Saskatchewan? How does that work? I don't understand how a dairy would get an opportunity to ever grow. What happens when you have cows not producing, do you lose quota? Would it be possible to maybe have you or your dad explain it?
For health and safety i have always been to told to switch the tractor engine off when attaching pto shafts, you only have two hands and can't grow anymore
I am so impressed how clean your cows are ,some videos of dairies they is manure all over their legs. Great job on your dairy and videos!
You all have such a clean barn and I just can never wait for the next one to post thank you for the wonderful content
Great report...smart young man here,,He is a fine example of the great potential in young people. Greata video work too. Bless you and your family. Keep the reports coming.
Absolutely love how you explain how you run your farm thanks for sharing your life and thoughts 😍😍😍😍
Really love seeing you get right into your work Jan. You share a lot of interesting information on your videos. Excellent amount of info today. Your Dad did a great job on the gate. Smart looking foot bath too. Thanks for a great video.

Thanks for providing 100% excellent dairy, proud Canadian!🇨🇦

Enjoy it, as allways! Thx handsome!! I gotta check out "A Dairy on A Prairie" soon.😉 Saw that pop up in my feed recently....
Hey Jan, great video again, its always interesting to see what happens on your farm ,thanks for showing us.
The foot bath? If so it could be a tight squeeze. Will be interesting to see the fertilizer equipment getting filled and running. Great video!
I have been watching your videos for awhile now I still love your opening especially flying through the hole in the tree just really cool, I'm a professional drone pilot and that makes me quiver every time I see that. Thanks for your hard work and keep up the good work!
I always look forward to a new posted video from you. Thanks Jan.
Great video and thanks again to you and your family for what you do

I was watching another farming video it was interesting, but it made me realise how good you are Jan at producing videos. You are a very good speaker.
*cool
Awsome video well kept operating
Winter rye can be a wonderful feed as silage
A heads up
The harvest window for silage is very short
When you see the heads starting to emerge
Feed value declines very rapidly
Another great video as always. Please keep them coming.TakeCare and KeepSafe.🥰😷😀🦋🏴🐄
Wow, you farmers especially the animals farmers are above anD beyond hard working people, most appreciate all you do.
GoOD On To All !
Thank you for another great video. Take care
Thanks Jan for sharing the new vlog , great video. 🤟🤟
Hello Jan. So glad you've done another video so soon. That's how we like it! 👍 you have some really beautiful cow's their patterns are so nice. Do the pregnant cows ever get go through
I miss being around the cows!! Growing up I spent every minute I could at my aunt and uncles small dairy farm.
I have not had the opportunity to view your latest video. I did just do a quick scan to see if the farm got hit with the latest spring snow storm, lol. Wish you and everyone there all the best!

another great video Yann would be curious to know what bulls you guys are using and what your looking for in a bull! :)
Very informative video. Lots of info packed into this one.
Good work family. Thank Jon.
Pre dipping is a good idea but adds time to milking. I think it helps reduce thermoduric bacteria. The daries in the UK are testing for that now!!
awesome video Jan. Thank you
Hello from Moosomin ,Saskatchewan, Canada Great videos you put out thanks for sharing.
Time to get new skid steer tires! 😃😃😃
another good video well done
.. Cheers to you ..
Great video as always keep them coming

I’d say you pretty much smacked that wall into next week. Hope you aren’t suffering any ill effects from the sudden stop. That new hoof spa looks downright luxurious.

Great video Jan? Have you ever thought about feeding the cows some of the Canola you grow? Always like seeing the Versatile. Thanks for the video!

Hallo Jan, danke für dein Video, das du wieder sehr gut gemacht hast. Grüße aus FENDT Land😀
Yea was another sweet video
Need to make u a scoop bucket with a side unloader for the sand then u don’t have to spin to spread it almost like the feed loader just a thought
Ever thought of getting a sand spreader for the skid steer
We bed with compost, a bit different but there’s always manure on the farm
Frohe Ostern. Happy Easter🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰
👍👌🇨🇦❤, another Sask boy, me too
@@Nicole-mn9oy what?

To bad that 4 wheeler does not have a pto that would work great on the liquid spreader.
Hell Jan, congratulations another awesome video, great cows and management .

thanks for this👍 one question though, why dont you lead the cows through the foot bath on the way to the milking parlour? it seems to me it would spread less bacteria into the milking parlour.
Hope you guys get rain this time.
Wow, snow? You're still having snow up there? Good grief, it got up to 82° today, had to run the air conditioning, lol!
Enjoyed the video
Thank you!
You have the best intro on RUclips good work man shout out please 👍👍👍👍
Nice video as always keep up the good work
Love your videos
Do you do your own hoof trimming or bring someone in for that? You all work so hard!
How do you give the cows out in the corral a hoof bath treatment?
Good video.
Would reflective tape on the concrete walls, when backing up.
"We" hit the wall? Looks like the walls and gate for the foot bath will work well.
Great video, but I got a question is the case even worth it. If you need to do many repairs on it, isn't it cheaper to buy a new or new to you tractor?

Smoked the crap out is a bit more accurate 🙃
Great video your a heck of a farm hand how many head do ya milk Great job
I am curious what the flashing lights in the parlour are for.
Regarding the concrete wall that was repaired, somehow I don't think there was a "we" that broke it. More like an "I".lol
👍
🇨🇦👍👍👍OK🇺🇸
For health and safety i have always been to told to switch the tractor engine off when attaching pto shafts, you only have two hands and can't grow anymore
I enjoy your video and like to know how many cows do yall milk thanks for the video
What would you use if you ran out of Sand??
Run out? Dang near all of Saskatchewan is an ancient sea bed, sand everywher under the topsoil.
why have you taken off the 3 point hitch on that versatile?
Seems like great farm. If you need another employee, let me know
can you recycle the used sand?...thanks 4 video. be kind.
Yes, sand are scraped with manure and sent to lagoon. Pump into liquid tank and spread on fields.
I like Versatile equipment
how do you know whicj bull to use?
What was the previous record of these cows
What is this and the cows?
Quick question Why is the mx 285 in the shop? Also fantastic video
Do you have an alarm or something that lets you know when your out of a product in the basement like the iodine
