Hi, thank you for this helpful tutorial on port forwarding. I kindly ask further please? 1) Is your configuration ONT > root router > internal router? 2) can the configuration be ONT > internal router? 3) does port forwarding requires a static IP from the service provider?
@@KnowledgeSharingTech I now have to correct myself. I got with GL-iNet's support, and they gave me a link to their latest firmware update. It's still a Beta version, but it worked perfectly. I was able to load Mullvad VPN servers for any region I wanted with almost zero effort. But there are still about 10% negative reviews on Amazon
Hi! What router is best for privacy and speed, the asus rt-ax86u or ax3000? And if you install a vpn (like nord or mullvad) on it will it slow down the speed? Thank you! Great video’s 😊
Both Asus routers are very good. Look at this video to see how secure your Asus router: ruclips.net/video/KVt6QApwGn4/видео.html If you connect your router to VPN, the speed is dictated by the VPN speed and not the router's
I already did everything in your video about OpenVPN. My ISP is Xfinity. I own my model and wireless router. Do I need to buy another wireless router for this to work?
It is useful. However, I have a question actually it is the reverse case of what you described here. I have a main router (connect to internet) with ijp 192.168.1. and i connect thru cat 6 wire on lan port on main router to second router (192.168.1.3) on lan port. I disabled NAT DDNS and DHCP on second router, with this set up I can access internet by connecting to second router SSID. I also attached a USB drive to second router, I can access this usb drive when I am using PC or android within the home netowrk(ie connecting to either main or second router SSIDs). However when I am outside home and connect to main router's VPN (pptp or OpenVPN), i cannot access second router's usb but I can access main router 's USB drive. DO I need to do port forwarding on both main and second routers, if so how can i do it? Thansk in advance for your help.
Thanks, your blue network cable is connect from LAN port on root router to WAN port on internal router? Or LAN to LAN? I am asking becouse i cant get WAN IP on internal router from root router.
Sir , When you say DDNS set up , it is something alternative for editing the configuration file by replacing the remote IP address of OVPN file . Am i correct ?
So DDNS need to be configured on the root-router? It cannot be configured on the internal-router hosting open-vpn? I only ask because in my home network im using Verizon Fios, which provides its own router, but it does not provide a ddns option. I just bought the ASUS router that you suggested, which does have ddns, but it will be an internal-router.
this setup is working on computer but i am not able to access rdp through mobile even though it gets connected to vpn server can you help me with that ?
Could not establish connection to VPN server this way with my configuration. Primary internet router is a Huawei LTE Router where I setup a virtual server pointing to VPN server inside the TP Link wireless router behind the Huawei Router connected to its LAN port. In TP Link Router I also configured NAT Port Triggering with Port Number for VPN server. I got this method from NAT triggering from TP Link Tutorial. But also Port forwarding does not work. I fixed also TP Links IP adress in Huawei Router.
Consider if we have root router and internal router , After port forwarding , Can we do DDNS set up in the internal router ? Because my root router does not support Open VPN . Please let me know
@@KnowledgeSharingTech You mean we need to setup DDNS in main router which receives internet and Do port forwarding from my Main router to my secondary router which has Open VPN ?

Thank you for the video. I have looked at the GL-inet portable VPN routers, and they are nothing but trouble. Lots of issues.
Thanks for the info!

Hello...good day to you sir.is it safe for asus router ax4200 if i switched it on access point mode.thnaks for your reply..and new subscriber here✌️
Sir , When you say DDNS set up , it is something alternative for editing the configuration file by replacing the remote IP address of OVPN file . Am i correct ?
No, when you establish a DDNS for the IP, you put it instead of the IP.
So DDNS need to be configured on the root-router? It cannot be configured on the internal-router hosting open-vpn?

If you want to use DDNS, you should configure it on the root router

You fix the IP of the internal router and you put a DDNS for the outer router

Hey, think the title of your video should contain the specific model number or at least brand name of the device right? Right?
