Beautiful video!!! I've been through Picos de Europa, Asturias, Cantabria (Santander) many times (being Spanish and living here helps) and I feel there are still hundreds of places to visit and roads to ride. Last route I did was called "Around Asturias": 1.000 kilometers riding a circular route through Picos and the north coast. I still dream around riding there, every corner is a surprise, lovely local people, there is always a bar to stop by and a have a chat to ask for new routes where you can ride. Rain in one mountain, sunny in the next valley. I've been in the Pyrenees this summer and it was great, but I still prefer Picos de Europa. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip and hope you do many others!
Big nostalgia. I've done several trips to the Picos, including one or two of the sections on the video. The important thing to grasp is how wild and empty it is. Even sticking to paved roads you can ride for hours and see half-a dozen vehicles, two bars (one shut), zero fuel stops, and a scattering of ancient hamlets unchanged since the middle ages. There are countless unmade trails but you are on your own. Don't expect that someone will be along to help you out. You can't just nip off the trail for fuel. It can turn from hot sun to bitterly cold and wet overnight. There is a minor injuries unit in Potes (how do I know this?) but for any significant injury or breakdown you have to get yourself and bike to Santander or Bilbao. Fabulous place, but wild and unforgiving.
Yep! I'm from Spain , living in Santander. I'm a long distance dirt rider too. The difference between Spain and other remote and wild places to ride is a big important one: If you have an accident, like a friend of mine had in a remote area of Pyrinees... you will be picked up by an helicopter in 1 hour and taken to an european hospital. I had the same experience in Morocco and we were fucked this time Cheers
@@salvareo Thank you, useful to know. Santander is easy access from the UK, and the Picos only one hour away from Santander, so a UK rider might not realise that it is a whole different ball game from what they are used to in the UK.
I really like to attempt at more of a story telling theme.....it's noticeable, unpredictable, and refreshing in a way that doesn't distract from the content. Keep evolving and bringing us on the journey.

was there in May en route to a Trans Portugal attempt, TET, and bits and bobs, like you things did'nt go smooth, snow, fire, punctures, lost subframe bolt, call to the emergency service and finally the shits for four days. A great eye opener for those that dont know. Nice vid and nice words too.
I'm happy you enjoyed my homeland and its wild beauty! Every year I make a 6 days enduro-trail-road trip in the Northwest of Spain and it is always awesome. If you ever come back let me know and I'll show you some other nice places.
Bloody hell, if that doesn't make you want to get off your backside and book some ferry tickets, you're dead from the neck down. Lel, your films are getting better and better - you're fast becoming the UK's answer to RyanF9 and we bloody love you for it.
I've scoured YT for everything Picos (motorcycle) related, I'm not particularly hooked on the TET but this is the most interesting and well put together video of the region that I've seen. Most are absolute garbage consisting of a POV ride with not a great deal more, but this is how a proper bike travel video should be so well done and thank you!
Thanks! The kindest words. Trying to make stuff easy to watch and inspiring! Honestly, the TET loop here is really something special. The Linesman did an insanely good job.

Watch out for over enthusiastic motorcycles over cooking corners in overloaded touring bikes was my only worry whilst there. I watched the Spain /Italy world cup match in a camp site there , i said i supported Italy ..hilarious !.
I did the Sotres to Espinama trail both ways in June on my Tracer 700 road bike. Loved doing that trail, plus we found many other high trails too over the week we were there.
oh yes i was in Spain and it has amazing roads and views, its country made for bikers. I was in car unfortunately but some day for sure ill do trip with bike there. Llel, I think your video really does justice to the Picos area of northern Spain. Loved it and shared with my biker mates. Going for the 4th time in September. The scenery, roads, food and people amazing. Thanks 👍🏼
I used to offroad in the picos national park a few years ago . until they stopped it !( think its a 600 euro fine if you ride in the park ... but there i still on fantasic route that i legal . starts at Esspinama ( 4 mile before fuenti de ) and ends at sotres. This is the best way to ride it
Funny enough my last trip was this section of TET and down into Portugal. I lost my jacket with my passport in it (probably in a similar place, only about 2 hours off the ferry), broke my phone while fixing my sidestand and then my bike was stolen in Bilbao while I was getting my emergency passport. With all the shit going wrong I didn't manage to make it into the Picos proper so I will have to go back sometime.
Phenomenal short movie, definitely worth the wait! It seems some tough editorial decisions were made to keep the length down to satisfy the short attention spans out there... bit of a shame. I bet the cutting room floor for this one has some gems!
It always does. The murder your darlings principle is always in hard effect. Some of the drone shots are really long and beautiful 😅 RUclips is a cruel place for this stuff though.
I was totally absorbed in your video and your narrative. Excellent. I look forward to more of same, but not same if you get my drift. How was the desert X? I’ve heard good things. Should I sell something to buy one as I’m keeping my v4 pikes peak awhile yet? Or maybe get something older/cheaper and do some trails . Great vid 👏👏👍
You’ve made a really good video here, very interesting. Just in case nobody else has mentioned it, you need to seriously turn down your background music, it’s truly getting in the way of your excellent narration.
What a wonderful video. You have my full admiration for your riding skills, filming skills and cutting skills. Wow! I am really impressed. May I ask a few questions? Which drone do you use? And how the heck do you make your drone follow you on the bike. Or are those scenes filmed manually? I have the DJI Air and I have never ever managed to make this thing follow me on the bike,,,,,
Using an Air 2S. It's not the best tbh, so I'm careful with it. That's why the riding always is a bit slow with the drone. It can only really go behind. I put the controller on the handlebars using a phone mount, with a universal adapter stuck to the back of it. Currently using Quadlock. Have used Mous. Both decent. If you can get one a Skidoo 2+ is the best drone for this. it's amazing, but a bit out of my budget atm and they are tricky to get in Europe. Apparently the newer Air 3 from DJI is better again.
The more miles I'm putting on my desert x the more I hate the front suspesion , its rubbish !! 😂 time for ohlins internal fork kit and a new rear ohlins aswel... that's my holiday put back to next year now 😂 cool vid 👍👍
