  • Tis' the season! In this last episode of 2023, I share why the Honda ADV 150, or any scooter or motorcycle for that matter, would make an excellent gift for the holidays. Now is the perfect time to consider purchasing a bike as the colder months hit much of United States. You can negotiate better deals and you can find some great bargains on the used market especially. As motorcycle enthusiasts plan for the 2024 riding season, many of them want to upgrade or choose different bikes so you might be able to find that perfect present for you or your loved-one. How about a couple's gift?
    Thanks to all my viewers. I can't wait for warmer weather in order to bring you more content. I wish everyone a fun, safe, holiday season and I'll see you soon!

      That's why I avoid I-75 at all costs. Permanent work zone and I've lived here a long time. It never ends. When they finish a section it's time to start all over.

    Before my scooter was stolen a month ago (what a horrible way to spend the holidays), I would ride my Honda Metropolitan everyday to work, grocery runs, or wherever in town. While it doesn't get too cold that often in the PNW, there are a lot of days that it rains in the winter but I would layer up while also having rain resistant gear. Thankfully it is mostly just light misty rain when it does.
    Speaking of the Honda ADV 160, that is my next bike to be my replacement for my Met once the GAP claim is finalized and I can finance a new ride thru Honda. And I am so going for the red one.

      It's too bad we have to live among scum human beings who are no value to society, but unfortunately we must deal with it. I'm glad things are working out for you. 👍🏼 Enjoy the new red ride and hopefully it will be with you a lot longer! 🏍️ ✌🏽

      @@Trekopolis Thank you! It sucks but not much more I can do that I haven't already done and find alternatives. For my next ride, whenever I can manage to get it (hopefully in the next week or two), I am already thinking of ways to avoid getting it stolen, which includes potentially moving to an apartment closer work and a place that doesn't charge an insane amount each month for parking.

    It's getting cold up here in michigan. Luckily, a couple of weeks ago we had one 60 degree day and i couldnt pass up getting out there on the road. Almost time to start winterizing the bike.

    Have an ADV 150

  • @brianneal4597

    BRB showing this to my wife 😀Hey Scott some great points in that one. I am still looking at the ADV 150 (am also still looking at a PCX because I've been watching so much QuasiMotard lately too haha), but will definitely pick one or the other in the coming weeks. The weather here in KY is similar to you in OH, so I feel you about riding in the cold - I can do it with proper gear, just not sure if I want to.
    I do want to get back out there though, so I've narrowed it down to those two choices - the Bergmans are nice, but there are none around me at dealers, and I do not plan to do very much interstate riding at all, though I do have longer term goals of touring the backroads, and maybe even doing the Cannonball or Scoot The Ozarks at some point in the future. I like both the ADV and the PCX, they both fit me and my needs, and now I'm down to availability of accessories and gear (windscreen, maybe a top case, a few other odds and ends), and making the decision and pulling the trigger.
    I am so glad I found your channel earlier this year, and I have enjoyed all of your videos and its so nice to see someone with similar riding styles and goals, and I am looking forward to what all you have in store on both channels. I hope the holidays find you and yours well, and wish you all the best in the new year as well!

      Great comment and they are what motivate me to keep plugging away. If I can help one person find that joy in life I win. I struggled for years living with hopelessness and I may share that story one day. I've learned to make the moments count. We can't change the past or predict the future, but we can control the moments. The moment for me now is lunch so take care and don't be a stranger.

    I have a Adv 150 2022

  • @Photobyhart

    The ADV 150 is just small enough that 60 mph seems real fast, so I plan to stay off the highway anyhow. 30+ years ago ai remember riding from Dayton to Cleveland no problem. Today though, no way. I just go out for some fun. Haven’t done an overnight either, may be a fun thing to do in the future.

    • @Trekopolis
      @Trekopolis  8 месяцев назад

      That's so true. It seems like I'm going 100mph. Kinda like a boat on water. It always seems much faster.

    My son is getting older now and about to pick up his first vehicle and I was thinking of giving him my car and picking up a good commuter the pcx and adv where both looking great for me as the hit my purpose just ride as I can come and go for work and save gas at the same time as the fastest I'm going to go on a good day is maybe 65 as the traffic is trash here near Austin Tx. On top of that I will be able to just cruise around and enjoy myself so this type of bike is almost perfect. Will be looking at the Burgmans also they look fairly similar to the pcx which isnt bad.

      The real value applies to anything that brings a smile to the face that a person can afford and doesn't cause too much hassle with repair issues. There are ample choices for that and it all depends on the individual. Be safe!

    heeeeey buddy, good to see another video. 12/16 thats my birthday :) Congrats on your team, i didnt watch it but they won in OT? very nice, broncos got beat badly LOL no bueno. JAJAJAJ wife to gift me a motorcycle?! I'm lucky that she even allowed me to get one, because i started with the honda ruckus which it was very small, then adv150 and now rebel 1100. But she wouldnt allow me to get a full size bike just because safety or high risk of accident. Continue winning there :) we will see what happens here, i dont like the way Payton yelled to russell, that was a red flag for me. Oh and we having a great weather here until friday too. I been riding to work since sunday :)

      Hey, wives are supposed to make their man happy, right? Maybe three motorcycles will do it. :P I was rooting for Denver buddy, oh well. I didn't see the coach yell at Wilson. BTW...how do you like the Rebel? What's the biggest difference than the ADV?

      @@Trekopolis jajaja happy wife happy life. That’s the only phrase I know 😂 oh man. Search it but it wasn’t on the last game. It was the game of the week before. But it’s everywhere. People commenting about it. The Rebel is bigger and heavier. It uses the gas faster but it has a ton of speed acceleration etc. I love it To be honest. I just needed to be able to get into the highway whenever I needed to. It opens more routes for me Compare to the adv150 and still automatic 😆

      Thanks for that information. I've never ridden the Xmax. Great combination of power and MPGs. Maybe they will let me ride one this summer. 🤔😎

    Iam looking at upgrading to adv 160 from ruckus, I don't like the idle stop function ofcthe adv 160 so I might try find adv 150 or possibly the zuma 125, but the Yamaha xmax 300 is perfect if you want do some highway riding

    • @Trekopolis
      @Trekopolis  8 месяцев назад +1

      Not sure if I already replied to this, but I just saw the comment in my other area. RUclips is wacky sometimes. Anyway, I didn't know the 160 had the idle-stop function. Interesting! Our SUV used to do it, now it magically stopped for no apparent reason. That would be weird on a bike though.

      Iam researching wether that feature can be disabled, definitely don't want lose idle when I stop, to many bad implications for that, it just seems unnecessary, these bikes already get 80 or 90 mpg
