I put Mattracks on my X3XRCRR last year... I asked questions about the Apache but my dealer and others knew ‘nothing’ about it. In snow tracks on the X3 are insanely fun! Windshield with wiper is a must....no way could you run tracks without....I had powdery snow on the shield constantly.

about time someone makes a dedicated track kit that is more like a snowmobile.
regular tracks sink in deep snow.

  • @NavigateOffroad

    Those tracks look sick.
The power windshield option seems pretty interesting...but it also seems like something that would be quick to break.
    Lastly...that XRS is intense!

Ernie Desjardins they have less power than even a fan cooled snowmobile and those new tracks are only for snow. Only snow, fan cooled sled 5000 grand, used 2007 summit 800r has 150hp and will put you into the stratosphere

What was top speed on the defender. My dad just bought the defender max last fall and we couldn’t get it to go over 25 mph and didn’t have good power wither tracks on. Dealer wouldn’t do anything to fix ended up selling it and getting a ranger crew with tracks. We are using it at elevations of around 10,000 ft

    • @ostacruiser

On long rides in a side x side with a windshield always bring an extra wiper blade and even consider a wiper motor. Learn how to replace both. Without these things you have no visibility and it is extremely dangerous. Oh yes, extra spark plugs, a battery starter and a good winter battery. Look for a gel battery rather than a standard lead acid. The lead acid will loose their charge if the temperature is cold. Then you are screwed on start up after a stop and break.

Great machines for wide open country but a snowmobile has a shorter turning radius. If a snowmobile is in a tight spot the rider just has to dismount and swing the back of the machine around and hop back on .

You have a vehicle that has a drive train that is designed to spin four tires on pavement. You are adding an attachment that requires four tracks to spin in off road conditions.
As a bearing engineer, I will tell you that if you double the speed you cut the life in half but it you double the load you reduce the life by a factor or eight. If I sold your the vehicle, I would void the warranty!

    • @JordanFlynn
